Thanks for your clear instruction videos. What are the symptoms to know that I need to do valve adjustment? or in other words, when do I need to do it?
Every 600 miles is recommended but you'll hear the valve chatter buzzing with the rpms when they do loosen up. Loose valves restrict the air flow because the valve is not being fully pushed open. Often you'll have low engine power and the engine will want to bog down when dumping the throttle open. When the valves are super loose and the engine is about to fail, you'll notice the engine will quit when dropping the scooter down off it's center stand.
So im installing a big bore kit 100cc on a 49cc. I read somewhere to do the intake .004 and exhaust .006. Now i watched a lot of your vids and also bought from your store before because of the knowledge. Should i do .004 all around or 004 and 006 mind im installing an a9 cam
Hello I did a adjustment on a buddy 150cc I manually rotated engine on the wheel ( with chain ) it had a line on each side ( left - right ) and on top it had a number marking when I rotated again a hole appears on it ....so I rotated it with lines parallel with valves and hole on top side that was top center I go and adjust them .. rotate engine two cycles back to top center measure again and the shims fit fine so I put it together and no start .. was having starting issues now i really have starting I even covered carb opening before it would start up now nada ☹️ should I of used the other side with the marking and not use the small hole as top center ?? Guide ..
DanieMations I assume u have no knowledge or mechanical skill the other person who told me bout the marking was right the scooter runs better and faster .. surprised but I’m glad I did not listen to your advice ..
nice vid man, however i adjust them at 3 spots. Tdc, one valve closed and the opposed valve open and the compression stroke when both are closed. Did it last week just before the oil change 10w40. Runs smoother and your taking in account for lobe wear on all sides. Realy, before all this it was bogging like crazy, now i can ride the living shit out this little 50cc without any problems. Ofcourse remove all the emmision crap(the dutch authorities dont care about it)and rerouted the valve cover hose above the engine with a breather filter.
Hey, I can’t remember what it sounded like before but now it sounds kind of “clicky”. She is running good but that worries me a little bit. I might just be tripping out since I realize now there is a little gap, I set it at .004 with feeler gauges.
if there is too much play in the valves, the valve will open later, close earlier and the valve wont open as deeply. So more clearance is less power. If the valves are too tight, the valves will not close all the way, leading to backfires and/or exploding carburetors
I recently checked my valve lash and there was very little clearance so I adjusted to .004 for int and exh, now I have a loud clicking noise. I set to .004 and turned engine around to TDC to confirm it was good. What should I do now to cut down on the noise?
Hi RW I have a 2019 Keeway Fact Evo 50 which is - I believe - an EFi GY6 engine and the alloy valve cover has 2 (an upper and a lower) large inspection ports (large cast alloy caps with hex nut heads) to check/adjust the cold valve clearance. This EFi engine does not have a EGR pipe as on this video at 0:41
Ok bro I did the valve adjustment and it's perfect to me it idles perfectly thank you for that. The air fuel It's true strew is at stock location. I have aftermarket exhaust coldair intake change my main jet from 108 to 120 I gave your gear up setup 10gram weight and the 1000 clutch setup. Hi, my scooter was making noise, I did the valve clearance and it was solved, but after two days it's like before again. What could be the causes and how could I resolve it?
This not going to petcock, petcock hose are connected to intake manifold and to carb, they are vacume hoses. This hose can be free( sometimes little filter on it or to airfilter box)
Hello, wondering if this will work, like it did for my Ktm My feelers somehow where exposed to a corrosive and are no longer useful, a trick I learned on my Ktm was to do it by the turns. Wondering if i can go down to .001 and roll the flywheel over and see if im feeling compression or if thats too small of a gap?
i checked and double checked TDC and rolled the flywheel over a few times and rechecked gap at .002 before startingup. I even ordered a replacement rocker arm assembly thinking that maybe the one that was in there had failed, but not it.
