And the Trooper said "Naw, that was from the PIT I did about 4hrs ago! This one on the right side is the one from THIS PIT I just did! I got a Double Header Today"!!
When my uncle owned his shop, the local police department came to him and asked if he'd be their mechanic. Great customer to have! If the car exceeded 160 kmph the car had to have a mandatory inspection front to rear top to bottom. Gotta see some stuff working on them. The K9 suv was probably one of the coolest. At the touch of a button someone could have a very nasty meat seeking fur missle homing in on ya! Door unlocks and pops open and out goes the K9!

He'd get another lightning bolt for each additional 5 stolen vehicle recoveries. Some troopers ended up with fenders with 7 or more 'lightning bolts' on their fenders. Example: 7 lightning bolts would indicate 35 to 39 stolen vehicles recovered.

I know it's not 'acceptable', but if I was Byrd, I'd be tempted to put the appropriate number of hash marks on my front fenders for every successful PIT made. I don't think there'd be much white paint visible after doing so. lol

ASP’s Chargers are the same as every other police agency’s Chargers, assuming they optioned for the Hemi V8 as at least most state police agencies do. As far as the driving, plenty of other officers are equally capable of spinning out another vehicle, but department policy prohibits them from doing so.

With impunity, folks speed, tailgate, run red lights, and generally ignore traffic laws. Have never observed a traffic stop, have observed many warrant stops, and too many accidents.

I read on one of the feeds, that he was a former go kart and dirt track racer. It all shows in how he handles the car and the speeds. I've watched a lot of his PIT videos and he's always cool as a cucumber under fire.

With impunity, folks speed, tailgate, run red lights, and generally ignore traffic laws. Have never observed a traffic stop, have observed many warrant stops, and too many accidents.

My God! What a beautiful, skilled maneuver! I've seen other Troopers fail to follow through with this maneuver and the perp just guns it and zooms off going the wrong way! Not with the Byrd maneuver! Thank you Trooper Byrd, you are the best!

Would REALLY be nice if you included some followup - why were they originally being chased, what charges, what convictions. I mean, the cam timestamp is from 2 years ago on this one, I'd think whatever was gonna happened happened by now.

@@juliebraden6911 Does it matter? For those here for the chase and TVI, probably not. Some are curious as to how the prosecutors and courts deal with these drivers and for them more context would be welcomed.

I read on one of the feeds, that he was a former go kart and dirt track racer. It all shows in how he handles the car and the speeds. I've watched a lot of his PIT videos and he's always cool as a cucumber under fire.
