Stuff I stumbled across in random places there in akihabara. Meet and greet a hentai VA in some random corridor on the third floor of a building. A idol competition that is held bi weekly (i think). Business men wearing bunny ears playing poker with a cat maid girl as a dealer. A cute cafe in a alley covered with plants that has that weird European nice china kind of vibe, I forgot what that theme is called, but one of my favorite cafes in the world. A post apocalyptic maid cafe where you are required to role play as one of the last surviving humans. Oh and some jazz with, you guessed it, maids playing top tier jazz. Never change akihabara.
yes, very good prices, if you search for specific things on their website at their location, they will 99% will have it. Got all games from the first three pokemon gens all for $120 total.
The alleyways you mentioned were one of the two last old vestiges of Denden town (Electric Town). You can still go upstairs and find rental boxes filled with retro electronic gear.
I see a Suruga-ya in the background of one of the shots! It’s a great place to order from if you live outside Japan as they have nearly constant free international shipping these days! Although the prices aren’t as much of a steal from US retail as they used to be to offset this, I’ve still found some really cool stuff from them over the past year or so. Would be fun to see what’s inside one at some point, so that could be an idea!
That’s true! I used to live in a certain area of Shinjuku and I walked a lot there. My other friend still lives there. This year we were walking and decided just to change a bit our regular route and we found a temple and new places, we were so surprised even though it felt that we walked around this area so many times but after years we were able find new things!
Would love to see you visit Harajuku someday! Curious to see a 'fashion' side content in your vlogs (seeing japanese street style and you trying them out)
Coolest thing I've found in Akihabara are actually the the electronics component stores. The old guard. I can find a lot of different things there. It evokes a lot of different memories. I think I'll challenge myself to go and build something there in one day. Just pick a circuit and build it by buying components in those shops.
Hey Moodan 🐄 What I think you should do is go to real some life anime location around Tokyo and try to recreate some scenes from those anime. You can also see how hard it is to get a photo printed and framed in Japan 🗾
OH MY GOD!!! I was there in May, I visited the first 2 places (The Anime figure store and the TCG store), in the Anime figure store there's a second hand Video game section in the basement with some Collector's Edition games that were REALLY cheap
I also vote for used clothes shop, like Off-House, which you skipped. That's surburban used clothes shop chain and the products are generic, which I also use and I like it. But actual vintage select shop or something like that are in like Shimokitazawa or that sort of place, lil bit more fashionable street. Furugi 古着 culture is massive. Most importantly, many big male foreigners cannot fit in Japanese skinny boys clothes, but you probably can wear them.
I can't think of a better way to spend an hour than just going into some random Akiba stores. Thanks, fella~! What sorts of wacky things will Mudan get up to tomorrow?
Day 22 of asking Mudan each day this month to make an onsen video. An hour in Akihabara doing the most you can??? Weak. An hour at an onsen???? STRONG Come on mudan clearly you know what you should have done.
There’s an office building like 10 mins by foot from Akhibara that has sick cars in the parking lot. It is so exclusive that B3 is illegal to enter if you are not from the people in that office building.
Since the Estonia fire video I'm now starting to think that your 6/10 ratings need a 1.5 point increase in order to match North American ratings. Just okay meaning it's actually really good, but wouldn't have it multiple times a week. Thank you for sharing! Also, I believe I went to the same Karaoke space with my sister when I was there
Well, if I translate from the kanjis over "Man's Lab" it just says that is a store that it doesn't have any employees... not sure what it will be but it doesn't specify what is about:無人 (without people) 販売 (selling) 型 (style/type) 店舗 (store), the 当ビル means (this building in question) 7F (seven floor) 入口 (entrance). Maybe inside there's the answer we're all looking for and is thHAVE YOU CONSIDERED SPEED RUNNING EVERY SINGLE TEMPLE IN TOKYO?!
This place is actually called "Men's Omega Lab". It's an unmanned concept store with vending machines that sell adult mens (not the kinky kind but they do sell tengas) products by the Dr. East brand.
If I only had 1 hr in Akiba, I’d walk down the Yamanote line to Kanda (near the station) and grab a bowlf of my favorite tsukemen at a small noodle shop called Musashi Menya! Trust it’ll rock your world 🗺️
literally the same delima I had going to Japan my first time on a bus tour... Only had 1 hr in Akihabara at 9am... before all the stores even opened :(
in aki one thing i never skip is Moses kebab. it's like 600 yen for super tasty kebab and very unique atmosphere (dude is always blasting tupac). right by the station and best cheap meal around. he's been there for like 10 years and his story is awesome. pay him a visit
Doesn't Tokyo have a lot of basement or underground areas connected to the train stations? Perhaps you could try doing 24hrs in Tokyo underground together with Foxie and Babysitter sometime??
2:56 So many of my japanese friends go to karaoke alone all the time. It shocks me cause I love karaoking with other people, doing it alone sounds kinda boring to me :(
Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of haha. I need to prepare myself in advance mentally a lot before I can go to a place where I have to interact with people
Soon enough you can start revisiting some previous locales you liked or think deserve another look. Try a different menu item or a service you passed up previously.
Day 68 of just saying Hello to Mudan: These have turned out to be not just saying hello to Mudan after all... oh well, those Fish cookies have always looked delicous to me, don't ruin this for me Mudan, please.
Maybe next time, no karaoke's lol. That may have killed alot of time for a 1HR to do in Aki. First bit of the video was great because you skipped the popular parts and explored places people usually miss, including that boardgame store. Do more off that, instead of Karaoke places and restaurants.
I love how honest your reviews are, no crazy reaction, just how you'd normally talk to a friend. It's so refreshing and genuine :D
Came to say something similar. It's refreshing to see videos without fake "ooohhhhh you have to see this!" in every video
This was cool.
Love the random exploring stuff. It really feels like Tokyo is just a city of infinite exploration

bopping to the diddy kong racing OST in akiba is definitely a new vibe
Thank you for this. The song sounded so familiar but I couldn't put my finger on it.

You're both welcome, I still play this game to this day and I'm glad my unnatural obsession with it has somehow finally helped somebody.

That's why we call him the GOAT!
Surugaya is one of the biggest chains in Japan, second hand video games and figures. Really good prices too
yes, very good prices, if you search for specific things on their website at their location, they will 99% will have it. Got all games from the first three pokemon gens all for $120 total.
The vintage fashion stores are always so fun!! would love to maybe see some content related to that in the future :D also great pink polo find 🌸
The alleyways you mentioned were one of the two last old vestiges of Denden town (Electric Town). You can still go upstairs and find rental boxes filled with retro electronic gear.
Is that where Tokyo Lens did a video about Shimeyama-san's shop? It looked somewhat familiar to me.

I wanted to comment something witty since I'm early but I have social anxiety and I'm just writing a confession now ...
love knowing you went to the suruguya behind the akiba station i been there too, found some doujin music cds for really cheap too..
6:24 Mudon, you made me laugh a lot with the "Ai caramba" censoring the figure that was showing on display.

Can we get a specialist episode for good R18 Dujin stores to visit? The Mandrake store gets old.

8:46 That edit is smooth
8:03 Well lucky you, it's not 1000mg of caffeine, it's 1000mg of taurine, same amount of taurine in a 250mL can of Red Bull.

"Where do I get recognized the most in Tokyo"
MY DAILY OBLIGATIONS: UPLOADED AT 3:19AM AEST , OMG BABE WAKE UP NEW MUDAN VIDEO. SALARY MAN MUDAN IS STILL DEAD!!!

Mudan's Estonian tastes are what you would call the norm, even among Estonians, as evidently noted in the chocolate review video
i mean 200mg is just like 1-2 cups of coffee depending mostly on how it was brewed
Or roughly 3 shots of espresso
Man, I wanna visit that place sometime!
The thing about Akihabara is that you dont normally dedicate just 1hr, its a whole day ordeal, unless you have an explicit activity you wanna do
Bopping to the diddy kong racing theme😂
Mudan you should go to Shin Okubo Korea Town where all the young hipsters such as yourself love
Day 99 of commenting to help with the algorihthm :D
oooooooo
pog one more day
Nice
Haha very fitting that I'm watching this 1 hour after it was uploaded lol
hot taiyaki in winter is 100/10, in summer, 6/10 is probably about right
le epic adventure!!!
There is a cool thing to do in Akihabara. Temple/Shrine speedrun.
That or doujin hunting for the most cursed doujinshi.
Tip for those going to Akiba, go on Mon-Thurs as there will be significantly less ppl than Fri-Sun
i just realized he stop wearing his suit
honestly 1 hour is the perfect amount of time in akihabara,

Heyo, Akihabara the Electric City. 😂😂😂
Concept cafes are really not that sketchy. It's basically the same as a maid cafe except you have a lot more conversations with the workers there.
Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of haha. I need to prepare myself in advance mentally a lot before I can go to a place where I have to interact with people
we are so close to the real speedrun
Soon enough you can start revisiting some previous locales you liked or think deserve another look. Try a different menu item or a service you passed up previously.
Akihabara is so damn cool.
I’m a weeb and I don’t go to Akihabara, I mostly don’t have anything to do there 🫠 Ikebukuro Otome Road is my weeb spot 😎
As an otome girl I too favour Otome Road & Ikebukuro in general 😊I'm interested in trying out Nakano Broadway as well!
