Yesterday was Mother’s Day here in the United States. We hope that if you celebrate it, you had a wonderful day. I’m so grateful for my Mom, things weren’t always easy between us but there was always love and as an adult, I cherish our relationship. Love You Mom!
Today’s tutorial is an easy one but only works with long hair. Sometimes you might find yourself needing to get your hair out of your face, or off of your neck. Then you realize you have no hairbands, clips, not even a pencil to hold it! Well with this little “hack” you can still put your hair into a pretty sturdy temporary bun. Texas can be very hot and one day at the Houston Zoo Graycie needed to put up her hair but had forgotten to bring anything and I left my purse locked in the trunk of our car. This method saved us from having to walk all the way back to the car and through security! It stayed up for the rest of the time we were there! We call this style the “No Accessory Bun Hack”, give it a try and let us know what you think!

This is also known as a nautilus bun. If you use as few as 2 fingers, even finer haired people can do it.

So it will work with super long 1A straight hair? That's the hair type I'm working with. Lol
@@auramarie7318 maybe? When I was first learning (2a) I found I had the most success when I just finger combed my hair back. This gave me enough grip that my hair could hold onto itself. You can also shove a pen/pencil/hair stick/fork under the center portion (down inside each side of the loop).

This is so adorable! And it totally worked when I tried it! I love your bun tutorials. I’d love to see your take on a braided ballerina bun or “laced braided bun”. I think you’ve done something like it before but an update would be awesome!

Oooh, I learned this one a couple of years ago, also from a video! It's SO handy! My hair is only mid-back, but this is Texas and it's just stupid-hot right now, so I'm making good use of it. With my hair not being as long as Gracie's, my bun ends up really tight, so I can do just about anything without it coming loose at all.

Very cute!! At first, I thought you were going to wrap the hair a few times, then pull it through the wrist loop. But, I realized that would have left a pony hanging down, and this was a bun style. I love it. 😊

Hi, what you did is called a Nautilus Bun. 🤗I like it that you did and show it twice, when for the first time, the loop became too wide. It is so difficult to find the right size for the loop. Gracie’s hair is so beautiful and thick! My hair is waist length but really fine so this didn’t work for me, the bit wrapped around the wrist was too big to hold the rest, but my friend and I had so much fun trying this on our break at work regardless of the results. Thank you 😊

Look up the Nautilus bun and you can see how to use as few as 2 fingers to get this, though a hair stick/pen/pencil might help
My hair used be like this when I was her age it’s still very long like down as far as my pockets on my jeans and I’m 37 and no way will I be cutting it lol my daughters hair is the same

I do this all the time with my tailbone length hair, it’s also called nautilus bun in the long hair community, it will stay pretty solid for a long time, but I push a stick inside when I need to exercise🐒
