Thanks Bill a lot of good ideas there. I'll be putting together a kit for my new convention for sure. And the bottle opener will be in there for sure mate.
I cosplayed Ezio a few years ago and had a big enough pouch to carry my mini Hot Glue gun with me. Nothing of mine broke, but I fixed stuff for 3 other people on the day of the masquerade :D This is a great comprehensive little kit!
I know it's an old video, but a good complement to that for me is a lighter. Why ? Sometimes it can get tricky to access any electricity for the hot glue gun, or you need for it to warm up and cool down after use. With the lighter you can take a stick and gently pass it in the fire of the lighter to melt the extremity (take care it doesn't make a drop), you can then apply the stick where you need a bit of glue. It's not precise and you can't cover big area at once but it is handy ! Also the lighter can melt so hot glue already on the piece you need to repair. But take care it will not melt or set your props on fire. I usually also have some screws and bolts in case I would lose one from my props ;) Finally some strap length is also useful, just in case. It went handy in a couple of case !
I always go for a low temp hot glue gun in my repair kit, or dual temp if possible (but the dual temp guns seem to be larger, not as easy to bring with you if you don't have a massive cosplay box). That way, if absolutely necessary, I can glue stuff while I'm wearing it without burning myself like I would with a high temp gun.
Good point, plus taking a bottle of wine on a plane would probably cause an issue, especially if it broke in your repair kit. Everything would have a nice red tint to it.
2 things. Extra glasses/ contacts Also. What's your con schedule? I'm going to GenCon in August and I was wondering if you were going to be there. Unfortunately I won't be cosplaying this year
Hi, I love your videos. Have a question, what would be the best adhesive to use to glue eva foam to a hard plastic surface? I tried Barge cement but it didn't adhere well to the plastic surface.
Three things i would remember are duct tape, make-up remover, and stain remover (like a tide to go pen, or the tide wipes). Also :x for girls~ Tampons, pads, and bobby pins.
I was in my first cosplay costume contest last month and this video really saved my life! Thank you!

Thank you as always for the informative video Bill. This info will most certainly help me prep for my first Con in Cosplay attire.

Great content, thanks for sharing.
One thing, you can also use the bottle opener as a hand drill.

I'd suggest including some industrial strength Velcro with adhesive backing
This is great! My first comic con will be the 20th of May. I'll be sure to bring emergency stuffs along!
Awesome. Definitely will be picking up a multi-tool. We also bring a soldering iron.

Amen on the bottle opener, but shouldnt you include a bottle of wine in your repair kit?
