Hi Julie, I've been watching you for many years, way before you started doing resin. You are extremely generous in sharing all your tips and tricks. If anybody can conquer waves, it's you. That second one is a beauty. I got so excited when that lacing started to show up. 😂 now I have to watch it again to learn for myself. Bravo!!!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I've been trying to master this a little at a time. I think I can figure it out now! I will just have to practice like you.
I’ve had success with Platinum ultra clear. You have to wait until it thickens but it does work. Heat the resin with your heat gun, add clear where you want the white, then add your white layer on top of the clear. Just resin titanium white seems to work the best for me.
Julie, I have done waves and I put down a line of clear resin along the front of the blue then I add the white line along the clear resin. It seems to move better over the blue. That second one is definitely gorgeous!!!
@@PouringYourHeartOut, If I paint my board then I will cover the whole painted part with clear then I will add the white on the clear right at the edge of the painted part. I think the clear helps the white to move as you blow it out. You did a fabulous job on that second one you did. The lacing was great! I think you have got it figured out. Can't wait to see more!! I have been watching you for a long time and I want so bad to try blooms but am too scared to try that yet. One day soon I hope.
Nice job! I just tried this for the first time as well (after watching multiple other people's videos), and it worked great. My takeaway from those videos, was wait till your resin is at least 31C (just like with blooms), then after you add the blue colors, add a thin strip of clear resin, (that sits halfway on the last blue color, and sits halfway on the board, and then add your thin strip of white on top of the clear. Warm the white resin first (top down), then blow at an angle to get the waves. It worked magnificently! I did use 2 drops of silicone oil in my white, so I have to try it without the oil as well. Thanks for all your trials and inspiration.
Hello Julie I been doing ocean waves charcuterie boards for over a year now and the trick is to but more than the 5% of the white paste in your resin. And no need to wait The other trick is to put a line of clear risin then your white line The white resin line should be touching your cupboard and the transparent resin I hope this helps you In love with your tutorials and your gorgeous molds
Hi Julie. Thank you for sharing and teaching us so much!! I’ve been watching your videos for a while now and every time I learn something new ❤ I always thought you needed a clear layer first. Something else you taught me!! Thank you for all you do❤
How exciting to see you get exactly what you wanted, cells and lacing! I got excited and was cheering you on Chica! Way to do a wave painting! I love it because it came out looking like waves. Absolutely beautiful 😍! ❤🎉😊
Woohoo, go, Julie ❤. Lol... I'm excited for you, too, as I've never been able to do them. I'm going to have a try again. Maybe after Christmas as I think I need some new equipment.
I watch a lot of resin videos. People do it with all different techniques. I think it depends on the project and amount of space you have. People use acrylic paint, resin, spray paint and power wash. I even saw someone use paint and a tooth pick on a tiny project. Others use a straw or a bulb pump to spread it or a smaller heat gun. You have more control those ways. I think the easiest is to layer it. Let the blue background cure. Then come in with the waves but put down clear first so the white can spread easily. Then clear coat after it dries. Then you can even do a second layer of waves. Can you try some more techniques for us? Your technique worked out great! Well done! And thank you for taking time with your teaching. It’s appreciated!
Hey Julie Just Resin Diamondcoat works best for waves if you leave the white till 10 mins before the pot life is due. You use a line of clear at the front of your blues where you want the wave to be. When tim,r goes off for the ten mins before the pot life heat the already laid down resin with the heat gun on low blow and mid heat moving all the time. Then start off the board with the white so any blobs fall off piece and run the white thinly along front of clear line so it touches the clear and the sand area. Finish off the board. Now use heat gun on low heat and high blow and have it low and just angled off the board and move back and forth aiiming the blow just in behind the white to move the white over the clear and across the coloured area. You can lift at front slightly to help white area move back more. I prefer to use the concentrator nozzle (wedding cake looking one) rather then the Playpus one you used. Use a smaller butane then the one you have to then use it to move fast and dont stop in one area over the blown out white to break up the white and create lacing. I have some how toos on my UA-cam re resin wave making. Im a very quiet You tube maker....mainly do videos as a reminder to myself but it may help you if you care to look.Alchemy Art By Annette Husband
I love it I was going wow about all the resin you have & laughing with you about your excitement 😊 Thank You for sharing with all of us. I’m in America & I’ve learned so much from you & others outside the country 😊
Nice job Julie I love it! I have been wanting to try the waves too but have yet to try. So thank you for trying again I have learned a lot! Now I will give it a try thanks again for the inspiration!
Well hey, that worked out great. And I wouldn't worry too much about the white in the corner, a lot of times when waves have been high and pounding on the shore, it often does kick up a lot of white foam--I think that looked just like waves coming up onto the sand on a beach! Well done, Julie!👏👍
Way to go Julie ❤ Waves are hard to do. I haven't been able to get them right. I will have to practice again especially after the Holidays. Thank you for sharing this video ❤
I have watched several ways too and the one that gets best results, blows with a straw and then adds the heat for the cells. Much thinner lines f white too.
Hi Julie LOVE your channel and your molds! I follow Sandy from Sandy’s Organized Chaos. She uses a clear layer of resin between the sand and color then adds Aleene’s Glitter Snow. She is an amazing teacher like yourself. 😊 Just saw your finished piece! Beautiful!!!
Hi Julie, I think that lacing came out beautiful. Also, I wanted to mention that some people put a layer of clear resin before adding the white. I don't know why? Maybe it helps to spread better 🤔 I have followed you for quite some time, and I love all the effort and work you put in for us to learn. Thank you so much ❤️ 🎉
I normally pour a thin line of clear resin just in front of the white resin (between the white and blue resins) so that when you blow the white resin, it picks up the clear resin and not the coloured resin. That way you get white waves and not coloured waves. That’s one of my tips.
I like your excitement and enthusiasm. You mentioned wishing there was someone willing to share how to make things work. You might like to watch a lady named Michelle who has a channel called Glitz N' Glitter. She explains things very well. She experiments too and isn't afraid to show her failures as well as successes.
I learned from your fellow Aussie Procrastipainter... she's like you and tests all different types of whites to use etc... I put a line of clear between the color and the white and I would suggest making your white more opaque... have fun!
Hey Julie! Thanks for sharing! I remember when I created waves before I had the stroke, that I put a thin clear line of resin after the white (Colour Passion Top white) which made it lace. Or in front if you have their Base White. Michelle from Glitz and Glitter, uses UV resin to make it work ❤️🫂
WOW that is just brilliant !!!! awesome stuff . I am like you and hate when some creators go *if you want to do this pay me and i will show you* instead of sharing and not standing behind a paywall with creating . I just practice doing mine using uv resin as i dont have 2 part
You do have to wait for the color resin to thicken like maybe 30 to 45 mins and then add the white and blow it that's just my experience on how I did it on my coasters.
I remember a long time ago i seen that you pour clear resin along the white line you put down, then you can use the blower.. listen, please, im not positive in that, lol😊
Just put sand on the bottom! It'll be a completed piece! I need help getting resin from the usa, let me know and I'll help you any way I can. I'm on social security, and as you know, someone stole all of my eyes while I was in the hospital, so I'd have to go online and purchase some and send it to you let me know what I can do to help you
You are by far THE BEST, and dear Fiona in Europe is your biggest fan. Must admit there is one that … wishes she were you🤮 You are always either calm or excited, love your enthusiasm, and try everything. So proud of you ❤
Nice job! I think whether there’s a need to wait for the resin to thicken completely depends on the resin being used. I learned how to do oceans and ocean waves from Erica at ArtistTilDeath. She’s an amazing resin artist and is great about sharing/teaching. Check her out!

So true, we have been on the journey with Julie when she first started, I've learned a lot from her along the way 🥰

Do you add the clear line even if you used clear resin over a painted surface?

That wood with whatever resin design would make great table mats !

I love and respect your sharing nature Julie! ❤
I’m excited for you! I think you’ve cracked it! 👍☺️🫶🏻
We love u n that’s why we follow you!
Watch artist till death she doesn’t charge anything and she’s amazing
That was so exciting. Well done.
Wow!! You have A Lot of Resin's!! Lol 😊!! Good for you,!! It looks like so much fun!!😊
I could only wish to have one of these products and learn! I think you did an amazing job 👏,,!

Viewing from the caribbean julie your waves came out goregous well done 🌊🌊🌊
You are so cute! You are definitely on your way. You got great lacing! Keep playing. xoxoxooxoxoox

Wow! when I first saw the thumbnail I thought that was a real beach. You did a really good job 👏

Hi lovely lady, pop a line of clear resin between the white and the blue, it will help the white spread out ❤
Well hey, that worked out great. And I wouldn't worry too much about the white in the corner, a lot of times when waves have been high and pounding on the shore, it often does kick up a lot of white foam--I think that looked just like waves coming up onto the sand on a beach! Well done, Julie!👏👍
They came out perfect.. 🤩
Woohoo! How exciting! I love learning along with you.
Way to go Julie ❤ Waves are hard to do. I haven't been able to get them right. I will have to practice again especially after the Holidays. Thank you for sharing this video ❤
Great job Julie❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Julie, The people I have seen doing this method, always put some clear before the white. I think it helps the white move better.
I have watched several ways too and the one that gets best results, blows with a straw and then adds the heat for the cells.
Much thinner lines f white too.
Thanks for sharing!
A lot of channels use a white with silicone oil in it. I've used silicone oil, and it works great. Amazing lacing and cells ❤❤

that really looks like an overhead shot of a beach
Julie, Do you remember learning to put a rail of clear resin for the white to blow onto? ❤ Lesson well done.
Awesome!💜
I like your excitement and enthusiasm. You mentioned wishing there was someone willing to share how to make things work. You might like to watch a lady named Michelle who has a channel called

Thanks for this one. it's something I really struggle with
Hi Julie, one place I've seen is Sandy's Organized Choas show simple different techniques, and she loves sharing
but pretty
Another resin artist that I watch here in the states seems to use a pigment paste that is made especially for or made to produce lacing in the waves.
Hey Julie! Thanks for sharing! I remember when I created waves before I had the stroke, that I put a thin clear line of resin after the white (Colour Passion Top white) which made it lace. Or in front if you have their Base White. Michelle from Glitz and Glitter, uses UV resin to make it work ❤️🫂
Love it great work Julie❤
you can paint the background colors of the ocean, then your resin doesn’t need to be deep or thick ❤
also after the light blue add a line of clear resin to the wood where the sad meets the ocean
You used the Ocean White in the Santa face... why not in your ocean?
looks fab i would let it set an put sand at the bottom x
WOW that is just brilliant !!!! awesome stuff . I am like you and hate when some creators go *if you want to do this pay me and i will show you* instead of sharing and not standing behind a paywall with creating . I just practice doing mine using uv resin as i dont have 2 part
You do have to wait for the color resin to thicken like maybe 30 to 45 mins and then add the white and blow it that's just my experience on how I did it on my coasters.
Try the top cell white from colour Passion and talk with Kym about waves etc.
Julie alway gives step by step talkes you threw her project's measurements and all cant say she doesn't share she shares it all if able
And the white line of resin make it thicker so yuo have enough white to be able to blow
👏
Heat makes better cells. Spritz of alcohol makes cells, and makes existing cells pop more.
😊
I remember a long time ago i seen that you pour clear resin along the white line you put down, then you can use the blower.. listen, please, im not positive in that, lol😊
Then spray a spritz of alcohol
Artist till Death teaches how to do waves etc on their UA-cam page
Just put sand on the bottom! It'll be a completed piece! I need help getting resin from the usa, let me know and I'll help you any way I can. I'm on social security, and as you know, someone stole all of my eyes while I was in the hospital, so I'd have to go online and purchase some and send it to you let me know what I can do to help you
Shouldnt the waves be going the other way....
Also do not heat the white you just want to push it cause if you heat it you thin it out
❤👌🏻👏🏻

I always put I line of clear resin by the white it helps push it over the other resin easier🫶🏻
