FOR ME IT'S MY COMIC BOOKS. YOU CAN LEARN SO MUCH. OF THE BACK ROUND. OF THE STATUES, WHERE THEY CAME FROM. EITHER MATCHING COVERS. OR MORE IMPORTANTLY. YOU CAN LEARN THE CHARACTER'S ORIGINS.👊🏽🥃
I just got into statue collecting over the past few years of the ones I really enjoy. Collected a bunch of Funko Pops but slowly downsizing to make space for statues. I like the Funko figures because they are small and cost significantly less than a statue if I were to get the character in a statue form.
I usually get mine from either Sideshow or Prime 1 Studios. I don't buy statues too often as I don't have the space for a massive collection. I'm guessing I pay $600 as an average.@@Salute503
I love collecting statues, graded comics and Omnibus's. The thing I hate about statues is not having a great way to display them. I need to find a better option than garage shelves
I collect metal prints, i love art! I have enough prints to cover my whole room up and some. Each print is like paper weight, grade A aluminum 11x17. From anime, MCU, pop culture, horror and so on. I like your take on each topic about the collectibles pros/cons. I got Lou ferrigno and the great Stan Lee's autograph on the incredible hulk photograph. RIP Stan Lee. Thank you again on advice & tips. 👍
I'm new to collecting, but it's a easy pick, statue collecting is the winner just for the simple fact that statue are awesome and unique,it's so much fun putting a statue together and putting them up and it's such a conversations piece whenever someone visits your home
I love collecting autograph memorabilia! Which led to me collecting statues. You are the reason I started. I never even knew there was so many statues even made.
One thing about statues though is it's an art piece itself, and can be appreciated that way. The other two fall strictly under collectibles. You can argue the slabs are art too but you don't have to get graded versions to appreciate the art portion.
Pogs, magic the gathering cards, football stickers, shot glasses, video games are all things i collected at some point. But now i have found statues this is definitely what i want to collect for the foreseeable future.
Collected comic books, toys, comic book art, and Statues. My number one problem is space, what to do with the boxes. In the process of moving now boxing everything up is a pain. I would continue with the comic book art, easy to display and move if needed
I collect handcuffs, new and old from around the world. I dedicated a channel to showing them off to people who want to see them. It's nice to collect interesting stuff, especially when it's a little piece of history.
I started collecting magic the gathering as a kid, moved onto sports memorabilia & then statues. I like memorabilia & statues the most as these are the things I can look at everyday & enjoy the most. My trading cards are stored away, take up less space & in terms of value of the 3 is the one that increases the most although I don’t collect anymore & like the least of my collections.
I don't collect any of those but love watching channels like yours just because I enjoy seeing people own rediculous shit. Some of those statues are just insane. The rare comics are cool too. Memorabilia doesn't excite me that much as I feel it would have to be something really specific for me to get interested. That being said love the channel!
I collect expensive diecast cars (from about the $149- $1000+ each: Kyosho, Danbury Mint, Autoart and GMP/ACME lines). These cars have definitely sky rocked in value over the past few years, especially the older, early 2000 models. I just bought my very first Poison Ivy Tweeterhead statue (still sealed in the box) and just ordered the Pumpkin Witch (by Chris Sanders), from Sideshow, that will arrive this week! I buy all of this stuff first and foremost because I love the collecting hobby, but also love the value! 😁 I'm happy that I just found your channel! Very informative and funny and I love your videos with Mrs. X! 😜
Statues, comics (raw and graded, most of them are autographed/signature series) and guns are the top three things I collect. And like you, I also like having comics (again raw or slabbed) as a companion to statues to pair up with. These are the top 3 I collect
I've collected a lot of random stuff over my life and the two collections that have endured the longest are movies/TV (DVD/BluRays) and TPBs/GNs. All of them can be revisited numerous times, plus they can be displayed on a shelf in alphabetical order for easy access and visual appeal.
Funny thing, I’ve stopped collecting statues because the lack of space. If I had the space I think I’d collect memorabilia items but I have wanted to collect things from the Marvel and DC characters like Ironman helmet, Cap shield, Thor’s hammer and a sometime get them autographed by the actors.
I love statue collecting the most out of those 3. I have a few graded comics as well but i'm definitely more all in on the statues. You're 100% right about boxes being a pain in the ass though.
When they started to reissue the old toys that we used to have I started with that but realized then just not the same. Being made of solely plastic instead of metal and lead paint LOL just not the same. Then this wormhole of statues came about and here I am LOL
My collection is all over the place right now. Its a nice wall but its mostly carded SW figs. Itching to expand but i think we can all agree right now is not a good time money wise.
autograph memorabilia would be the best for space i only have a couple of autographed items i want get more, but i do have over hundred statues, my wife does the eye roll too...
Statues are comics are my favorite to collect at the moment. Statues because they're the best to look and I read comics most of my life. I actually found an album of yu-gi-oh cards (I thought it was a photo album). Really wishing I found it several years ago but I made a good chunk of change from them. I also purchased my first gold coin. Not jumping into that rabbit hole but always wanted to own one
I've been collecting Sports cards since I was little.... Vintage cards mainly. What I discovered was I seemed to be one of the only people buying certain cards from older eras because when it came to sell..... I wouldn't even get a nibble at giving them away. Steroids hurt just the same when I had thousands invested in key modern players & it destroyed my collection. Not to mention my fun. So nowadays I collect comics and statues for fun, Superman has 80+ years & never popped positive for anything.
I guess I’d pick memorabilia because it has the largest audience. On the other hand, it’s the one out of the three that seems to be the easiest to get scammed. Yet, no risk, no reward. Ultimately, if you pick what you enjoy than I guess you’ll have less regrets. Just chill out and enjoy the ride.
I mostly collect action figures and retro games(I have near 700). However I still do collect some comics, especially Incredible Hulk which I have over 500 issues of.
Yeah as a high end transformers collector i totally understand the box thing i keep all my boxes and there are a lot i can only imagine your boxes though they are twice the size of mine. Also space i actually had to build some custom shelves for my combiners.
I've gotten into statue collecting over the last couple of years, but my largest collection (and largest headache to my family until the statue collection gets bigger) are my books. Though I have most of the books I’ve read on kindle, my collection is made up of any book I find interesting enough to get in print (with roughly half being comics). Some books are signed, some are numbered editions, but most are nothing special to anyone other than me. No matter the genre or culture, if I like it, it stays. Fossils are another collection of mine- 1:1 whole body, skulls, claws, teeth, random chunks of petrified wood or other stones, etc… I even ended up with a Metal Earth collection since it’s something my niece and I do together... And I moved everything across the country a few years ago. At least there were no statues yet.
I have had to many hobbies over the years. Knives guns toys Comics movie memorabilia autographs skulls bones hotwheels. Just to name a few lol I think knives was probably the best in my opinion 👌
@@TheXtremeChannelMrX the worst part of the sneaker game is the hype beasts that just drive up prices and follow the herd instead of having there own style
I'm all about that statue life. Unboxing and assembly w my 12 yr old everytime one arrives. Xmas everytime one arrives and the adrenaline of stealing something as I try and,get it in the basement without the wife seeing. Involves the whole family. Lol.
it's a toss up for me between comics and statues. I have to be a bit budget minded so I can't do both usually, I do love pairing a great comic with a great statue though. Honestly I have no idea why I love statues so much...it's really a hole. Like you said, the space is a huge factor, reselling can be up and down and because I mainly stick with companies like Sideshow, if I wanted to resell I most likely don't make my money back. It's just something about them that I love! Great video Mr X.
I know statue is not the best investment, and would probably not be able to find anyone to buy mine even if I wanted to sell them but I still like them the most anyway
Nice video :) out of all the things u talked about I'd go with guns if your looking for profit as i have yet to see any prices go down, just up at different rates
I really like that question, what works best for me in collecting? If I had to just pick one thing, I'd go with my Hot wheels collection. I've been fascinated with cars since the first time I went to a car show. The quality and variety of product with Hot Wheels is just excellent, there are themes for movies/comics/ classics and so on. I also have a love of unique limited run prints, currently I have so many that I switch out my display. I still really love everything else I collect as I do think mixing it up, truly benefits a display😁
You're totally right. Comics take up far less space than statues and they're my #1 favourite. I get complaints for statues and almost every collectable is worth more with original packaging. It's a hard mindset to throw it away if you ever intend to sell them, however if you display them it takes up practically double the room. I think a half measure may be to collapse the boxes and throw away the foam. With real estate skyrocketing here it's even more of an issue.
I love collecting statues, however I don't like the fact that I can't take them with me in a situation where I would have to evacuate. In such a situation it would be way more convenient to be a collector of slabs. Being that I live in the Netherlands, -a counttry which lies completely below sea level, and continues to 'sink' with the sea level rising- this is a genuine concern for me.
Most of my collection are action figure. But I do have 3 statue. I should get the 4th statue by the end of the week and 5th in October. I mainly stick with x men action figure. Debating if I should get side show psylocke
Arcade / pinball machines and statues are THE WORST to move around. Been statue collecting for 3 years, love it and making serious choices on what to get. I’ve collected action figures, comics, sports, autographs, movie posters, blu rays, artwork (I have a B.A. in Art). I display my comics only in my room of respect sharing space around my new condo. Other collectors display their stuff all over their homes if this video segment makes Mrs. X’s eyes roll 👀 (That’s what she said!).
I don't really care for collecting comics, they are awesome though....haha...simply lacking the funds and statues look very impressive plus I don't own hundreds of them haha. Keep the great content comming Mr. X! Cheers!
I love collecting statues but like everyone else space is an issue I have a lot of autograph items mostly sports l say collect what makes you feel good not women tied up in your basement
What irritates me is why do we feel the need to keep the boxes? Why do they make the statue worth more at resale? All we do is take the statue out and hide the box away! Yet if you sell something without a box you have to be prepared for a hit financially. What's the difference between a well packaged statue in a non description box to an art box?! Why can't I take any of my star wars stuff out of its original packaging Why? Why! WWHHHHYYYYYYYY! phew now I'm OK ha ha.

I'm wanting more in statues CGC slabs, and some action figures. Hoping to focus on Dr Doom, carnage, cyborg super man, and poison ivy

For me it's definitely statues and Lego as I love displaying the things. Space is definitely an issue though.
I personally love collecting statues, comics and vinyl records/ cassette tapes..I'm here and there for autographs and art paintings
I collect miniatures and have 3d printers. My space management is out of hand but boy do I sure have a lot of cool minis.
autograph memorabilia would be the best for space i only have a couple of autographed items i want get more, but i do have over hundred statues, my wife does the eye roll too...
I spend most of my time collecting LE and military challenge coins. My only rule is I have to meet the person I trade with.
I should have asked this in the previous video but what are you using to hang the comics on the wall?
Check Amazon for comic hangers. Top result
