    The lead singer was Bon Scott; who tragically passed away in 1980. FYI - When Bon jumped over the pulpit in this video; he actually broke his ankle.

      I love watching his reaction videos and watching people become fans in two seconds!!
      And I also love how the AC/DC fans embrace them and tell them all kinds of facts, and I learned from all of the other fans also !
      I recently saw tribute band, and I was embarrassed, I didn’t know a lot of the earlier stuff, but I have been slowly myself in the last month, I can’t believe I have all of these years to catch up on now I’m so happy !

      Breaking his ankle was part of the reason you saw them in two outfits. There’s the one they started in and what they were wearing when they came back later to finish the song after setting Bon Scott’s ankle. That’s supposed to be why Bon doesn’t move around much in the last part.

    Angus Young is the guitar guy, he`s only 18 or 19 in that vid, if you really wanna blow your mind check the 78 live version, or the Rive Plate version, the singer is Bob Scott who passed away, Brian Johnson took it on... But Angus is the star of the show..

  • @johnwilson1321
    @johnwilson1321 Рік тому +10

    It was Angus you identified, he didn’t have the school uniform on in this video as he is going with a choir boy theme to fit in with the church preacher theme going on with the singer Bon Scott. Though Angus in the very early days tried different costumes the school boy (suggested by his sister) has been his trade mark for every album since 1974. ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Angus started gigging at 16, still in his school uniform. His sister made him new ones for the stage as needed. The name ac/ dc, came from her sewing machine, ac-alternating current, dc-direct current, meaning her machine worked on batteries or plug in power. Big bro George was in the easybeats, after that folded, he and Harry Vanda stayed in the UK to be song writers. Talking to Malcom Young about a new Band, he said our little bro Angus is going to be a great guitarist. So ac/dc got 2 Young brothers. Look up flash and the Pan, hey St. Peter, for Vanda and Young. Stevie Wright from the easybeats, did their song Evie, parts 1, 2, & 3. Try the Easybeats, original Aussie pub rock, Friday on my Mind. Classic stuff..

    This clip is a bit confusing because it's like 2 clips fused together, so Angus appears in the Alter boy outfit and also in a plain black t-shirt. This is the classic line up - Bon Scott vocals, Malcolm Young guitar, Angus Young lead guitar, Cliff Williams bass and Phil Rudd drums. Malcolm & Angus are brothers. While Bon & Angus are the focus of much of the attention, the rhythm section of AC/DC (Malcolm, Cliff & Phil) is the secret of why the band sounds so good. Nothing fancy, but incredibly tight, their drive creates the foundation of the sound.

    • @sammy_dog
      @sammy_dog Рік тому

      just to add more info the reason that it is 2 different clips is that Bon Scott broke his ankle after that jump
      yes the rhythm section of this band is tighter than a fishes arsehole add Bons vocals and Angus's crazy guitar work make for one hell of a afuckingmazing band

    I make this comment a lot, I grew up in Melbourne Australia and got to see these wonderful guys so many times as a teenager in the 70’s with the brilliant Bon Scott!! How lucky we were to grow up with this music in our lives. They were just fricking amazing even in the 70’s!!! Non will always be their frontman to me, have never wanted to see them since he died. I saw the best!! The live version of this in Glasgow is epic!

    If you got the chops do the song “Let There Be Rock” from the River Plate concert December 2009. Angus does damn near 16 minutes of kicking ass guitar work and a solo in the air. Granted it is a longer video than most to get by the censors but the time flys and it’s probably their greatest performance of all time. You won’t be disappointed!!!! Just saying!!!! So says Austin Tx. 🎸🎸🎸🎸😍😍😍🥳🥳😎

    yeah, that's your guy. first with the choir suit and halo, (that thing bouncing over his head) then still him in blue jeans and t-shirt. the reason the clothing changed in the middle of the video is because whilst filming, when Bon attempted to jump over Phil Rudd the drummer, he did not land well. in fact, he "broke a leg" and was taken to hospital. at least that's what i recall. if you watch that moment closely, you can see it.

    Angus has been with the group since to be getting along with his brother Malcolm, who recently passed away, unfortunately, and he had dementia, such a sad thing that he did not remember his songs, but Angus is still playing at 69 years old !

    Angus once said in an interview that he used to listen to s old Chuck Berry records as he starting to play guitar and that he was a huge fan of Chuck and that is where he got the duckwalk thing he does on stage as a homage to Chuck as well
    AC/DC once did a cover of Berrys song School day and if you listen to many of their earlier songs it is basically the same basic 1950s rockńroll chords and beat but faster louder and a bit modernised with dist guitars and moder larger amps
    its not only hard rock its hard rockń roll and it is great
    btw other artists/ groups that have had huge hits with covers of chuck berry songs are the Beatles (rock'n'roll music and Rod Stewart (sweet little rock'n'roller) there may be others as well like Bruce Dickinson (singer of Iron Maiden) who once played a role in a Tv series as a guitarist auditioning for a job as a singer in a cnightlub and did a cover of Johnny B Good

    How have you never heard AC/DC !? AC/DC is true legends Bon and Brian are awesome ! Angus has his own line of dolls and so does Bon and Brian ! Angus was 21 or 22 there he’s 68 there now and he’s the same age as my mom and she’s from the same place he is they are both Scottish and ironically both born the same day and year and month (given) only difference she’s not related wish she was. Would be so cool to say he’s my dad or uncle but no he’s not!
