While I agree with most of this, but on age I believe this is incorrect. A 60 year old experienced and regular fit trekker is at a much lower risk than a 30 year old with no or limited experience. Most of these big companies get people with close to zero experience, I believe they also encourage the consumption of diamox etc., over the old fashioned acclamation, and as mentioned here, make numerous compromises, resulting in a cascading effect if the situation goes bad.
yes. some trek leaders forces you to take diamox for their personal achievement so that everyone summits. I went to kedarkantha, where the trek leader strongly suggested to take diamox for 12000 Ft summit, while on my another trek to Goechala summit 15100, I did that without diamox. So yes, they are using diamox when its not required many times.

There was no guide with them,during the most dangerous part of the trek at an altitude of 14000 to 15000 ft.The guides were in the Basecamp! What were they doing in the Basecamp? This tragedy happened entirely because of the lapse on the part of the trekking agency. All the trekkers were middle aged or sr citizens with many years of experience.Overconfidence is also a problem. They thought its a short distance and they can do it without any gears. When the blizzard came ,they had nothing to protect themselves .
You dont know anything. When all were resting in their tents these 9 were getting bored and deciced to make some fun by getting outside Neglecting their guide's instructions. When they went outside suddenly hailstorm started and they were hit by hailstones of size similar to cricket ball. They got fainted by the impact of hailstones on thier head and afterwards got hypothermia

I respectfully pay homage for the departed souls. The remarks in the vedio are guide lines. I want add that it is not the age but body fitness that matters. People should also understand the basic difference between Traveling, Pilgrimage, Trekking and Mountaineering. Touring and Traveling are always in comfort zone and to not require much practic of outdoor activities. Lurking ideas imitating glamorous moves shown in pics atrects people of different lifestyle and thus they may fall in such accidents. In the Himalayan States where we find lot of natural water there most of the visiting people search for bottled water and surprisingly in the Himalayan region the visiting people do not adhere to the natural system of living at such fragile and weather sensitive locations
Yes , I agree to get money most of subcontractors do such practices. Further proper acclimatization is not there . Sufficient food, clothin , satellite phone , Rescue team is must must must there .
Your video was very good, But what if rescue is needed, even after all the preparations? We need a rescue team which is already present in that climate.
It’s important to build proper shelters at various places where trekkers can take shelters in case of bad weather. Their location must be known to the trekkers/guides/organisers..

I lost two of my closest friends in this incident.A satellite phone could have saved their lives.I came to know that the base camp came to know about the incident after 24 hours.That is serious lapse on th trekking company
I have been on this route several times. The route they took was not correct. This is not how the route shoukd be approached. We have had tragedies since 1990 on this route but nobody listens
That's why trekking in Nepal is more safer than in UK where no facilities are available enroute. it's better they learn basic etiquette in tourist management
I went on a basic trek (Nag Tibba), and one of the trekkers with me got sick. He started vomiting and shivering very badly, so I asked our guide for some medicine. He said he wasn't carrying any medicine and was pressuring us to hike to the summit so he could descend and get the next batch up again. They're putting the trekker's life at risk. It's better to research and get your personal safety gear before you go for a trek.

Not a good analysis, nothing that you mentioned will be helpful in saving lives if weather suddenly goes bad. No where in the world there are so many rules needed for trekking that you are proposing. Rather there should be better weather mapping systems and emergency evacuations in place if things go bad. Also i dont think travel aggregators are responsible, it is always driven by cost cutting otherwise they would go bankrupt.
