we have shit stadiums. The closest thing we have to a modern stadium is . Christchurch will get thier new 30k multipurpose stadium which looks good. Auckland needs a new 50k stadium that can be used as a multipurpose stadium. It a city with over a million people yet Its an embarrassment that Eden park is still used for All black games. Each of the 3/4 major NZ cities should ideally have two world class stadiums.
It is such a Shame that the Christchurch City Council has down sized the new Christchurch Stadium to the size of the Yarrow Stadium in New Plymouth! So Christchurch, New Zealand's Second Largest City (Yes Christchurch has a Greater Population then Wellington, plus Lower Hutt, plus Upper Hutt combined) without counting Darfield, Lincoln, Rollerston, Kaiapoi, Rangiora etc) is going to have a Stadium that is the size New Plymouths Stadium! New Plymouth has a Population of 57,000 compared to Christchurch's 400,000. The Population of Canterbury is 645,900 (June 2020). So now our very own City Council has stabbed us in the back by downsizing our New Stadium to the size of New Plymouths what have we got to say to them? Jake Mc Millan at least we know you were one of the saboteurs, now lets find out who the remaining 4 were. Currently they are shivers looking for a spine to run up!
do we not have engineers in the country that know who to build 'symmetrical' stadiums?? ...they look so ugly when these 'stadiums' have one major stand or have two major stands facing each other but look so different
i really feel the All Blacks deserve a new stadium built 50000 capacity isnt enough for the people of New Zealand or the All Blacks at minimum their stadium needs 70000
We cant even fill Eden park unless it Is an all black match. I do agree we need a new stadium at the waterfront and 60,000 max. But I would far rather make more good stadiums around nz because our stadiums a dated like cet arena, Rotorua international stadium and Nelson

How big was it suppose to be?
A 40,000 seat stadium with no roof would cost about half the price of a 30,000 multi purpose stadium with a roof. What would you rather?
