They are based off of the catfish yokai that causes earthquakes
That would be the Namazu. They are also based on the muddy monk Yokai- Dorotabo
Capcom's currently confirmed that the definitive inspiration for the Almudron is indeed the Dorotabo, but they used an eastern dragon like motif for the monster's full design! (source: www.4gamer.net/games/529/G052989/20210224001/)

what do you think of almudron, is it a mamalian like cat because it head is 100% likely a cat creature, or a reptile because its has scale and carapace like reptile alike.

So here's the deal, mammals are descendant from Reptiles. And on top off that, there are mammals currently living that have reptilian features such as scales (think Pangolins and Armadillos). Personally I prefer how the Star Wars franchise address this topic of their own creatures by refering to them as Repto-Mammals.
Fact 6 it’s based on the Chinese dragon with 5 clawed hands and the whiskers of a Carp
I found out that Almudron is based off of the Dorotabō thanks to Milkyslim.
I hope Almudron is a sign of Lagiacrus return.

One thing I want to add.
Almudron
Say his name as if he is a transformer.
Now look at his armour and weapons.
It seems to me that his armour design is transformer/gundum/mecha themed.
Mucus acting like oil for the weapons and armour typically found in futuristic fantasies. The palico has effectively drones and the palamute becomes a flipping bike. Its designed for transformative gameplay skills wise and the way almudron fights transforms the topography. I am of the belief that he is partially transformer based.
Its not uncommon for mecha themes ib MH.
Brachy is evangelion
Dire miralis is also evangelion
Seltas's are gundum
Radobaan is mecha
And Almudron is transformers
Although I could be completely wrong as Akantor has a spartian theme which doesnt exactly make sence besides the frills looking like spartian helmet wear.
Best monster in Rise, and a valuable addition to the series going forward.

They really played on the mud term as much as they could with this monster! So they had to make that mudball reference somewhere in there
We need more Fish-like/ Fish based Monsters.
I can agree to welcoming more new monsters under Leviathans and Piscine Wyvern category!

First off, bring back Lavasioth cuz it's my favourite monster (alongside Yian Garuga).
Ok then a Leviathan inspired, well Leviathan monster.
Then bring back Gobul or Nibelsnalf (or both) this way the Stingray skeleton is in the game.
Once you have that, you can make a monster inspired by the Hafgufa, wich is a mythological fish that mimics Islands for eating sailors using that skeleton.
Give the rays a Goss Harag treatment and add a endgame high tier monster for that group.
Then a Pegasus inspired Piscine Wyvern that is a sea horse, but with the wings used for swimming of Plesioth and Cephadrome for imitatimg Pegasus' wings (and the sea horse obviosly does the horse part).
Not a fish, but a decorator crab that is based upon homunculuses that sticks corals and algae on its back and make it look like it's made of diffent bodyparts attached manually.
Then a Piscine Wyvern with Delex's skeleton that swims trough dirt and rock that when emerges looks like a zombie resuscitating from death, wich will be the monster's mythological inspiration.
Ogre and Blobfish mix Monster.
Oh, and as invader a pack hunting betta-like Piscine Wyvern that fights always with three other smaller monsters with long black fins that imitate veils and togheter they are the four horsemen of apocalypse, wich brings me to the final boss:
An Abbadon inspired giant pufferfish in the Stingray skeleton that swims in air and does Yamatsukami-like vacuum voring attacks.

I just hate perspective whenever I fight it, feels like it's far away then I get bonks with its tail all of a sudden
Good video. I would however suggest you script your video introductions in the future as for the first one and a half minutes until the actual content began, you sounded a bit like a broken record.
