Same thing with Nigeria. You have to choose what you want to study before you get in, even when you don't have enough knowledge to make the best decision. It can be annoying.
It seems Digital Media definitions vary from place to place. Your digital media seems like a TV and Film production course. Where as some digital media courses are more web based and digital marketing, some are video game making too. I actually have experience in a TV and film production degree, but was looking to change into a more digital media course to get a wider scope of experience as I was worried about job prospects from strictly TV production. Video making with access to studios, combined with digital marketing and creative computer skills would be the perfect course for me.
My Digital Media is AI, video game development, 3D animation, 3D graphics, game history and mechanics and advanced object oriented programming. Along with tons more but really towards video game development. It's digital media: game arts stream. (I'm from Canada)
I do agree with you I have my own UA-cam channel but my favorite part is to edit videos and I would rather be, behind camera and film others and then edit it 😃!!!
I majored in digital media, but the job offering is tough so I had to go what was recommended and I’m taking other classes that is not part of college if I want to pursue my dreams. The classes are more expensive but worth it if you want to pursue your dream job . In some job description They say a bas degree in any art department is good though for animation so im in the right direction
I really want to major in Digital Media, but I'm scared that I'll have to do a lot of editing. I'm currently taking a Digital Video Arts Production class in highschool and I must say I suck at editing lol.
Digital Media represent!!! I didn't decide to do broadcasting until I did the college tour thanks to my dad's advice since I was honestly apathetic towards college until then
Am going to start digital media level 2 in college by this year September and am super existed. Thanks for briefing me about the course u made my day. I will upload my first day at college and my journey on the course by September on my channel...stay tuned xx
I have always had my heart set out on Music Education but now I am thinking about Digital Film. I'm debating whether to double major or make one of them a minor or just have one major. So many choices in college.
I know this is an older video, but I love your college videos! I, too, had absolutely NO idea what I wanted to study in college. I changed my major THREE times. Could you possibly do a video on how you study/studying tips? (:
i'm interest in digital media but in my country digital media major not famous, so i'm want to study in another country. but i don't have any basic in this major, is it okay? thanks, i really need advise from someone who has study in this major.
I want to be a film director/screenwriter when I’m older, but my college doesn’t offer a full film major, but a minor. Could I take a digital media major and a film studies and make my dream happen?
I really want to major in digital or electronic media, but I have my concerns. What are the most difficult aspects of the major you have encountered so far?
It's just hard to learn everything right away! There is so much info that can get pretty technical and it takes time to absorb it all. Also, everyone in your major is competing for the same jobs, so the hunt for internships can get real. I've never had an internship, but it's basically the same pool of applicants that are applying for each one because there's only so many production assistant jobs starting out, you know?
+tewsimple yeah I know I've heard that before! And what skills are used more with the major? Is it communication and speech skills? Or web and technical skills?
heyy, can I ask what kind of editing that are required a lot in Digital Media? I need more info on that because I currently enroll in this degree, but I am afraid of the editing since I have no experience in editing. thankss!
The two editing programs I used in school were Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro! Adobe is more user-friendly and Avid seems a bit more professional to me? But I'm not sure if there's anything new they're teaching these days!
kinda wanna major in digital media, but most schools near me don't offer it. :/ im really interested in photography too, is your major mostly focused on film/editing or can you take classes in other forms of digital media as well?
Yashira Winchester My major's program is mostly making short films/editing/doing studio work, but you're allowed to take classes in any major you want! that's what elective credits are for.
Hello! Its me Sabin and I am from Nepal. I have passion for film and want to study film making but i am quite confused of the course so Recently I came to know about this Digital media(Film and Video design) therefore please give me suggestion as you studied Digital media is it helpful for me to be a good film maker by studying Bachelor in Digital media.
Yes I believe so! if there's no actual film degree you can get, digital media is awesome. you'll learn the techniques and equipment to make videos and movies
I started with an introductory production class where we make short films and learn how to work in the studio. it was so fun that I decided to keep on going with the other classes in the major!
Subscribed as you have a very calm voice and made me relaxed you could earn a lot by doing Hypnosis as a career I can already tell from your voice. I hope you major goes well
thanks a lot, another question, please! you said"Around my senior year of high school right when it first started", what is the meaning of "right" in English?
Is it possible to get a job in the film or animation industry with a Digital Media degree? I'm a little worried because most of my required classes are coding based and I truly HATE coding with the grieving passion. My adviser expects me to get a programming/coding based job, but that's not what I had in mind. All I want is a job editing professional videos OR making animations (cartoons). So tell me, did I pick the wrong major?
I love how you have the option to be "undecided"! In Spain you have to choose the major when you apply to the university.
GirlyFrame Yeah! It's super nice in case people are just really not sure, then they have like 2 years to figure it out!
Same thing with Nigeria. You have to choose what you want to study before you get in, even when you don't have enough knowledge to make the best decision. It can be annoying.
College videos are so helpful since I am a senior!!!
missalyssa977 That is so exciting! Let me know how your college journey goes!

I majored in digital media, but the job offering is tough so I had to go what was recommended and I’m taking other classes that is not part of college if I want to pursue my dreams. Jessica M three times, wow! haha I hope you found what you're truly passionate about though(: and of course, I'll add it to my list!
i'm interest in digital media but in my country digital media major not famous, so i'm want to study in another country. but i don't have any basic in this major, is it okay?
thanks, i really need advise from someone who has study in this major.
What was the application process like for applying? Do you have to have a portfolio or such for the Digital Media Major?
nope, no portfolio! you don't have to get "accepted" into the major, just the college. once you're into Marquette, you can choose any major you want
I want to be a film director/screenwriter when I’m older, but my college doesn’t offer a full film major, but a minor. Could I take a digital media major and a film studies and make my dream happen?
oh for sure! that sounds about right!
LOVE YOUUU ❤️

Right now I use Adobe Premiere! but on this video, I had an older system that i don't really remember!
I'm with myself all the time 2! LOL
Subscribed as you have a very calm voice and made me relaxed you could earn a lot by doing
