Linux Terminal on iOS - iSH Shell!

- In this video I show how to easily get Linux on your iOS device. This is all through an app called iSH! You can install this app from the App Store and it is basically a full Linux terminal that's running natively on your device! It's a cool project so I decided to take a look at it! This really expands the possibilities with your iOS device!

You can exit nano by clicking the ^ at the top of the keyboard layout and press x , great app!

@@Lukes-Tech is it to much to ask if you know a cheat sheet for Alpine commands some seem different then Pi OS ?
@@lst3044 I can promise you the only thing that's different is apk, which doesn't take much to get used too coming from apt. Other than that and some other commands that help you build on alpine (which you'll probably ever use unless you develop for iSH), that's all there is!

Used to be a purely Android guy but recent Apple convert. Android is getting more locked down so I had less reason not to switch. I had NO idea you had apps like this on iOS!! It really works! Python and everything! Unbelievable! I know it’s CPU emulated but that doesn’t seem to cause speed issues so far. Nice 👍

Respect ur opinion and I do use a iPhone as a cell phone but for hacking purposes an android is always best specifically sense your able to access Kali 100X easier

the control key in the on-screen keyboard is the second key from left to right at the top row, the "^", so the order of those keys is
tab, ctrl, esc, arrow keys (this one requires gesture)
First thing I did was “apk add vim” just clicked with it easier than I did with nano also they conveniently add a ESC key to the Apple keyboard
I wonder if installing and running X will brick the IPad.

You can create a file straight from the shell using echo and >. Example:
echo “I have no idea why I am making my life harder doing things like this” > iShouldJustUseVim.txt

I think yes. But you can run Ubuntu for i386 cpu in chroot using ISH then you 100% can run java

I don't think so. If so, you'd have to install it, then RDP into it. I'm not exactly sure if that would even work though.

Since iPhones have custom hardware Linux mint does not support it (so no you cant get an actual os on iphone)

It's useful for being able to SSH into other devices, code etc. It expands your possibilities with your iOS Device.

I know that it is possible to run Ubuntu for i386 CPUs using chroot.

But iSH is much better as iPhone is much better then Android!!!
