As someone who joined during the tail end of Black Ice, and hopped off Siege years ago. Man some of these things being described as "Old Siege" is making me feel like its time for me to bust out a walker and check myself into a retirement home.
Man, I haven't played R6 for years at this point, but I played since release and can warmly recall hopping on with my mates after school and just messing around in casual. This video unlocked some core memories for me: 1. Kapkan's old insta-kill traps were actually so busted if you weren't paying attention to them. There was one time on casual where my mates and I were all recruit-rushing on House using the same door and we all got smoked by a single Kapkan trap lmao. 2. When White Noise dropped, I remember people mainly using Vigil for his BOSG shotgun. Bloody thing was a sniper and there was nothing more humiliating than using a full-auto rifle and getting one-tapped by a shotgun Vigil from long range. 3. Jaeger's ACOG used to be the terror of Siege. I remember after spawning in as attackers EVERYONE would always be looking at the windows. If you didn't you were GUARANTEED to get absolutely cooked by a sweaty Jaeger player trying to spawn-peek. 4. If you were a defender and the attackers had Lion and Dokkaebi it was literally GG. The old Lion wallhacks with the old Dokkaebi phone call was a game-breaking combination.
Yo this bring back memories. Shooting team mates to give them more health or the down indicator on enemies. Spamming pings was funny af, team mates were mad for pinging and getting cams shot. Some players have same age as my account. Everyone was running iron sights due to EMP grenades.
Man, the fact I remember a ton of these... I freaking loved Siege back in Year 1 and 2. The game was soooo fun playing with friends and my sibling. Tbh, it's really after Year 1 that the game started to decline.
I am an old Siege Player, I've been playing for 3000hours from 2016 to 2021 1.2kd. I had so much fun, but I don't play it anymore, it's too different it's another game and I am not even curious to play it. They should have done a Rainbow Six 1 and a Rainbow Six 2 or Rainbow Seven. Like Cs Go, older players don't play the new Cs Go versions. Ubisoft did a mess as usual.
Old Favela WAS super fun! Playing Maverick was the absolute funnest thing because almost all of the outside walls of that building are destructible. My favorite angle was the wall looking from weed farm all the way down to roof access stairs XDDD
I'm really not a huge fan of all the map reworks. For every rework they just made the map bigger and more square, and called it an improvement. Old favela was awful, but that's why it was fun. It was actually difficult to enter the building for some sites, and you had to get creative. I really hope R6 throwback mods go more mainstream. Would be amazing to play white noise against randos again.
@@georgeleslie7307 What they did to house is unforgivable. Everyone always complained about how hard it was to defend kid's bedroom on house, but at the same time they would ignore construction entirely and reinforce the walls on kids bedroom. Old house required completely different strategies to defend different objectives, and that's why it was so fun, and why the game had so much longevity. Nowadays, every objective is big enough, has a certain ratio of sightlines, soft walls, and indestructable walls, you can defend every objective in the game the exact same way.
When bandit had 3 barbed wires and ACOG back in the day, people were very likely to even pick the 3x barbed wire over the nitro cell from back in the day. Barbed wire also used to be 3 hit instead of 2 hit back then, which is why people more often brought sledge because he could 1 hit barbed wire. Dead bodies didnt only stay right where they were - they landed in different places from everyones point of you creating literal one-way angles. Smokes toxin and smoke grenades in general also looked different for every client. For some it was clear, for others it wasnt creating a lot of drama. Valkyrie used to have a glitch, where she could legally wall hack through barricades and even lag switch teleport through closed barricase by removing the barricade only on her clientside by removing 1 piece of wood with just 2 gun shots and throwing a camera at the debris. For her and teammates nearby the barricade would disappear for others not nearby it remained intact. This also worked on windows making incredibly unfair spawn peeks - even more unfair than bullet holes since you could clearly see AND WALK through the barricade, while it was intact viewed from the enemy. When walking through it the enemy wont see you clip through it. 2 Seconds later you would just teleport to your new actual location from their view. Incredibly broken - just as I said.

@@nasfoda_gamerbrbigproducti5375 I believe its based off things like if the defusers down or not, If 2 people kill each other and defusers not down the defenders win but if it is down attackers win (I could be wrong about that so you might want to fact check me lol)
Played for the first time in a while and had a game like that..both teams were like "WHAT...AGAIN!?!?!?"
I am genuinely feeling grief
it has been 9 goddamn years, people. Time really flies.
I'm already getting goosebumps.
I can't believe Glaz still is able to shoot through the windows on Plane
30 seconds in and that Operation White Noise stinger gives me chills. I had Siege on launch, but White Noise was the first time I actually sat down to play it. The game has moved away from it's gritty feel and more into flashy e-sports territory as the years go by, which is good for it, but for me I repurchased and went back to play the old R6: Vegas games to try to grasp that old school feel again.
2017 was peak siege
the old intro plus the menu music was golden
watched all the tiktoks but wanted to watch this all in one. thanks for this! 3 things you could possibly add, on barlet you used to be able to glitch into the library 1st floor staircase. 2. you could glitch into the ceiling off 1st story bank for B bomb. 3 in the tts when finka was introduced she bumped people up a speed including blitz, he was a menace on tts but it never made it to the live build luckily
bro playing t hunt at 3 am was actually scary
i swear the white noise so good and so nostalgic rn
That brought me a lot of nostalgia of my early days of playing siege on my brother Pc, man time flies so fast .... Almost forgot what OG Kafe was looking like
why the hell did they get rid of cooking grenades
That’s what grenades do, they can be COOKED
same as the answer of all questions you'd have like night maps removed, zofia hidden abilities etc.
CRYING SOFT ASS "PRO" PLAYERS
Basically no counter. Ubislop doesn’t like mechanics that have no counter. Basically if a map had wooden floors, someone on a drone ping a defender, someone with frags goes the floor below and cook the nade, bam, didn’t see it coming
Watching this I'm remembering so many happy memories messing with friends, what they did to my siege
remember having hit markers for shooting operators, Ash charges bouncing off of castle barricades, Buck’s shotgun being a killing machine instead of a breaching tool, or being able to get a black eye camera on the tail wing of plane? bonkers ass game
11:18 Teo was the goat of old siege dude.
Old siege was the best thing to happen to gaming old siege hits me hard everytime I see it
I do miss the OG days of siege.
I played from the beta. Having few operators was good, now it's too diluted. Haven't played since 2018. Don't think I'll ever play again unless it we get an classic version.
Ahhh the nostalgia... 🤧
From a player who started playing at white noise
Same here. I started late in the season before but I consider white noise as my first true season. Loved it so much
1:02 Nope no recruit rush anymore 😢
I know it’s very sad :(
Thing i missed the most was the Toxic Cav who would down her entire team 😂😂😂
Don't forget the twitch on the opposing team
@GumCow lol yeah that was every Twitch mains wet dream 🤣 bro just comes in and cleans house 🏠
Rff killed team autonomy.
@ThatTexansFan7 Lmfao no way i think I have a video uploaded to my channel which is exactly this
Edit: I forgot I have two videos of me doing this on my channel FFS I was a little shit
here a veteran playing since alphaand never stopped, thanks so much for this, bring me tears all the memories, im totally agree with you the screen time at the beginning with music ambiented on the season was top and something i wish they bring back, great video man
ITS OK TO GIVE PPL WHATT TTHE WANTT WITHOUT GOING OVERBOARD
As someone who joined during the tail end of Black Ice, and hopped off Siege years ago. Man some of these things being described as "Old Siege" is making me feel like its time for me to bust out a walker and check myself into a retirement home.
You didnt mention Serenity17, guy was the Godfather of Siege mechanics.
he's one of the goats of old siege
Man, I haven't played R6 for years at this point, but I played since release and can warmly recall hopping on with my mates after school and just messing around in casual. This video unlocked some core memories for me:
Tbh, it's really after Year 1 that the game started to decline.
old siege was nostalgic and the old lighting were just better
@@addmix Especially House! OG House architecturally made more sense (big ass bedrooms?) and was perfect for Hostage gamemode. 😢
15:56 It sounds so depressing now :(
I know from having done it, glaz can still shoot through plane windows
I know I forgot to put in some text saying he still can
When bandit had 3 barbed wires and ACOG back in the day, people were very likely to even pick the 3x barbed wire over the nitro cell from back in the day.
Very nice video. Man those opening title screens really were awesome.
Man thanks for posting this vid it brought me manyyy memories
Thanks for watching!
I gotta return some tapes
Hiding in dead bodies was key man. I remember planting defuser, then hiding just inside some bodies on top of it to melee the player trying to defuse
the nostalgia :)))))) great video.
Thank you 🤝
the old recoil in R6 Siege is what made it an R6 game. It was realistic and most of the previous R6 games had crazy recoil
