11 RAILROADS and 37 TRAINS!!! Most INSANE Railfanning OF MY LIFE in Birmingham, Alabama!!

This video shows just how great Birmingham is for railfanning. Most every railroad goes through there! BNSF, NS, and CSX all have their own tracks, while UP and KCS run countless run throughs over NS to reach Norris Yard in Irondale. This was DEFINITELY the craziest railfanning day of my life... I have never seen 37 trains in one day before, AND ELEVEN railroads is a new record for me as well...
Railroads seen are Norfolk Southern (NS), CSX Transportation (CSXT), Kansas City Southern (KCS), Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF), Union Pacific (UP), Amtrak, Canadian National (CN), WAMX (In service with shortline Alabama Southern RR), Alabama & Tennessee River Railway (ATN, another shortline through town), HLCX, and NKCR. The ATN units where both ex-Southern Pacific and one still sported the bloody nose paint!!
Throughout the day we also caught multiple downtown meets and got some nice hornshows!
So, if you're looking for downtown meets, tons of trains, and a wide variety of class I's and shortlines, I definitely recommend Birmingham as a place to railfan!!
