Good Video! A senior citizen elk hunter/mule deer/whitetail hunter, I basically pack everything I need for hunting and processing my kill in the field. I never take anything I don't use or need to tag and bag my kill. I don't need the extra weight. However, for my own protection, I do carry bear spray and a bear caliber revolver in addition to a good first aid kit. I reckon every hunter's backpack is packed with items relevant to the hunter.

My Kifaru Hoodlum is the ultimate day hunt pack. It’s also a great road hunt pack. It’s also a great overnight pack. Hell it’s a great 10 day back country pack too! Love my Kifaru!

Haven't seen the Prana pants for $50 in years. They are harder to find and run around $90 now.

Has anyone used the USGI medium ruck for hunting? I want to know if it will fit an elk quarter.

On water… For those not near a water supply, what is your basic recommendation for the daypack? A search online shows backpackers need roughly 2 cups or 8 ounces an hours… so methinks 12 hrs x 8 = 96 ounces of out all day. But each hunter is diff and that doesn’t count kill cleanup or water for food/coffee.

Great in depth video , BUT never wear black shirt and pants to show a black tool or object in front of your chest. The object becomes invisible! Timberline pants with stiff foam knee pads--I replace with a softer foam pad (but not too soft).

Cliff it’s no fun having soft tissue problems in your knees, and there is something you can do about it, if you choose to take charge of your well being. I don’t sell this stuff, but have been amazed by how effective it is. A company called Hyalogic makes Synthovial Seven, which is a plant based synthetic synnovial fluid. Athletes that get polymer injections have extreme pain since the body considers it an invader, but being plant based, this Synthovial Seven has no discomfort and not one side effect if you can believe it. A month’s supply give or take is a 1 ounce liquid bottle about $30, but pills are also available. Super Supplements carries it, maybe Amazon, not sure. My reading glasses actually become unnecessary when I use it, but I don’t have cataracts either, just old age blurry vision. Synnovial fluids are all throughout the body, and aging has a way of interrupting the production of them, and this product will offset that dilemma to a good degree. There’s much more to be said about it, but this is as far as I’m going. Oh, I forgot to say it’s not to be injected, its orally taken by an eyedropper into a little water or juice. Cheers.
