    As a construction Engr this technology amazes me..we do have seismic rubbers on every floor but not on the basement..the building may dance but will not break during a earthquake

    Earthquake -proof? is a very dangerous term to use unless your building was tested with at least magnitude 8.0 earthquake and the building has zero crack/damage only then you can claim it to be earthquake-proof.

    • @petroleumjelly1488
      @petroleumjelly1488 3 роки тому +1

      No, no. California typically does not have 8.0 magnitude quakes. Usually a high 7.0 at most. Also, earthquake-like forces are tested before construction. In addition, a building can be earthquake-proof and still need a few repairs. The whole point is so the *people* in the building are safe from the structure collapsing onto them.
