Hi Holly for my leaf propagation which the bird 🦅 love to peck I just put a BBQ stick. With my big ones I have this butterfly attached to the wire I place it in few pots somehow it helps the bird staying away from my succulent.

How lucky that your hubby has agreed to help build shelves. I need a hubby, unfortunately I've got to try and do things myself. So I try and make the no build things, ie hang planks of wood with rope and S hooks on fence. I hope your husband makes them quickly for you.

Hi Maric Lee, thank you so much for visiting 😊🥰, yes I leave my succulents outside all year round. Some of them are in the ground without covering. but I always keep an eye of the weather specially the frost and hail. When that happens I covered them with shade cloth. I have few videos showing some ways how I protect my succulent. Pls feel free to browse. And my succulent in the shelving they are protected by that overhead cover I installed. Most of my plants are already acclimated for outdoor weather all year round. But there are some succulent that can’t tolerate frost.
What is the name of the shade your standing underneath. During summer time in Ca it’s get super hot. I want to purchase some and make a shade similar to yours. Thank You.
Hi Elnie, I’m sorry but I didn’t have a full video on how we do our shelving. My husband and I are not really expert in dealing with wood work. My concentration is on building it and that’s the reason why I didn’t able to get a video. Just a glimpse of videos.

I love your unusual plant with the pink flowers, i am attracted to the caudex type plants. I have nervously been nurturing a couple of adeniums aka desert roses, going into their 3rd year now and haven't flowered as yet, but they should hopefully next year so far they are healthy and happy.

@@Emshomesucculentgarden I must admit, Bunnings is our go to garden supply shop also. Yes i have watched most of Maria's Garden vids. She is the reason i took the plunge with them. I just had to get my head around the difference in seasons and climate to ours. I love the Bonsai look also, and i have recently lifted them to expose more of the chubby caudex, i love how the roots twist to give it character, mine at the moment is covered with glossy green leaves they look really nice.I keep mine under the edge of a carport on a table where they get bright light and some morning and afternoon light at times. They never get rained on, and very little water as they are a desert plant originally. So far it's worked for me. The winters in Mt Gambier might be too cold for them maybe. They can be a finicky one.
