The Shetland Museum has a kid's section, plus some of the exhibits are pretty cool. One thing I wish I had gone to was the Up Helly Aa Exhibition, which feature a Viking boat and costumes used for the festival. www.visitscotland.com/info/see-do/up-helly-aa-exhibition-p245171 If you have the budget, a tour to the Shetland ponies might be in order. Plus there's lot of uphill alleyways to challenge themselves on. And there are some pretty cool bookstores too: shop.shetlandtimes.co.uk/ I hope this helps. It IS an small, old town with few parks or kid's attractions.
Thx for the video.
Going there in August on a cruise.
You're welcome. Have a great time! We really enjoyed Lerwick.
Great video!
Thank you!

I'm really sorry, but I can't speak to those issues. We only had a brief visit
Looks lovely for mature travelers. I’m Traveling there with a bunch of kids ages 7-15. I’m afraid that they will hate it. Any suggestions?

Let’s hope the cruise people don’t take over like they did Orkney. I won’t be going to Orkney again.

Me too! Definitely want to come back.
Shetland is NOT North East of Scotland
!!
Shetland IS the North East of Scotland!!
Noted. Thank you.
Yes it is North East of Scotland. We may be forcefully ruled by Scotland but we're NOT part of Scotland and that's official.
