Ordered one and am really looking forward to it! I had an Apogee Rosetta 48k for ages and recordings done with it always were top notch and 3d. So I'm looking forward to a multichannel device from Apogee offering even updated trechnology.
not to be a downer, but why cant apogee just make interfaces thunderbolt and usb 3? Its really a drag, everytime I like an interface from a company its either just thunderbolt, just usb 2 or just usb 3, other than the rme fireface ufx! i wish more interfaces could just do both lol. anyone else agree?
MOTU has been doing that for years that offered dual connectivity as RME isn't the only one. I own a MOTU 828ES AVB interface with USB/Thunderbolt/AVB computer connectivity. It shares the same ESS Sabre DAC converters found in Apogees products.
All Pro Audio interfaces designed for large i/o have input and output calibration which is required if you plan on using outboard gear. You won't find that those features on Prosumer interfaces.

So u still got to buy module?
does anyone know if the thunderbolt version will work with a pc that has thunderbolt or only mac?
Also is it backwards compatible with Mavericks
Hi Benjamin - Thunderbolt mode requires MacOS 10.0 (Yosemite) and above.
I don't see any XLRInput, where can I plug my microphones in?
Thanks
Hi - depending on the module installed you can either plug an XLR straight in or via 25 pin D-SUB connectors.
Does the 16x16 module have 16 mic pre-amps?
No the 16x16 module refers to Inputs/Outputs. If you want to add Mic Pre's to the configuration you need to have the 8x8+8MP module
only for mac???
what desk is it?
Is there calibration for the analog inputs ?

Great overview!! :)
Is it for xlr microphones?
If you have the correct module installed, yes
Can you bypass the preamp? Does it have a preamp?
It's a Pro Audio studio converter not a Prosumer audio interface. The pre amp Modular card is optional.
I'm sure this has been purchased by dozens. DOZENS!
I have to buy something else to use this thing... I cant even plug a mic into this thing?
you need to pay attention
@@SandXila well, I didnt see a mic plug, did you?
Depends which module card you have installed. The 2x6 for example gives you two analog inputs that you could use for a mic
amazing sounding!!!
