- If you want to really learn Spanish, the best way is to listen and speak the most common Spanish phrases as often and as accurately as possible. If you want to learn Spanish well, these videos will help you do that. And doing it in a relaxed way is even better!!!! That is why I chose these phrases in the first part of a series called "Relax 'n Learn".

The idea is to be in as relaxed or calm a state as possible. Put on headphones if you need to. Best time is the right before you go to bed. The brain is supposedly more receptive in that relaxed state.
The plan: listen to this as often as possible until the words and phrases are natural to you, that you don't even need to think to say them.
These phrases can be used mainly for the first encounters. What do you say to people who you don't know at all or don't know very well? Those phrases.
Part 2 will continue with very useful phrases for Spanish learners in the same relaxed manner.
The phrases are spoken with the main accent of Spain.

Sing the word. It makes it easier to remember. Say it in English then repeat it in spanish. Index cards help too

I have improved my Spanish a lot by listening to these phrases. Trust me, I have struggled for a very long time. Now I'm able to hold a bit of a conversation in Spanish. In fact, I've been able to help and assist and even translate (I still don't know how I'm doing it) Spanish to English when a Spanish speaking person needs help when no other Spanish speaking individuals are present. Learning more than one language is truly a gift. And I cherish on continuing to learn Spanish now.

Thank you for Posting. I started learning Spanish last year while deployed to Honduras. I made great progress there, but when I came home it's been slower because I'm not around Spanish as often. Your videos are a big help because I know a lot of words through different Apps like Duolingo, but your videos are helping me through more exposure to the language.

As a linguistics and education major, as well as a decades-long student of languages (as my primary pastime), I consider this SPANISH tutorial perhaps the very best on UA-cam (the same with the Italian...tutorial by Eko) for the following reasons: Both the English and Spanish words and phrases appear on the same screen; the audios of both are includes (rather than trying to force students to be glued to their PC screen throughout the video), and the target language's (Spanish) audio is read out THREE TIMES (very important for effective learning; only once would definitely not be enough!). Furthermore, this tutorial is NOT rushed, as are several others I've checked; and there's no background noise, which would distract a student's concentration.... Thanks for this excellent and considerate Spanish tutorial. Again, please do click on THUMBS UP for this video, which it certainly deserves.

This is very well done. I like this because the phrases are only repeated twice, and I can also read how they are spelled. The Spanish words are spelled out as well as the English translation. This will work well not only for the people who is looking to be fluent in Spanish but also for the people who are learning the English language. Thank you for posting this. Well done!
Thank you for the dedication in posting this videos! These are exactly what I needed! I was learning Spanish words, but had no clue as to how to put them into practice and place them into proper sentences! I am slowly but surely learning these things and am speaking to my co-workers in Spanish, and they are surprised that I have been able to learn so much!

+Mohammed Khdair actually, spanish is one of the most easiest languages to learn. Of course, it depends on the other languages you speak fluently. I speak fluent french and it's so much easier because french and spanish are really similar. Anyway, dont give up, anything can be done fast if you are enough motivated.

Yes. The difference is regional and semantic. Honestly for latin american Spanish, best would be without the article. Some will say it with. The meaning is slightly different. Once is more emphatic that you "ARE" that adjective. You would use the article un/ una especially if you follow with more details. Example
Soy un profesor que enseña inglés. I am a teacher that teaches English.
Small differences like this will not interfere with communication either. Thanks for the question. :)
I learnt in school not to use the article (a/an) before professions in spanish e.g (Soy profesora en vez de Soy una profesora.) But I have seen the article being used sometimes with professions or occupations. In your video the article is used. So, thanks for this explanation.
Little things like articles and prepositions are often used in different ways than we think in Spanish and English. It is one of those things you just have to learn as you go.

I feel he really needs to say the words slower and clearer for people learning. He is running through them to quickly and needs to understand people learning a language need it to be spoken clearly , to enable them to pick up the sounds of each word. Alot of the sounds are just not spoken/ or heard in peoples our native tongue, so let them hear it slowly and preciously and after time , they will start to comprehend these sounds better.
