If they make remake the games for multiple platforms with the rpg story mode explaining backstory of the characters adding some mystery to the temple and turning it into a treasure hunter kinda game then it will definitely get popular again

I think main reason for downfall is change in gaming after 2016 smartphones get more powerful and everyone got internet on thier touch which boosted online multiplayer gaming in India. whereas temple run still stucked on thier same concept on endless running which becomes boring after a time
