This is nearing perfection….😊!
The way he sings and plays the piano…
If one could go back in time to see this show. This is incredible!
I especially love how concerts in the 70"s were almost 3 hours long!!!! I was born in 79 I am so blessed to know and love shit like this!!!!
Our modern day Mozart. ❤ Thank You Elton & Bernie for being the staple in my life. I couldn’t have picked a finer musician & lyricist to idolize my whole life !!! 💯❤️💯
Elton the Incredible. (And Bernie and the Band, too!)
There never was and never will be again a talent like this man.
You’re correct. Do you enjoy the solo piano shows of the 90’s as well?
What setlist !!! Sir Elton John is The One long before 1992 ! A Star is born !! He's been the soundtrack of my entire life since this time !
Yes, so great!
@@danielhkhk7283 i agree!
The guys above may agree, but then they haven’t read this comment on a thousand other videos
LMAO
@@bruceski2133 Lmao right
Thank you for posting this video!!! I have NEVER heard Elton live this early. Excellent
GodDAMN Elton could rock in his prime, which this is! Many many thanks!!
Love the musicianship of Elton, Dee, Nigel, and Davey in the extended versions of "Madman Across the Water" and "Levon" and "Take Me To The Pilot" plus hearing the not-yet-released "Have Mercy On The Criminal" in its earliest days.
The quality and the mix is mind blowing, 51 years old - you'd be lucky to capture something that clean today. What a set list. What a performance, and snapshot in time. Nigel on fire. Thank you so much for posting this. It's nothing short of amazing.
Madman across the water is incredible, Whole lotta shakin' is epic, and I wish I were there....
My God.... Mellow I haven't heard in over 10 years.....2008 is when I just discovered off a record I bought at the Goodwill for like a dollar if I remember right
Yes!❤
This is wonderful. Thanks for the posting. Been an Elton fan since 11/17/70 live New York recording.
Madman across the water…so beautiful song! Elton you’re incredible! 😘
This is an awesome performance!
Superb! Sound great! Songs Whoah! Outstanding show! Why wouldn’t he release this? Blows my mind! Thank you!
Oh this would have sounded interesting and absolutely incredible on VYNIL!!!!!
Remember the yellow UNI record label??????
This should be an A+! This is amazing sound quality for 1972.
I love any show with tiny dancer... Live versions of that song hit different
Amazing set list anyway the EJ I loved
Great sound
What an incredible find! Thank you so much for sharing.
Honky Cat is such a funky song. Just amazing how Eltons setlist morphs over the years, only a very small set of songs seem to be standards
Elton was so funny when he was younger, wish he would show more humor nowadays
Wicked british humor..Another Mellow..rare!!
Amazing!! Love the funny intro, the setlist and this is one of the most beautiful versions of Levon I've ever heard.
Thank you for this ! Couldn’t stop listening! Great quality sound❤🎹🎼🎼
omg insane quality
Have Mercy On The Criminal sounds awesome
Haven’t heard it in this recording yet but I heard it live at a concert in Little Rock, Arkansas on the farewell tour. Made the hairs on my arms stand on end, literally.
Elton’s vocals and Davey’s guitar were phenomenal, especially for them being septuagenarians.
@@colbybelk have mercy these days is much better than what it used to be imo
Great sound quality!!!
Thanks!!!!
What a great show thank you again
Fantastic. Great sound quality.
The Elton of my beguinnings!! Great emotion!! Thank' a lot!!!❤❤

I heard 11/17/70 on a special radio broadcast the night it debuted in New York to 100 people. Awesome show. I still have the ORIGINAL LP. I’m still young at heart (65)………………….
soundboard quality bro , yassss
I wonder what Radio program Elton used to listen to as a youngster . A real Goon lol.
Avevo 5 anni e già lo amavo💓
where did you find this. it's great.
Susie!
Where and how was this mix produced at such quality???
Must be Elton,Dee and Nigel 😊
Thank you for uploading and the Thumbnail looks so great!!! how can I get the original image?
I need some advice. If I use(someday) the time machine to go to Elton's 70s concerts (I'm already 50), he will definitely notice me and ask me wtf is going on. What should I tell him? 🤔The versions, please
Attendance was 509
Love Sir Elton but I need not ever hear Rocket Man again, why doesn't he ever do Ballad of a well Known Gun, a great song!
Maybe you can go back in time to 1972 and ask him to play Ballad of a well-known gun hey I agree I can't take the hits I can't stand bennyandthejets I can't stand Crocodile Rock It just I just skip to the next song I can't do Rocket Man one more time
What a great recording of the REAL Sir Elton!!! This is a fantastic find!!!! This should be remastered immediately for everyone to appreciate!!
he has done ballad of a well known gun best version better than studio in 2010
And Davey 😂
He changed his middle name after one of his songs.
1:56:48 Sounds like 1982 lmao
*August 1
No, the date here is correct.
Honky SHAWteau. 😂
At that time your song was a song like any other... Not a super hit to be sung att he end of the show
