Corey, I appreciate you having me one. I would let to be able to discuss these things with you more another time. I didn’t want to interject or speak too much, since it is your channel and I wanted to be respectful. Because there are many points I wanted to make and offer you some counters. 🙏🏽
Great convo between you 2, even though I side with Corey’s views you showed humility and were very respectful. I will say in the future i would like to see you use more scripture instead of appealing anecdotally to the audience. Also the pnuematika is what we as believers should be desiring not the charismata
@ I appreciate your response. Thank you. Yeah, I didn’t want to be rude and overstep how much I spoke and interjected. This is his platform. I am a guest. I wanted to respect that to utmost. And I knew I was limited on time, since there were others waiting, and therefore any text I would have appealed to we would not have been able to look at and dive into adequately and sufficiently. So I had to be selective in what I asked Corey.
@ I would have loved to dive into the text and exegete passages. But Corey had a goal and direction for these live callers, so I suspected that would not have been a viable option. Perhaps in the future we can get into the, if he would be so kind to allow me on again. 🙏🏽
Prophet Greg, how do you know you are a Prophet? Did God reveal this to you? Is it a feeling you have? Is it due to the fact you have dreams and visions?
Satan does not know our thoughts, nor can they read our hearts. The scripture plainly says only God knows what is in the human heart. In fact Paul gives an example of prophesy as the thoughts of hearts being exposed. I think it's in Corinthians. The Holy Spirit is the One that gives a prophetic word to someone. Only He knows the thoughts of a human heart. He lives inside us believers. If He wants to speak, He will speak.
Your insight is spot on: only God knows the heart, and the Holy Spirit reveals what He chooses through prophecy or other spiritual gifts. Satan cannot read our minds or hearts, but he observes and schemes based on external cues
Satan don't know our thoughts!!!! God is so powerful he know our thoughts before we think of wow!!! Satan study our padding and behavior... And Satan knows our past which is called familiar spirits
Amen, Corey. Listening to you break down spiritual gifts today hit home. It just makes sense-they’ve got to line up with scripture. Truth is, if it’s a prophecy from God, it’s got to be 100% spot on. No room for mistakes there. 🙏🙏🙏
A true prophet won’t mind being questioned by Scripture. If they get angry, arrogant, or defensive / offensive to your “Scriptural” questioning, leave them and move on. God will not give prophecy that goes against Scripture or Spiritual Righteousness. I had a so-called prophet that told my best friend’s wife to divorce him because she considered him an unbeliever. We had a scriptural discussion that night and then so-called prophet would not even meet with me. Be careful not to worship the creation over the Creator (Romans 1:25), that’s the devils of this world best weapon.
they would rather falsely hold to something they believe is supernatural! Forgetting that God gave his word/commandments before he gave signs & wonders or anything to prove it was actually his Word in truth ! Deut 13:1-4. Point being; Believing God’s word has always been the issue with humanity, leaving him with the burden of proof, until he was finished giving his Completed Script with Full Disclosure to all of humanity!
That was some straight shooting Corey and I appreciate your stance on prophecy or having a word from the Lord. I 100% used to dream dreams that came true. I don't mean a vague dream, i mean very detailed. On one instance I told a friend of mine about a guy she met and what he looked like. When it hit me that non of these dreams, or story telling, were Honoring God or in any eay was bringing glory to His Name, I asked the Lord's forgiveness and never had another dream or story to tell like those again. Someone might say that I was afraid and laid that "gift" aside. No, I stopped listening to the enemy. Because why would God give me a dream that went nowhere and did nothing for anyone but made me feel like I did something special. Gosh, I thank the Lord for opening my eyes. Thanks again for the video Cory!!
Great Great Point! Cory YOUR point is irrefutable. These so called profits are just trying to put themselves as some sort of God themselves. They want the Glory for themselves. Those gifts would be used where they will point unbelievers to JESUS.
@@ProphetGreg94 I've seen you on other posts of Corey and I respect your balance. I respect that you desire to examine all things instead of accepting the normal spoon feed that some want us to accept. I didn't like when Corey moved the goal post when you mentioned you prophesying to a stranger and then that stranger giving glory to God but Corey tried to partially negate it. There are examples of personal prophecy in the bible although it isn't often it is there. The other thing that reformed theology needs to consider is that prophets of old covenant are judged the same way but yet people want to stone the prophets of new
@@elizabethdanner3681 likewise, I’ve had people tell me specific things about my past, prayers only uttered to God, and specific prophetic words about my future that came to pass. Corey doesn’t believe in the manifestation of the Holy Spirit. It is what it is. He leans more towards an intellectual and scholarly understanding of God’s word than a spiritual understanding. It’s legalism plain and simple. We just need to pray that his eyes are opened.
God using mere mortals to lead someone to Christ and folks growing in the Lord because of sound doctrine is the Manifestation of the Holy Spirit...I stand with Corey...People want the gifts more than the giver of All gifts....the greatest gift of All is Jesus!
I am just blown away at the "18:00 minute marker" where you guys are arguing about false prophets & prophecy,🤨 while missing the fact that God's promised "Malachi 4:5-6 Prophet, Elijah" is traveling the earth raising cripples from the dust, while declaring "Repent! the Messiah is Coming"...like the saying goes.. 'There is none so blind as those who will not see"
Corey, a few years ago my brother called me and asked me to pray for him and his wife. In the middle of me praying, it came to me that she would be pregnant before the end of the year, this was about springtime. Though I was reluctant in telling him would you believe that they called me in December to tell me that they were pregnant. This was not a first for me, would you call that a prophecy?? BTW my nephew is now 4 years old.
Amen, I too dream dreams that have come to past. I wouldn't consider myself a prophet but prophetic It's sad he don't believe we will do greater works as the word says
4:31 I hear you my guy. I feel like these arguments seem to boil down to semantics. “Spirit of xyz” could literally be boiled down to the “similar essence of xyz”. However, I feel like th wording of certain things throw people off, but I feel like for some of these things, we are all talking about the same thing.
@@aprilechols184 yeah you don’t necessarily have announce it I guess, but are you giving the same energy to people who call themselves Pastor so and so?
Nothing wrong with that but Jesus did say in Mark 16:15-18 that we should all preach the gospel and signs WILL follow BELIEVERS! Anyone who believes & is saved should be casting out demons, laying hands on the sick, speaking in tongues etc. So you agree that you should preach the gospel but why are you against the rest of what Jesus instructed believers to do? Why take one part of the verse and ignore the rest? Anyone who is against the gifts of the Spirit is actually against God. Corey is hyper critical of anyone who operates in the gifts of the spirit. Just because he doesn't operate in any of the gifts of the spirit doesn't mean that other Christians don't. He's on here teaching Christians about the bible but he's clueless on many of the topics he teaches on.
yea corey you're off on this one . I can show in scripture multiple times where the spirit move and no one knows Jesus even tells us in part of the born again experience that we do'nt know when its goin g to happen . this is way off base
A good leader will teach you that you don’t give words of direction. In other words, if you have a gift of prophecy you are only delivering words that strengthen, encourage or comfort the person, in accordance with scripture. No directional words about job, relationships, moving… none of that. It almost always confirms something to the person or encourages them in something they have been praying about or discouraged in. That was my experience anyway.
I'm a lil skeptical of most charismatic churches/preachers who push the spiritual gifts on their congregation. Many say you aren't saved if you don't speak in tongues. So it forces people to speak jiberish or nonsense to seem as if they are speaking in tongues. Shouldn't tongues sound like an actual language? When it comes to Prophecies I think these bible says to wait till it comes true to judge a prophet.
I agree on excess and error. we don’t necessarily wait for prophecy to come to pass in order to judge it. That is simply one of many criteria we use to judge prophecy. I think the correct position is to commit to what the Bible is saying rather than merely ‘avoiding excess’. The best way to avoid excess is to abandon the teaching on gifts completely, but that would also miss the correct Biblical application
Amen Brother Corey! As It Is Written! KJV - 1 Corinthians 14 : 25 “And Thus Are The SECRETS Of HIS Heart Made MANIFEST; And So FALLING Down On HIS Face HE WILL Worship GOD, And REPORT That GOD Is IN YOU Of A TRUTH.”
I believe the reason we don't see real power in the church today is because we don't really love each other with Christ love (John 13:34-35) . Too much offense, too much disagreements, too much selfish ambition, too much pride. We have grieved the Lord and the absence of His presence is obvious. (Psalm 133, Acts 2:42-47).
Hi Corey, putting the gift of prophecy aside, has the Lord ever shown you something in a dream? Say something you know nothing of, a dream of warning or direction? In this case, no other human being is involved; just you and God the Holy Spirit only.
If you saw something in a dream it was very likely and more than not that you ate too much for dinner, watched too much Internet, thought about it too much, and/or devised in your mind that it was from God. The reality is, you do not need to rely on dreams to hear God. All you need is trust, faith, hope. Nothing else
@@elboo3727 that's called interpreting someones life. How can you say Good WASN'T speaking to someone in their dream when the book of Job says that's how Good speaks to men??
Some Followers of Jesus Christ don't follow him that well. They limit themselves to their natural mind. The act of Faith itself is a supernatural and spiritual act. The Holy Spirit can't speak to us on behalf of our Father, surely Not. I refuse to put my God in a box. I have had many dreams that have warned encouraged corrected me and others I know. Nothing I ate could have produced the accuracy.
Corey is going to constantly ask thousands of questions to explain away the gifts of the Spirit. My brother you have done an awesome job defending the Holy Ghost and his gifts.
@ProphetGreg94 You're welcome, I really believe we who are Pentecostal/Charismatics should have a panel speaking and teaching on the power of God. We would stop their mouths, because like you I am a student of the old generals in Pentecostal who were also theologically sound. Just my thoughts brother.
I know Greg personally, he ran off with the mother of my children as we were in the middle of reconciliation, he is no prophet and he should probably consider leaving the gift at the altar and come handle business before he goes any further with this nonsense
@@jmiller967 absolutely. Even though it’s really more 4 fold, pastor-teacher in the Greek seems to be one gift. But I agree, the way it’s laid out in most English translations eludes to 5 gifts in that verse.
5:08--- As a person who was raised in the Charismatic Church and knows all the dirt and stuff..... I agree! Charismatics are the only ppl who claim to be of the Christian faith yet don't seem to have any ability to speak against sin in a way that is biblical and to stand for righteousness in the way that is biblical. They are very much worshiping their own ideology and not scripture. I can give example after example I could probably write a book on it because I'm 54 and I was raised in it and saw it all up close and personal and behind the scenes. Thankfully God saved me but just because they distorted and twisted the scriptures into a pretzel doesn't mean that the scriptures are wrong and I'm not going to judge the word of God based on someone's misrepresentation of it because that would be like someone misrepresenting your character and then others treating you according to that misrepresentation. Wouldn't you say that approaching it that way makes you also a false witness? Just saying!
Every hero from the Bible had a message, wasn't perfect (other than Jesus) lessons, (that individuals still cannot grasp)and had a function THAT NOONE UNDERSTOOD THEN OR NOW. AND THATS OBVIOUS 💯 Pillars of flames wasn't enough, parting the red sea wasn't enough,it's never enough... But FOR SOME IT IS ENOUGH.
We are talking about the God who created a Whole world galaxies out of notning.... we shouldnt limit God. Place a false prophet or person playing with God over there but know that God has power and gifts come without repentance. Know God for yourself
Demons do not and cannot read our thoughts. Only God can know and judge the thoughts and intents of the heart. The Word of God says so in the book of Hebrews. The Holy Spirit (God) alone has that power and authority, no other entity can read your mind. The devil may study your patterns and behavior and anticipate your next move, but he cannot know your thoughts.
So when was the “full revelation” given? Was full revelation given once the letter of the NT written? Because no one ever settled on the canon until much longer after the last letter was written.
Every prophecy is thus said the Lord and has been written in scripture in biblical time. If modern day prophecy is as active as it was in biblical time, then why aren’t these prophecies being written in the Bible?
@ProphetGreg94 We have the scriptures now so we don't have to worry about that, we weren't alive back then. If every new prophecy must align with scripture, why would we need a "new prophecy ". It all pride.
There is no biblical defense for Cessationism. Where does it say that the gifts have ceased? Jesus didn’t leave scripture. What scripture did he write? Paul did not even have a concept of a “New Testament canon.”
God is not dead! He is alive! How does a good father leave the Holy Spirit with his children and say he is a counselor and a friend and the one who brings us truth but he is deaf dumb and mute? That isn’t logical. How can the devil and demons have a form of power but not god? How do demons “speak” to people but Jesus is mute? 🤫 smh it isn’t biblical to think the enemy is something that the lord isn’t!

Any gift that the Holy Spirit allows us to operate in is to the glory of our Father, and there will be no better place than in the hospital starting with the little children I agree😇
He claims he's not against spiritual gifts but he seems to be hyper critical of anyone who operates in any of the gifts of the Spirit. Without even knowing any of the people personally he often claims that they are fake faith healers etc. It's one thing to question if someone is legit or not but to claim someone is false without evidence just shows he's against spiritual gifts in general.

There are many errors on both sides of this discussion, there are valid points on both sides as well. Grace and peace everyone.
@OtisKopp 20 years....I appreciate the love as well. Funny how many of us ignore the scriptures that command us to lift each other up. The majority of us prefer "Christian drama."
As a Pentecostal I would say Corey is too committed to what he doesn’t want the Bible to say that he misses the forest for the trees. To be honest, he never actually answered what was asked. He even ignored scripture that he claims to uphold. For instance he says prophecy that speaks about the person is of no value (paraphrased). This completely ignores this 👇🏾 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. - 1 Corinthians 14:25
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. 1 John 4
If you understand Proverbs and Ecclesiastes, you can “tell the future.” They paint a vivid picture of actions and their consequences-a reflection of wisdom as true as true can be. But wisdom can also be corrupted.
Most are " look at me, look what I've done for "God" " unfortunately none of us can do anything without it being of God’s favor, of His own authority, for His glory. As none but Jesus Christ Himself, who is God in the flesh completed what was of the Father's will, which is that Jesus came for the sinner(s) which He was the perfect atonement for every sinner here on earth who God awakens by His Holy Spirit, to bring the seed of faith through gospel of Jesus crucified and risen from the tomb on our behalf. Everything from the old testament has been prophesied and fulfilled which include certain "ministries" of godly man and our Lord and Savior Jesus have and will be completed as its written in the Bible...
Prophecy means to speak, too! For telling something bound to happen in the future didn’t come into human language until the 15th 16th century. Signs and wonders were for the jews who demanded them in order for them to believe. But 'we' believe Him crucified.
43:18 if the teaching is giving false doctrine then yes, it will be me, Jesus and his word until a qualified pastor takes the floor. He really shouldn’t have even had to ask that question. We can be interconnected, but it shouldn’t be giving Jim Jones vibes.
Doesn't the bible state we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places? (Eph. 6:12) If this is true, then wouldn't spiritual wickedness in high places be driven by evil spirits? If this is true, wouldn't this suggest that the 'spirits' who behave wickedly (the evil spirits in high places) are indeed STILL at work? Could it be that naming such spirits (i.e. the spirit of Jezebel, etc) comes from this idea, and we actually DO see this in scripture?
Jezebel was a woman that died. Us finding sin and declaring it a demon? We don't have the authority. A woma. That is overly promiscuous doesn't have the "spirit of Cardi B." She's a woman acting in the flesh.
@wenhari06 What do I make of it? It seems that the very human Jezebel was such a horrible person that her name is used to describe women that display similar characteristics. This is similar to 'genericization,' when brand names are used to describe similar products. The Bible does not tell us there is a demonic entity that goes by 'Jezebel.' Humans can sin outside of being possessed.
@johntrevett2944 The fact you think it's a minor is a major problem. It's a major. In terms of your ecclesiology it's a major, in terms of your Christian experience it's a major. I say it again cessationism is a destructive heresy.
Corey minor where is your faith brother? Will u get to judgment day and request of the lord proof that he is the judge ? U don’t see because of your unbelief . Mathew 11:25 “At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;” You know the scripture and I believe u started off in the spirit corey but you are now trying to be perfected in the flesh. The carnal mind cannot perceive the things of God
The issue of the Charismatic church is the lack of true teaching. The prosperity gospel. The man centered gospel. Their message is fleshly and not spiritual. Tongues are done. No Apostles exist today. All the fake healings. Much more.
6:24--- While that sounds like a good argument and quite reasonable, it's unbiblical. If "The true Gifts" are validated by the obedience of the believer then you are right and the bible is wrong. Pauls letter to the Corinthians regarding their misuse of "the Gifts", proves that even the Unrepentant sexually immoral disobedient believers have the gifts and are practicing them. I heard you on your 3 hour "live" after the Daystar issue when you were trying to explain to a young man that you don't believe a person is saved if they are being disobedient. The young man was asking if you believe that salvation in obedience are one in the same and you said yes they are because you can't even be saved or you don't have true salvation if you have not repented and you can't repent unless you have acknowledged that you need to repent. Going by the position you take, the letter that Paul wrote to the disobedient Corinthians would suggest that you don't know what you're talking about which according to your own standards makes you a false teacher.
Amazing how those who have not the gifts, nor has ever experienced the gifts of the Spirit, try and explain them away. I being filled with the Spirit of King Yeshua knows for a fact that the Holy Spirit will annoint your vessel often times, in order to operate in and through that vessel, according to his will. The problem is that Corey apparently has the letter only, as opposed to the Spirit. For those who are filled with the Holy Spirit can never explain to the natural man the things of the Spirit, for that man cannot comprehend the things of the Spirit.
People must remember that Jesus himself didn’t do great miracles in his own hometown because of his lack of faith. Corey just seems like he has no faith. If you believe in the gifts, be open to it being from God. It’s ok to test the spirit but he’s very pessimistic towards it. He sounds like the world judging the church because of the false prophets instead of defending the gifts because they are real and from God. All his preferences don’t matter
Also who’s lack of Faith? Jesus? Or the people? Because remember, Jesus went across the sea to heal, and came across a man who was filled with many demons, and when he allowed them into the swine, the man was healed, and the people were scared and told him to leave because they thought he was demon possessed. So they never believed in Jesus because they didn’t even know who he was. So I dnt think it’s lack of faith that stops Jesus from performing miracles in places. Here is the moment. And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed,
@@SortofFriendlySMHear me out. When you say you don’t think it’s lack of faith that stops Jesus from performing miracles then you are literally disregarding the scripture that you are claiming to uphold👇🏾 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. - Matthew 13:58 So yes, unbelief is a reason (among many) that people don’t see miracles. We should commit to what the Bible says not what we don’t want it to mean. The whole anti-charismata position is based on what we don’t think the Bible means and your position on the influence of unbelief shows that instead of committing to the true expression of what the Bible says, we commit to countering ‘excesses and error’.
@@SortofFriendlySMSo all I am saying is, you saying that unbelief doesn’t hinder miracles is an excess equal to or worse than charismatic excesses. It refuses the clear reading of scripture.
@ no, you misunderstood me, I’m saying that Jesus isn’t limited to only being able to perform miracle in places where they only believe. You’re correct, if you don’t have faith, it won’t work on you, because people have touched Jesus and because they believe in him they get healed. Like the woman who touched his garment, and got healed, it was because she had faith. I understand your point, but he’s not limited to only those places is all I was saying.

@@shaquillebazzey8111 v.30 “…they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of they sky with power and great glory” (notice how it is IMMEDIATELY AFTER the tribulation of THOSE days the Son of Man will come). And indeed the son of man did come, in the same way that the LORD had come in judgment against his adversaries in the Old Testament (Isaiah 19:1f; Jeremiah 4:13; Ezekiel 30:3). And all these passages refers to an invading army being sent by the Lord to judge a people and completely destroy them. And that’s precisely what you have in the first century when the Romans defeated the Jews during the “days of vengeance” to “Fulfill all that has been written” (Luke 21:20-24), all for the shedding of the blood of the prophets (Matthew 23:32-38). In addition, verse 34 makes it clear “ALL THOSE THINGS” would take place before the “passing of that generation”, which is only 40 years (Psalm 95:10). That’s precisely how long it was from the time of Jesus’ ministry and preaching of repentance, to the fall of Jerusalem (30ad-70ad). And lastly, one simply cannot get around all the other time texts in the Bible where Jesus made it clear that he was going to return in their lifetime (Matthew 10:23;16:27-28; 24:30, 34; Mark 9:1; 14:62; Luke 21:27, 31-32; Revelation 1:1; 3:3; 22:7, 10, 12, 20). Therefore, Jesus had already had come in 70ad.

The "prophet" doesn't even understand basic Christology and committed the Nestorian heresy. Jesus was, is and will eternally be fully God and fully man. It is an abomination to separate His natures, and it is an abomination to suggest that He was in some way "gifted" in His humanity.
I am not Nestorian. False accusation. Oh! I don’t understand basic Christology? Interesting. I’m sure you’d be surprised how much I actually know on these matters, if you aren’t too narrow minded and prideful to admit it. Did you not hear in the video that I admitted that he is indeed God? I affirm his Deity! What you are failing to understand is that Jesus was anointed in the river Jordan. See Hebrews, “since you have loved righteousness, God, even thy God hath anointed thee…” While Jesus God? Yes. Why didn’t Jesus, as God, perform a single miracle before his baptism? Huh? Tell me. I’ll wait. Why did only began performing miracles after he was anointing and the Spirit came upon him as a dove? 🕊️ After that he began operating in the “power of the Spirit (Luke 4:14; Acts 10:38). But even that point aside, Corey saying that Jesus was God doesn’t undercut the point that I made about when Jesus operated in the word of knowledge, when he told Nathaniel that he seen him. That’s just informal fallacy of moving the goalpost. Let’s raise an actual cogent and compelling argument.

@ Respectfully, it’s not us saying who required signs, it’s scriptures 1 Cor 1:22-25 and it goes back all the way back to Moses? And beyond. That’s how God dealt with Israel throughout the scriptures: and it doesn’t change in Paul’s missionary journeys because Jews are in every town still required to carry out their hope of a earthly prophetic kingdom, which would come with miracles , signs and wonders? Gentiles were without hope? according to Eph 2:12-20 : until Paul Goes to them and reveals to them a new Hope which doesn’t require a sign Col 1:27-29 ! Yes the congregations are mixed and being partakers of the spiritual gifts, but they are in part (until) that which is perfect is come 1 Cor 13:8-13? Perfect Knowledge replaces Partial Gifts ( leaving us today with one thing that is Profitable) 2 Tim 3:16 ( and able to Perfect ) verse 17.
@ right I’m not saying I don’t believe in the miraculous, I’m specifically saying, people trying to glorify themselves, miracles, gifts, covenants, speaking n tongues etc over the Gospel found in scripture for our salvation today, have erred grossly. The preaching of the cross is the power of God now 1 Cor 1:18
He said people came to Christ because he gave them a prophecy is not salvation for today ? We are saved by Grace through Faith , not through prophecy, speaking in an unknown language or laying hands on them ?? You’re confused on how Faith comes by hearing the word of God rightly divided ?
@ didn’t Paul say that when the gift of prophecy is exercised in the church that outsider that steps in is convinced that the God of truth is among you?
Supernatural things happened in the Bible but Supernatural things happening today is unheard of and not Biblical... not so. Thats confusing. You can't measure the Supernatural. GOD Jesus Holy Spirit are all beyond the natural. I can't believe he would say the supernatural spiritual things happening today are not Biblical.
What supernatural things? People proclaiming "look, tongues are here, healing is here?" People can still lie. Satan is still the prince of this world. Believers are not to trust any and everyone proclaiming a sign.
The seven sons did not come in rhe name of The Lord. They said in the name of whom paul preaches. So they didnt even know the Lord. They just seen what paul was doing and tried to imitate it. Thats why they got attacked. They didnt say in Jesus Name. They said in the name of whom paul preaches. If they knew Jesus and knew him as Lord then they wouldve succeeded in casting out the devil. Thats the difference
What are the purpose of the gifts?! The gifts are for the edification, building up of the body of Christ. There have been times where i spoke things over others that were true. Does make me a prophet?! No!!! If it doesn't point to Christ it's not of him. We have to be so discerning and careful. Matthew 7:22-23 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.
The problem is after all the desired intellectual mumbo jumbo, sir, you do not believe the Bible. You say we do not see certain things in the Bible that we do, your problem you do not have eyes to see, you ignore the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Every denomination has false claims, but you call lies that are biblical which you are blind to. Jesus Himself said “these works” and “greater” works you ( all His disciples) will work! Period!
Did you watch the video at all? Corey repeated OVER AND OVER again that he doesn't think the gifts are ceased. He just has to see evidence that these supposed gifts on display are actually from God. I don't know if it's a running theme, but some listeners to Corey's channel really have a VERY hard time just listening. So much emotion yet such little critical thinking and plain listening to what he's saying. Also, your misinterpreting that verse. The word for "greater" there in the OG language is got "in higher volume" or "more of". Not better works than Jesus. That is literally impossible since he's God in flesh.
Intellectual mumbo jumbo? Really! "My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge. Beacuse they wilfully reject knowledge." Yet they believe and defend every false teacher today.
Here is the thing. Unfortunately some people like Wayne need to believe false prophecy or false miracles in order to have faith. The word of God isn’t enough for some. They need to see “magic” constantly in order to believe God is real.
@@StoryDrivenFilmmaking I thought Christians comment on here? I would your “name” but you hide it in a phrase, filmmaker. It is hard to believe anyone Christian, unless just a baby in Christ, would call the miracles performed by Jesus, the twelve, Paul, Philip, Steven, and all that would follow Jesus as He declared would do the same works as Him and even greater, are all FALSE? It sounds to me you are an unbeliever or a sinner claiming to know Jesus intellectually but never a changed heart. It is one thing to confess Jesus with your mouth and another from your heart. Magic comes from Satan I have the Holy Spirit in my heart and my life, sounds like you’re the expert on magic. You cannot even believe in Jesus without believing a miracle, or have you not ever read your Bible for yourself without some seminary spoon feeding you in the high chair? The birth of Jesus, explain to me how Mary got “pregnant” with Jesus and she had no intimacy with a man? Have you heard of the “supernatural” called the power of God? The Holy Spirit is not a ‘natural” Person, He is supernatural. Now I understand you are powerless and frustrated about it, but that is no reason to bad mouth a Christian who has been saved and obeyed Jesus and received the baptism in the Holy Spirit WITH POWER! Yes, read your Holy Bible not your manmade scripts of human philosophy and stop practicing your magic you seem so fond of. Please I promotes to leave your magic alone but you or no one else will stop me from walking in the love of God and the power of God. His gospel and His Spirit agree you cannot separate them without disobeying God. I do not align myself with any person repeatedly committing false anything spiritual, whether the Holy Spirit gifts He gives, miracles, healings OR SALVATION. The biggest problem is fake salvations, not knowing Jesus with a new born-again spirit. You cannot believe Jesus without believing in miracles, how foolish. Normally i would even waste time reading such mean false accusations knowing that Satan inspires them, but having experience the miracle working power of Jesus’ salvation I have hope I can help you in your “situation”.
I truly believe that you are one of the chosen ones😇 and it is possible for one of the chosen ones to operate in any gift of the Spirit, if you desire them.
4:30--- Paul, Peter, John, etc ..... They are the Jews who were looking for the coming Messiah. They were not gentile believers therefore they were addressed accordingly. Remember, "The Jews" wre the ones to whom The Word of God came first and still to this day, Gentiles cannot have true Salvation without acknowledging The Jews bc Salvation is of The Jews! Jesus said so!
The gentleman said that his wife can attest that they went somewhere and the Lord spoke and give him visions of who the person was all about him/him and things of such. Heck, we can all Google that information on each other😂
I am that “gentleman.” I have many witnesses that I can call to stand that can vouch that these stories are true. And no, the details I am speaking of were very personal information God gave me to completely random strangers whom I didn’t know. Involving even the exact city and state they are moving to, their name, etc. one case God showed me that their boyfriend cheated on them with their best friend that week, and as a result was depressed.
4:15--- Re Jezebel: JESUS HIMSELF who happens to be the word of God and the author of the entire Bible but definitely the author of the book of Revelation and the letters to the 7 churches. In one of those letters Jesus said, " You suffer Jezebel......" Meaning Jesus was angry at that Church for allowing the Spirit of Jezebel to be active among his believing ppl! So much for your unbiblical position regarding Jezebel and how it's not a New Covenant issue! NEXT....✓
PROVE IT! Sir practice what you preach. You say PROVE IT…then prove you are a believer, Jesus said you will cast out demons, heal the sick, speak in tongues, etc. You do not have to do all of them per-say but how about just one of them sir? Prove you are a BELIEVER!!!! Now take the full counsel of God’s word, not just what you “feel” comfortable with to PROVE yourself!
He told the deciples that read the Bible in context and stop thinking highly of yourself none of these so call demon slayers went to the hood or the hospital or no where else for that fact to prove their ability except the church or some conference where the people have to spend money
Greg and I were good brothers until he decided to secretly start seeing the mother of my children after I introduced her to the church. He and I were very close yet he decided to never tell me that he was seeing her. My man has yet to have a conversation with me about his betrayal. Does his theology have something to do with it, I believe so.
@turthgod1917 interesting. I love you how you pitch things in such a false manner. I did nothing in secret. Everyone in my church, including my pastor knew I was interested in dating who’s now my wife. In fact, I had asked my pastor for permission first, and to pray about it to see if it was a good decision. And he announced it before the church when we did start dating. I have countless witnesses I can call to stand to this day to attest. I have been happily married for almost an entire decade. “The one who states his case first seems right, until the other comes and examines him.” Proverbs 18:17 ESV My theology? Tell me, what is my theology.
Corey you did an amazing job! I agree with you 💯. If all of these phrophets and stuff are for real, why dont they go to the dangerous places? People in the Bible faced serious danger and some died for the faith, these so called modern prophets etc go where it's easy to sell and there is no danger. Good conversation brother!
Want to volunteer by showing us an example by demonstrating the gift of evangelism to these dangerous places first? Haha. 🤣 So the gift of prophecy is location dependent? Plus, that’s just moving the goalpost.
Not a very good argument if I may say. I also haven’t seen ‘discernment ministries’ or these so called teaching ministries in the dangerous and poor places where some of us actually live but we have seen people who believe in the power of God come to preach the gospel. It’s not a very useful argument trust me
If the gift of speaking in tongues were active in the church today, it would be performed in agreement with Scripture. It would be a real and intelligible language (1 Corinthians 14:10). It would be for the purpose of communicating God’s Word with a person of another language (Acts 2:6-12). It would be exercised in the church in agreement with the command God gave through Paul, “If anyone speaks in a tongue, two-or at the most three-should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God” (1 Corinthians 14:27-28). It would also be in accordance with 1 Corinthians 14:33, “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
@@johntrevett2944so the fact that you think people aren’t performing a gift correctly is evidence of it’s cessation and negation? So if people wrongly and improperly preach, is that evidence of its negation and cessation?
@@johntrevett2944 The gift of tongues is still active today. And it’s not just charismatics. I’ve seen the gift of tongues and interpretation operated in a Methodist church. You just have to be at the right church lol. And you don’t communicate to people in tongues. Tongues is a prayer language. Paul explains this explicitly in 1 Corinthians 14:2 and it aligns with Acts 2:4. Paul literally says when you speak in tongues, you do NOT speak to men so I don’t know why people keep saying they used tongues to communicate the Gospel in Acts. That’s not what happen. The believers were magnifying God in these different languages and PETER preached or communicate the Gospel.
This is how Christian debate and discussion should be held. Love your channel Bro
Saw this live and I have a similar background and experience, thank you for being so articulate and Biblical.
Keep cutting it straight brother corey!
Thank you! I'm glad you made this comment. I agree. Demons do not know our thoughts.
@@jonathon_durno I was thinking the same thing. I don't think demons know our thoughts, there isn't Bible evidence of it anyway.
Amen to your comment.
This is great content Brothers. We need more of this, respect!
Thanks again for the video Cory!!
corey. my man! You will never compromise because you have discernment!
What?
Thanks Corey for keeping it simple and biblical
Great Great Point! Cory YOUR point is irrefutable. These so called profits are just trying to put themselves as some sort of God themselves. They want the Glory for themselves. Those gifts would be used where they will point unbelievers to JESUS.

Nah, that's no legalism, you err there! It is rather spiritual understanding, no mysticism!!

Actually the ones who are saying you have to speak in tongues to be saved are Oneness Pentecostals, which is an of Trinitarian Pentecostalism
Very good conversation!
Amen Brother Corey! As It Is Written! KJV - 1 Corinthians 14 : 25 “And Thus Are The SECRETS

I heard that demons cannot read our minds but only go by you actions to read you.
great discussion!!!!!!
I would simply say make sure the measuring stick used to discern if the dream/vision is from God is The Word of God!
Good job Cory😁

Acts 13:1…NT. Christ gave the 5 fold gifts to the church Eph 4:11.
Exactly
Hey Corey. He's talking about divination. Divination is witchcraft and not of God.
No, I am not. I am not a diviner. I’ve helped to lead people out of witchcraft, not bring people to it.
I’ve never practiced divination a day in my life. That’s patently false.
We are talking about the God who created a Whole world galaxies out of notning.... we shouldnt limit God. Place a false prophet or person playing with God over there but know that God has power and gifts come without repentance. Know God for yourself
That's why we have the armor of God
4:03--- Jesus speaking to Peter, addressed "Satan" as if Satan were the power or persuasion in Peter!
The prophets spoke for God at a time when we didn't have the full revelation of God's plan which we have now in the scripture.
@@EKPittman Great point
@ProphetGreg94 We have the scriptures now so we don't have to worry about that, we weren't alive back then. If every new prophecy must align with scripture, why would we need a "new prophecy ". It all pride.
as a cessationist. im never opposed to truth. Jesus is God. He left scripture to end time.

Where is His Spirit's leading, AND HIS WORD BEARS WITNESS TO HIS SPIRIT? What does it mean to walk by faith? What is spiritual MATURITY wherein spiritual things are compared to spiritual things? First of all the spiritual gifts are there but you have to desire them in order to operate in them!
So if I have the desire to have the gift of healing I'll be able to go to a hospital and heal everyone I lay hands on just like the disciples did?
@johntrevett2944 Luke 10:1-20 yes I believe if we fully developed the Fruit of the Spirit, and desire the gifts of the Spirit he will work through us any of the gifts
@rontwyman9286 Why wouldn't you start healing everyone in hospitals, specifically children's hospitals? I'm assuming that is your desire and it would glorify God?
Any gift that the Holy Spirit allows us to operate in is to the glory of our Father, and there will be no better place than in the hospital starting with the little children I agree😇
I don't think you're against spiritual gifts, but you seem to minimize them. Even with regards to demons, you definitely minimize their influence.

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.

Hi! If tounges is just another language what do you do with 1 Corinthians 14:1-2?

@@brianhoward5509What do you make of the book of Revelation making reference to Jezebel or the spirit of Jezebel?
@wenhari06 What do I make of it? It seems that the very human Jezebel was such a horrible person that her name is used to describe women that display similar characteristics.
This is similar to 'genericization,' when brand names are used to describe similar products.
The Bible does not tell us there is a demonic entity that goes by 'Jezebel.' Humans can sin outside of being possessed.

Are you saying that God is limited to only being able to perform miracles in places where they believe?
And he answered, saying, My name is Legion:
for we are many.

The whole anti-charismata position is based on what we don’t think the Bible means and your position on the influence of unbelief shows that instead of committing to the true expression of what the Bible says, we commit to countering ‘excesses and error’.
