I've been fishing here with my family for years and no matter how many years I go it never gets old.
Grew up fishing this lake and still fish here a few times per year. Monster trout!! Can’t believe the amazing weather they had for this episode - it’s always windy and threatening to rain/snow outside of the July/August heat doldrums.

Remember as a kid fishing with my Grandpa. We where on the boat and saw a dark cloud coming towards us. And that cloud end up being a swarm of bugs flying at us it was insane

What is going to be the best bet for flies in June? And which area of shoreline would you suggest?
We will be using 8ft pontoon boats so probably fairly close to shore.

I fish Henry's Lake 2-3 times a year and I want to know how you spent so many days fishing and NO WIND. There's always wind after 11:00.
I`m in Scotland and Algal blooms are not good news on my home water, Loch Leven.
Loch Leven is one of the most studied Lochs on the planet with an average depth of 12 feet although has deeps of 70+ feet.
The problems here is eutrophication of the loch caused by nitrogen and phosphate's seeping in through the soil from fertiliser used in fields surrounding it.
The Algae here is blue/green cyanobacteria, although not a biologist I fail to see how any Algae can benefit fisheries as it de-oxygenates the water and prevents light from reaching the deeper areas retarding plant growth.
Here in Scotland at least.

I found lake fishing for trout not very interesting except when trout are eating bugs on the surface. I did it on Hegben and... meh. So much of the lure (?) and lore of fly fishing for trout comes from the interaction of fisher, trout and bugs with the flowing water of the stream.
