I lived in LA in the 80's-90's, we had a Peter Pipers Pizza. They advertised that the actual cast of the Power Rangers were gonna be there one night. They didn't really anticipate the amount of people that'd want to take their kids to see them, this was at the height of their popularity, too.
It was chaos lmao. There were so many people everyone was spilling out into the parking lot. Once the "Rangers" came out everyone lost their shit. The Red Rangers helmet falls off revealing he's some random black dude. Then everyone REALLY loses their shit. The fire department had to come, cops were called, people were pissed and all over the damn place. Shit was hilarious

My favorite thing about this one is hearing them make the exact same joke in every clip, but a whole year has passed so they don't remember. The most hilarious thing is that Japanese Spider-Man was one of the first shows that popularized the trope of the superhero having a mech. So it’s not only NOT a stereotype, but it’s also a huge trendsetter.
It's one of the first Super Sentai shows ever, and THE first Sentai show to have a giant mech.

Im with Stav 100% on this one. When I was a kid I thought having the name Jason was the height of coolness strictly because of Jason in Power Rangers. I also thought Red was by far the best color for the same reason.
Dude I laughed so hard at that because when I was in 2nd grade or whatever when the first MMPR season came out, I tried to tell my older sisters they had to refer to me as "Jason" from then on. They roasted me pretty bad for that because the were 6 and 8 years older than me, and now I'm gay.
Listening to them literally doing the same bit that they’ve forgotten is one of my favorite bits.

Missed opportunity I wish Nick talked about: The mech suit from the Japanese Spiderman was stolen half way through the making of the show, so the second half had to use stock footage of the robot instead.
Holy shit I watched the whole series and didn't know that. It makes sense though-Some episodes he didn't even change Marveller to Leapardon, he just blasted the monsters with Marvellers cannons. I thought it was because they were short on time.
@@nightvision_887 The story about the theft was that a Yakuza boss had a kid who was a fan of the show so he sent some of his goons to sneak onto the set and steal the suit, although that is just a rumor. The other more probable story is that the suit was damaged during shooting, and Toei didn't want to spend the money to make a new suit, so they just re-used the pre-existing footage for the Leopardon fights.
