Spring Greetings from ENGLAND.🥂🇬🇧 We like your outlook on life - we wholly agree👍 We travel to K.L in 2 weeks with a group. We fear the travel company have not done sufficient research so are spending our time doing our on Y.T! So your appraisal of Penang Hill, very very informative. Thank you. We have literally just emailed the tour operators to confirm we have express tickets, as there is no way we will waste 2hrs+ when there is just so much to see on our first visit to Malaysia. I have my doubts about Penang Hill following other Y.T vids but I think you summed it well - an unusual train ride! We dropped the idea of the Habitat roof canopy when we saw just how far it was to walk up there. Too time consuming- even without the heat & as you found, possible rain. Both the Temple and Mosque look interesting so I think we will head there. Buddha only knows what the other 15 in our group will do if they have not researched like us! We fear they may be elderly/less mobile too! We’ll now Subscribe & watch your Penang food reviews as we will be following on there to George Town and staying on Ferringhi Beach. We’ve already booked Mano Exquisine & hope to take tea at the O&E Hotel. 😉 Thank once again. Kevin & Suzanne.🫶🥂 P.s We hit Singapore again in November. Marina Bay Sands & The Fullerton last time - but Raffles is open again now.😉
I love this place! Used to travel up and down just for fun. It was never crowded back then (at least 15 years ago and still the old train). Nice to eat dinner in the cool open field overlooking the city at the Bellevue Hotel back in those days. It was actually chilly then. Now with the climate changing, I don't think its chilly up there anymore. Will revisit again one day.
QUESTION : You said face upwards going up in the funicular train? But you filmed looking down - which looked great. Coming back down, I’d think it is also better to face down the hill. Is that correct? So ideally, get the bottom carriage with seat by window- hopefully, express ticket gives that chance. Thank you.
An express ticket might save you a lot of time. We wanted to revisit as we haven’t been there in more than 20 years. A little too touristy for now, but do check as there might be off peak timings we don’t know about.

Yes, it’s not too chilly up there but still a great train ride up there, great for a half day activity!
So to avoid long Q is to spent double money to buy the express ticket, right?

hey! thank you for the video, it's very insighful. Id like to know is the ticket is loop ticket? or is it one way? thank you! xx
We bought a return ticket :)
So nice and clean….
If you buy your ticket in advance on the website do you still need to wait in line?
I’m not entirely sure as we got our tickets at the counter :)
wow i love this place so nice omg i never go before i wish my mum bring me go there might be happy
👍😀😀
Is it a school holiday week ?
No it wasn’t school holidays
Did you go there weekends?
We were there on a weekday.
Not worth to visit then if waiting time is more than an hour to board the train for standard tickets

Why does your sound keep going on, off, on, off, on, repeatedly???
To mute off excess loud noises in between.
Is this on a weekend? or weekday?
It was a public holiday
