Morrissey was the lead singer from one of the most iconic British bands of the 80s and 90s, The Smith's. Still massively popular as is his solo stuff. Indie music is the genre.
@mags jay The brits always imagine everyone should necessarily get all the cultural, political and other references of UK bands. Not getting the references don't preclude people from enjoying good music. I like to see these guys who don't know anything or much about an artist showing interest and actually appreciating what the artist is producing.
Rebalkin! I put in Morrisey reaction and there you were. Great review and reaction old friend. There were years of my life when I listened to The Smiths and Morrissey and little else. Hope you're well.
David Morrissey is an actor, this is Morrissey (Morris-ee). One of the biggest cult singer/songwriters in the world probably, for more than 30 years.. pls try stuff from his band The Smiths...
That strange moment when somebody is watching the same thing as you but they may as well be watching something completely different. They picked up on literally nothing and seemed to be entirely clueless about... Well, everything.
Morrissey has many great songs, but he's a twisted, grumpy guy. Used to sing in The Smiths (as you all know). I don't agree with all of his views, but I really like most of the music. Saw im live several years ago, and was surprised by the no compromises rock sound his band had. It was really loud :) BTW Morrissey is an avid vegetarian, yet also voiced some 'obscure' political views in recent years...
You’re right. We didn’t have the lyrics up. I suspect most people don’t get all the lyrics and meanings of a song on a first listen. We could be in the minority however
@@WelpHereWeAreOnUA-cam I get it, it’s difficult to take everything in on the first listen. The lyrics as some of his most dark and depressing but the music is quite upbeat and with the fun atmosphere in the live version I can appreciate why you would mistake it for a positive song.
The band is the Smiths. Not their best song, How soon is now is an iconic track but personnel favourites are Shoplifters of the World and Sheila take a bow. Stay safe I was in my teens when this was relevant back in the late 80's. And yes they are a UK band. Marr was such an underrated guitarist.
So many things wrong with this reaction. I don't think I can summon the energy to correct them. If they can to be bothered to even do minor research then I can't be bothered to correct them. Positive song? I'm dead. They seem popular? Yeah, no shit.
Your reaction is equally annoying. They seem to have just discovered Morrissey! Just give them a break! The condescending and mean spirited comments are frankly unnecessary! You can always skip to a different channel.

LOVE THIS SONG. LOVE MORRISSEY. LOVE THE SMITHS. Viva Moz!!
He is singing about the death of English sea side towns. You would have to visit one to understand.
"it's an upbeat song" ha ha similar kind of statement made by Eva Braun's dad when she was collected for her prom. "That Adolf is a nice chap"
It's from his first solo album released in 1988. Stephen Patrick Morrissey, simply Morrissey, he was the vocalist of The Smiths.
Funny watching these guys trying to get Morrissaay
Hilarious
I found it excruciating but each to their own.

Loved this gig, I was there about 8 rows from the front, the crowd knew every word and every dance move ❤️🐊🙏🦉👍

Checkout The Smiths. The songs that saved our lives. Morrissey's shows are legendary! I've seen grown men cry in the audience! 💖💖💖
When I was a kid I used to live near the girl in this video, used to see her on the bus on my way to school.
Wow! That's so cool. Did she appear happy?
@@whatheavensaid I don't remember tbh - I doubt it :)
@@sandrodossantos7764 Not sure of her name but she might have married since and changed her name anyway?
Morrissey forever
This was recorder in our hometown , Manchester.

I live where the oficial video was shot southend on sea and used to go to that record store
It's called. 'UK indie'. And his name is Steven Patrick Morrissey. Your welcome.
That strange moment when somebody is watching the same thing as you but they may as well be watching something completely different. They picked up on literally nothing and seemed to be entirely clueless about... Well, everything.
Awesome. Thank you for watching!
Meat is Murder - also the name of a Smith's album 😁

Well guys... your reactions were sweet, but after 32 years, this song still makes my teeth itch.😬
Lolol
Did you guys even notice that's Morrissey at the end of the music video??

Positive song lol Did you guys even listen to the lyrics. Great reaction though.

It’s so easy to laugh it’s so easy to hate ….
Steven Morrissey
About tory rule in the era F*** Thatcher
I do get not listening to all the lyrics, but even the chorus 'everyday is silent and grey' definitely isn't positive haha

You really don't understand.
Please educate us
@@WelpHereWeAreOnUA-cam If I have to tell you...that's really not education.
How do you explain teachers and instructors ?
You actually put Phil Collins and Morrissey in the same sentence? You really are clueless. A basic google search might be good for you.
Can you provide a link that proves that your statement is fact
