I am thrilled you made this video. Because my husband thinks I'm a hoarder of boxes, etc. What does he know? Nothing, especially when it comes to crafting, lol. I showed him the end results. Of this fabulous tissue box. He said, "Oh wow, I would have never known it was a tissue box." Well, duh, lol. He also called me a hoarder of diet coke and cereal boxes. Well, at least until he saw the 4 junkjournals I made. It shut him up real quick, lol.
My husband has given up on me. We live in a very tiny house and he knows if I had to make a choice, I’d keep my craft supplies. I mean I love him, but seriously, he’s old and certainly doesn’t thrill me like a digital, ink pad, stamps or an empty cereal box. 😊
@robinsutton4952 I am right there with you. I've been a crafter for over 30 years. This means I've collected a ton over those years. He's called me a crafting hoarder. I told him. Hey, if you don't like it, then there's the door. Don't act all brand new, as if it all this just appeared one day. I, too, live in a small apartment. My crafts take up a lot of my living room and an entire wall in my bedroom. I'd never rid my craft supplies for him or anyone else. This is what makes and keeps me satisfied and happy. Trust me. He would never want to see me without any of my crafts. He better run and hide. 1-2 Freddie's coming for you 3-4 you better lock your door
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
My husband and sons are the same. I was so furious when my husband threw a load of my saved boxes out when I was in hospital, he didn’t think I’d notice! Oh how wrong he was 😂 I shall bide my time and get revenge by throwing a bag of his wires and electronic bits away when he’s at work 😅
Now I can tell my hubby I’m making journals out of the Kleenex boxes I’ve been saving for years, and getting them out of the house. Bet he won’t believe me because I’ve sure said that before, but he’d be wrong. 😂 Yay Margreth for coming up with such an incredible idea. Thanks so much my sweet friend!🦋
I love it! Out of your comfort zone suits you well, Love! Absolutely adorable! 🩷
Who would have thought that you could take a tissue box and make a journal. You of course. So cool. And it doesn't end up in the landfill. Love it.
To say it was out of your comfort zone, wow, margreth, you have made a beautiful journal, absolutely stunning 😍 🥰😘
Love you & Natasa! 💞 💞
It definitely is cutesy & I love it! Great job!
Oh Margreth, you do make me laugh! My brain is hurting, LOL! No, really it’s loving 🥰 what you have made. You are correct, this is definitely different to your usual style. However, this journal is gorgeous. I love have you have ‘embraced’ the ‘white’. It is good to work outside of our normal comfort zones. Well Done! I just love ❤️ your videos due to their relaxed style and your sense of humour. Keep on being yourself, you are a wonderful breath of fresh air. 👏🏻🐨🦘🇦🇺
Oh!!! 💝 Très romantique....!!! Time passes to quickly. I'm addicted to this videos series. Thank you Margreth for sharing 🥰
WOW what an AMAZING project. Guess I need to save tissue boxes and try doing this. Fantastic project
Darlene is amazing/darling. So sweet and what a fab idea. I love watching Natasha from Treasure Books, she has just as much of a gift as you do with all of your ideas.
I have also been saving empty tissue boxes since Natasha’s video three years ago, and in fact, just put two more away yesterday. I love your interpretation and the fact that you went out of your comfort zone to create something from materials you would not ordinarily use. When you came to the spine part, I was thinking, “Cut it in half!”, and, sure enough, that’s exactly what you did! Are we related? 😂 Thank you, Margreth, for the endless inspiration and entertainment! ❤
I have been saving tissue boxes for a long time but never found one this beautiful!❤ love the way you did the spine reduction and the sweet beads. Thank you for this video😊
Now when I buy tissues I will have a better look at the boxes. Looks great
Miss Margreth, so happy that you took my suggestion about the tissue box. Of course, it does look like the Netherlands even has prettier boxes of tissue to, compared to the U. S. A. 🤣. Any way this did turn out very pretty. Would have liked to have seen you decorate it though. Thank you for sharing and God Bless you and your family. 🥰💖💖💖💖💖👍👍👍👍👍(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
I love that you were working ‘outside of your comfort zone’! I love the end result- a completely different vibe- pretty and romantic. ❤x
Love Love Love your journal! So pretty, the papers are just lovely. The beads on the spine and the blue bow!! Just love it! Thank you for taking us along today!
I always buy the cube tissue boxes. I'll keep an eye out for a rectangle one!😊 Never been a girly girl who likes a lot of pretty and cute (she said, looking around her lounge at all the papercrafted floral displays, mostly in pinks and blues😂) but I am in love with this journal. The beaded spine and those lovely papers are just gorgeous. Brilliant. TFS❤
I will never look at any ole tissue box the same after this. You made it a beautiful journal (of course). Thank you. Super cool.
Such a pretty project. Nice to see some springlike pages
I love this. Thanks for embracing a different style for those of us who love cute. Now I have to shop for pretty tissue boxes.
Beautiful... That tool is called a .... "Stylus..."... 🎉🥂.... Xx 🌹
Sincerely Sincere Miss Judith ❤ ✨ 🌹 🐝 😎
It’s also an awl on one side and the ball end can be used to emboss paper. Of course there are awls with just the sharp end
What have you done with Margreth?! This is not grunge, this is super cute!! Haha, i love it. I am emptying my tissuebox! 😂
Dear Margareth this was totally not your usual style but as always you totally made it your own. I loved it, well done 🎉💕
Margreth, this tissue box journal is absolutely stunning, and it was so good watching you make a gorgeous journal of a tissue box. Tfs🎉😊
You are a very clever crafter. I really enjoyed today’s transformation. 😊
Margreth, you continue to amaze me with all of your ideas. Love this project. ❤❤
I hate white around the embellishments too! I fussy cut them whenever I need to. I love the idea of putting them on a white background though. I may have to leave some white pages in my next journal. I’m currently working on a strawberry themed journal, so I’m going to add some white! 🍓
Do you have the Summers bounty kit from Michelle @thejunkjournalstudio? It has amazing strawberry ephemera 🥰
Cutezie Y E S !! This was fun to watch you play. I know how you love your grunge.
Darling is so Beautiful!! Thanks for the idea.
WOW this is fantastic. It is so pretty and simple enough. I love the elastic binding also. Thanks again for sharing your talent.
Not use to seeing you make something so girly, but not disappointed. Lovely.
Another clever creation from junk. What a great month it’s been. Thank you ❤❤❤❤
Stunning Margreth, I’m going to hunt out some gorgeous tissue boxes and have a go! Thanks for showing us xxx💕
Your strategy for getting the washi tape centered on the spine is brilliant! That will come in handy for sure!! And I love the journal. I've been wondering what to do with all those tissue boxes!!
I wish we had beautiful tissue boxes. I will try covering one and see what happens.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this so much!
Your tool is a stylus. Beautiful journal! Your nails are also beautiful!
This is so pretty!! I always look for the pretty tissue boxes too but also get scenic ones.
I'm in love with this journal!!!
Thank you for showing a tissue box!!
My nxt ones will use tissue boxes.
Like I need to collect anything else , tissue boxes here we go ! ❤❤❤❤
I just used a tissue box with a rectangular window. I made it into a shaker window using the plastc cover from
makeup. I used lace to line the sides.,, and birds a roses papers. Mine was experimental. Thanks for showing us how to do this.
Omg i looooooveeeee the bead idea! I always do dangles with beads on the dangles but i loooovveee on the spine! Sooo cute!
Darlene is so beautiful. About 5 min before I started watching you I decided I wanted to have a cup of tea. When I opened the box it was so beautiful inside so I put it straight away in my craft room 😂
Hey, I use tissue boxes as well, to make wallet style card stationary sets. Thanks for sharing.
😄 I agree with you, it's a bit too cutesy for me but I never knew a tissue box could look so brilliant! Love the binding on the spine, I think I need to try that ❤
You’re a very versatile woman what a wonderful journal.hard to believe that you manage to do something, not hard to believe you did it thank you so much for sharing xx
Great Idea! ❤
Lovely as usual and I loved you named it Darlene, my sisters named that passed away 2 years ago!🙏🏻💜
Margreth , your creative mind is amazing. I love this journal cute or grungy. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Loved this tutorial, so outside your comfort zone, brilliant Margreth.. I love that you've embraced it and made a fantastic job. Thank you for sharing. Crafty hugs Jacqui 😺😺💖
What a great idea! I was looking at an empty tissue box today, wondering what could I do? Ya know, absolutely everything gets a second look before throwing away!! I can make something with that!! 😅 Thanks for the inspiration Angela!! You're so much fun!!
This isn't the typical style I'm drawn to either but it turned out so cute! Love it! I might have to embrace the cutsie and the white too. lol
Leuk idee met de tissue doos,
Echt heel iets anders, dan we gewend zijn, maar SUPER eindresultaat
This is absolutely wonderful! ❤ I love all the sift colors and how you used the paper pack for decoration. The original finish box goes so well with the pack you chose! It's just gorgeous, and you did such a fantastic job going outside your normal "grunge zone" LOL ❤❤❤
Adorable. Another must try. I use elastic binding a lot. Thanks Lou Ann
Love Darlene!! You did a terrific job on her!!
My downfall is frozen food boxes because we can't recycle them here in the US (they're plastic coated). It's SO hard to throw them away! I use them instead of chipboard a lot and I have used some of the smaller ones as journal covers. There's just something so satisfying in turning utilitarian boxes into something else!
Beautiful project in a style that’s not typical you imho. But yiu make everything so pretty. Holy cow! Literally today in my office, I replaced the tissue box with a new one. Empty one was very pretty with blue lavender flowers. I brought it home thinking I could make tags or something. Turned the TV on when I got home and saw this video!! It might take me 3 yrs to get to making it as I have so many other projects on the list lol. Wrt to acetate, those in the USA can buy flowers at Target and they come wrapped in clear acetate like paper with white botanical prints! I’ve been saving those too lol. And to boot, I scored a box of inkjet printable acetate sheets at the thrift store just on Monday! I think this project needs to happen sooner as I have everything . Tfs!!!
Absolutely love the journal! There is nothing wrong with cutesy every now and then. Darlene is a perfect name. I laughed out loud when you said your brain was hurting cause it was too cute😅 . Take care, hugs from Indiana USA.
As I have been developing my crafting style I find that I love super dirty grungy and really romantic styles....I always laugh because they are vastly different styles but it's what I like 🤷♀️🤎🩷
I have seen Natasha’s video and I am working on a project with tissue boxes. I work at a cemetery and there are tissue boxes in our mausoleum, and many of the families have put pictures of their loved ones on the crypts. I am taking pictures of the pictures and using the empty tissue boxes as picture frames. I am still in the collection process, tbh, but it’s on the project list! Thank you for this video to remind me to work on it some more 😊
I love this journal!! I would love to see you create some more using some regular papers. TFS❤❤❤❤❤
Totally not you, but you made it your own. It’s absolutely lovely. I too like that kind of binding style. I thoroughly enjoyed the process. ❤😊
You must get out of your comfort zone more often so we can see what is hidden in your uncomfortable zone. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME STUFF I see.
Hi sweet Margreth! Just showed start of this video to my husband, to show you are saving kleenex/tissue boxes and repurposing them, into junk journals. I have some I saved and some I had cut up. Unfortunately he still doesn’t understand! Looked at me sort of wierd …. 😂 LOL 😂 BTW I LOVE ❤️ this project! Sooooo pretty 🤩 Thank you again for sharing your creativity. You’re awesome. God bless.
Wow, just stunning. I can tell you stepped out of your comfort zone here. As always some of the details that you came up with are genius!
I love watching all your videos. Love the name Darlene since it's my daughter's name.
I think this is absolutely beautiful. I have never used a collection of papers before but think it’s time I tried. It’s amazing. Thank you so much.
Oh! My Goodness, what I have been looking to do for a long time… THANK YOU SO MUCH. Very romantic. You are amazing. Getting my supplies ready right now.
Oh this is absolutely beautiful… thanks for sharing all your amazing ideas! Lovely!😊❤
So happy to see you using the tissue box! I have made a small journal with a tissue box and used the same binding method but I love the beading you did on the outside, very cleaver! Thanks for sharing ❤
Darlene is stunningly beautiful!! I'm normally "the grungier the better," but I thoroughly enjoyed watching you make her. I love that collection, too. I wish i could find some of those border punches at my thrift stores but so far I've found 1 off brand that won't cut right (probably why it was at the thrift store) this was a great video and I've enjoyed this series alot! TFS 😊
I love it. It's gorgeous!
When I cut a spine in half like that, I sew my signature into the inside half of the spine before gluing them together. Love this journal using a Kleenex (tissue) box.
Great idea 😊👍🏻
My favorite June Junk so far!!
Also a great idea, ty!
Great idea. I usually make a floating spine and sew my signatures in, then cover the inside of the cover. I recover the floating spine with flaps, and glue in.
I love this! I've been saving tissue boxes for years but other than cutting them up for tags or journaling cards I could never figure out how to make an actual journal. You're a genius! And very funny. This has to be the prettiest tissue box ever. Never saw sny that pretty here in America. So happy to have found you. You're delightful!
