  • Ash Creek is the site of the most recent recorded meteorite fall in the United States (February 15, 2009) with a daytime fireball recorded on camera. In this episode, Geoff and Steve will follow clues provided by the locals to uncover the mysterious rocks of this fall.
    -
For thousands of years, meteorites have slammed into the Earth's surface carrying an invaluable record of the origins of our solar system. But finding meteorites on Earth, some buried over centuries by thick layers of dirt and sediment, is no easy task.
Meteorite hunters Steve Arnold and Geoff Notkin travel to some of the most remote locations around the world to explore the scientific and financial value of meteorites. Featuring treks in Chile, Sweden, Australia, the US, Mexico, and more, these meteorite men meet with top scientists, geologists, astronomers, and meteorite experts to reveal a deeper understanding of how meteorites have helped to build our solar system and shape our planet.

Best place to find a meteorite at home is in your rain gutter. As a roof tiler, I've found a few that hit a roof and rolled off into the gutter. The gutter is a sortof concentrator for the large surface area of a roof.

You do know they have a good value and the market is in real demand of them..Colllect them then sell the to the "Meteor Men" They are in Utah Arizona and are passion backed by science and 2 really genuine guys. Valuation is based on science, rarity, size, material and from which meteor it came from You could have a real rarity that it is not only valuable from the list above. An unknown or historically related one may be worth even more and adds to that, so it may allow us to progress scientifically or contain unknown science.

Don't be fooled into thinking all meteorites are magnetic. That's only the iron nickel ones. Standout features are, but not exclusive to: a burnt crust, pitting in the surface that looks like Swiss cheese, a glossy melted appearance, and a Rusty colour.

It burned bright and almost green. If I had to estimate the landing, I would say between Rensselaer and Brook Indiana. Nice big ol fireball.

Some said it's carbonado Black diamond but I don't know it's true.but it sliced a mirror when I tried to sliced it in half. I don't wanna bring it to labs for they might confiscate it. The agency here is offering 20,000 pesos who could point the exact crash site. Why just now I decided to send a mssg if you could help me.

*In all the pools of water near the areas they were locating fragments, (warning, noob question), instead of using a tiny magnet couldn't you use a strong much larger magnet on a rope similar to magnet fishing where you toss it out in the water way and see what comes out attached to a much more powerful magnet just in case some larger pieces also made it into the pools leaving areas unexplored by earlier hunters?*

At the 8:10 point you sound like you can figure out where the meteorite is BASED ON ONLY ONE VIDEO??? That can't triangulate Anything. You don't know if it was moving left or right. You'd have to have at least one more video from some other angle.

Meteorite is a rocket shot from angles to prevent jinns to get closer to the last sky, some Sheikh and magicians are using jinns to cover information about humans

The point when you first see the meteor is a waypoint the last position scene is a waypoint and the recording position
      is a waypoint
      Direction gives you trajectory
Time of flight recorded indicate miles per hour
      it’s not a bad start

      Fossil of what?

if you truly have a meteorite with a fossil it it you would be the most famous and richest person. That would be proof of life beyond earth. I would be highly skeptical that it is a meterorite with a fossil inside. Good lucks to you and I hope it turns out to be real, you'd have hit a lottery jackpot with it.

Do you know they are meteorites, usually you can check yourself. Meteorites are never porous, they are heavier than you would expect, and have a black crust on them. Test them with a magnet.
