I'm dying with the requirement of having these costumes to be tested for a roman citizenship 😂
Mmmm that is problematic
After the costume preview they gave us on Patreon, I’m a bit sad they decided to put Foil in a t-shirt!
@@foilarmsandhog quick, CPR!
That IIII - IV is brilliant.
It really is! So inspired 😀👍
Now that you've written it, I get it. Thanks!
III - IV - V - VI actually😂
@@nnagildan8455 The joke is that roman numerals used both IIII and IV for 4.
@@ShaderF No, the Romans used IV and only IV. The IIII came much later, possibly much Middle Ages . So thx for trying to explain wrongly something I already knew 👏🏻 The actual joke is referring to a clock face where it reads III, IIII, V.
Arms' accent transports you right back to roman times, when the empire was so big that any accent was roman 😆.
😂 true
Bahahaha savage 😂
Yes. When I stood on Hadrian's Wall, my overwhelming thought was that this was a long long long way from Rome.
@@SamFAHnthaloving the Romanised name change.
I did not see that ending coming 😂😊
“The Fiat 126”
brilliant!
I didn't get this reference, can you explain please?
@@Ensign_Roque that’s a very tiny and old Fiat car model. 😅
Ah Ok thank you 😄
When I was growing up,we used to say that Fiat stood for "Fix it again, Tony"!!
It should be the Vespa
What are the greatest examples of Roman writing?
Metamorphoses, the Aeneid and Times New Roman.
I was expecting a times new Roman joke...
Naming a work by Ovid might be risky, the dude was exiled after all
“When in Rome, look out for pick-pockets.”
Sounds like a relative’s advice when talking about holidays lol 😂
yes so many clips of pickpockets lately, they seem to carry a map, umbrella, huge scarf and bags and try to open zippers of bags. scary as almost hesitate to visit italy.
I went to Italy for the first time in 2001 and was warned about the pick pockets then. I was on a group tour and someone felt a slight nudge in their back pocket, it was a teenager with their hand in the person's pocket, they ran into a crowd and disappeared. Just be vigilant. That was the only vaguely negative experience I have had. The rest of my trips to Italy have all been amazing 😍.
Be careful of pickpockets, but the place in Rome where you are most likely to be robbed is... in a taxi. 😂
_(Foil Arm and Hogs)_
No, its legit. If you get anywhere close to the central station watch out for "random encounters"...
That's my main advice when friends ask me about going to Italy! A moment's distraction can ruin the whole vacation!
“Who is the most famous Roman?”
“Russell Crowe.”
Had me absolutely crying laughing right out of the gate, you’ve done it again 😂😂😂
Didnt get that one. Can you explain?
@@wombataldebaran9686 Russell Crowe, The Gladiator movie.
@@wombataldebaran9686 Russel Crowe played the Roman general Maximus in the movie Gladiator, which won an Oscar and is pretty well-known nowadays.
@wombataldebaran9686 Old Baron Wombat and you don't get a Russell Crowe Roman Gladiator connection?
Have you heard the other meaning of wombat? Or are you just being ironic? Confused Pom.
@@MSte21It's funny because he wasn't even Roman, he was Spanish if I remember correctly
As an ancient Roman, I can say that Arms nailed the accent. 😌
Defo
Well, the Romans did make it to Britain.
It's Kaiser, not Siisar.
@@uladzimirdarozhkait's "Kàe-sar" to be more precise, but definitely not Siiiiisar. 😁
Your name makes your claim so much better.
"I would have also accepted Polanski" lmao 😂
Times New Roman would have been good too !
I _immediately_ thought of Polanski 🤣

“All roads lead to…” - “Congestion!” Too right! Already spent an hour in traffic on the Autobahn this morning 🥴
Urrrghh!
Autobahn? In Rome?.......autopista maybe 😅😅😅😅 Greetings from Brescia 🇮🇹
Well, if you drive a car in Rome today, you're asking for trouble. In ancient times, wheeled traffic was only allowed at night (go figure, as the lads might say).
@@mariateresamendez155Ciao, siamo vicine di casa - sono di Concesio - come facciamo a trascinare i lads a fare show qui in Italia 😂😂?
@@mariateresamendez155 of course not in Rome but we have roads in Germany, too 😉 and contrary to popular belief most of the time you can’t drive as fast as you like because there is too much traffic
Posting this on the Ides of March makes this just so much better 😂
Infamy Infamy... They've all got it in for me!!! 😁
@@raimohoft1236 Et tu Brute
„Silvio Berlusconi“ 😂😂 you can’t watch them only once can you.
He was obvious, though.
I may have shouted it at my phone....
I saw that one coming a mile away - still funny though! 😂
That was the only one I tried guessing. Loud.
I guess two large pillars were just lying around in the office, right? 😂
Yep
Does your office not have spare pillars? You need to redecorate.
"I'll get the tigers"
I'm dying 😂😂
Not as much as they'll be in a few moments.
Shouldn't they be lions?
Thus is when I finally cracked up. Great laugh- thanx!
Not many people understand a tiger's dietary requirements. Most people think tigers just eat mindlessly, but most of them I've met are actually quite picky when it comes to kale.
That's why I wear my kalesuit whenever I'm at the colosseum.
Humans are a low-nutrient food source for the carnivores.
This video is truly the logical extension of “How often do you think of the Roman Empire?”
I close my eyes and think of the Roman Empire.
At least once a day is mandatory... or off to the lions it goes! 🤗
On rewatching, "all the sacking" is a fantastic line!
I had to look it up, for more meanings, to get the word pun, 😇 👌😃
Someone please explain 😊
@@donjon9853 The ancient city of Rome has been sacked multiple times... but 'to get the sack' or 'be sacked' also means to be released from work ;X :)
@@tobiMelka Thaaanks 😊
Had to look at comments to understand it…I thought they said Olive sacking
How sweet that you mentioned the Fiat 126...it was our family carriage when I was a child ..back in ancient Rome of course😅
Dear Foil, Arms, and of course - Hog,
My wife and I just wanted to thank you all for the amazing show in Warsaw. Even though I had a week straight from a Polish folk tale - you know, the sad ones with dragons and missing turnips - you made me laugh until I nearly forgot my own name!
We bought your pendrive, thinking it was just a bit of merch, and boom - whole past shows on there! It was like Christmas came early, if Christmas involved a healthy dose of Irish absurdity and more potato jokes than a Polish family reunion.
The only thing missing is Hog's signature on our poster. So, consider this fair warning: we WILL be stalking… I mean, attending your future shows until we get that autograph!
Thanks for the laughs - you guys are brilliant.
Cheers,
M. & N.
This is the perfect timing because my brother is going to Rome next week and now he knows how to get in
Hopefully he likes tigers
The pickpocketing is real. Only place that’s ever happened to me. Got my iPad stolen right out of my travel bag in Termini Station. 🙄🙄🙄 Petty crime, but the city is otherwise safe. Just be ultra-careful with your valuables.
Also the hand gesturing is going extra crazy on Romans.
Ave! Thank you so much for the fabulous show last night in Tallinn! We laughed and we giggled and enjoyed every single moment! I thought people were exaggerating when saying that they left your show with an aching jaw from smiling.. no, they are not. And you can't stop smiling even a day after (and after) 😅 Your show has such a light aftertaste - you assure us that there is light at the end of a tunnel and it's not the headlight of the approaching train!
Hope to yous one day in Riga!
Thanks so much! We had a great time
“a light aftertaste” what a wonderful way of putting it 🙂
Excellent Roman numerals riddle
Thanks!
And, while I'm here, happy St Pat's Day for Sunday☘️
"Caesar Salad" got me laughing hard😂😂😂
Cheers!
@@foilarmsandhog 🥗
Fully expected that joke! :D
It's Kaiser salad, for Emperor's sake.
And the fact it was invented in Tijuana Mexico makes it even better!
Just in time for the Ides of March! 😂
Foil Arms and Hog: Ridiculam primum, cogitant post
The mini-skirts! 🤣
Thanks for a wonderful start to my Thursday again, lads!
Ah lads brilliant one! Love seeing Hog at the verge of cracking throughout! And Arms' perfect Roman accent and dedication to wearing the costume although we don't see you! Very authentic. Great set too ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Silvio Berlusconi made me cackle. Veni, vidi, ridi.
The fact that you shot this to look like the Ben Hur technicolor is killing meeeee
Thank you!!!
This opens up the possibilities for other ancient places! I love it. ❤
They could also do fictional places
It's funny how these 2 Irish guys fit in the Romans' image, naturally, including their haircuts!? I'm nearly sorry we can't see those mini skirts on 🤭😁
Love this new spin on the immigration sketch! Can’t beat a bit of history
I expected the Berlusconi joke and I still laughed 😂
I assumed they had more alternatives but that it was going to be modern
More epic than the colosseum itself, being a Roman reenactor myself makes it even funnier. Keep up the great work guys! ⚔️
Posting this right before the Ides of March is great
Ave Caesar Salad!
I can't wait to see you guys in Warsaw tomorrow! I'm bringing my mother who can't remember your name and calls you "FROG" and claims it technically has at least one letter from each word. Looking forward to the show! 🐸
😂 Your mom must be funny
FROG: Foil, "R"ms, and 'og. Your mom is a genius!
Ahaha, thanks, she definitely has her moments :)
When I saw the costumes the other day there was no way I could have guessed that this is what the video would be 😂
As a modern citizen of the Roman Empire (near the Gallia Region), i say "bravi!"
"Let's go to the Colosseum!!" I laughed so hard at that because i knew what was coming!
Absolutely brilliant outro - we need more like these with you lads messing - they are so funny and so sorely missed! Arms, Please, please say you'll do more? 🙏🙏🙏
Lastly, good luck on the rest of your European tour!
It is colossal. I won't correct your spelling mistake.
@@iamTheSnarkThanks! I guess I was typing very fast. I've made the update.
And if their visa had been declined, they could've just waited until the Roman Empire came to them 😂
Love a good historical sketch. Now I see why you were excited about the set. You've really outdone yourself and the costumes don't look too bad after the edit either.
Break a leg for your upcoming shows and have a wonderful time touring!
Funny thing is that Roman empire didn't invade Ireland (called Hibernia by them). Main reason being they didn't think it was worth it.
I’ll get the tiger…! Ultimate work colleague! Loving the life of Brian vibes here!
"I´ll get the tigers." Cracked. Me. Up. 😂😂😂
Hail Caesar Salad !!!!
HAIL YEAH!!!
Agreed! 😆
Hail to the Chief!👑
Ave, lads! I hope you're happily travelling in a different direction than the Collosseum right now. Warszawa is geographically much closer to where I am than the last gigs I went to 😅(That's Miri's southern German influence...)
Wow, those costumes are amazing. No for real this was the funniest children's school play I've ever seen.
Can I just for a second ignore the fact that it was hilarious and point out how wonderful the costumes and decorations look?😀
The miniskirts make them look sexier... And the Fiat 126😂😂😂
You made a Rome skit before Romania!! I'm so sad, Roman empire isn't even a thing anymore.
Why do you not love us, we make sarmale and cozonac, we guard the Danube delta, which is the anus of Europe, from russian submarines. We have vampire and zombies in our parliament, we have so much offer.
FAH might have more confidence to do it after they actually visit your country 😉 Also Arms needs to train the Romanian accent, too, I reckon 😇☝️
Silvio Berlusconi ahahahahah as an Italian I fully appreciated the joke 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The sacking of Rome pun was chef's kiss. 😂😂
Cave Idus Martias!!
As a Latin teacher, I appreciate you including one of my fav cultures in this series!
Love the ending, it felt very on brand for an actual Roman immigration process 😂😬

"All the sacking" was delightfully unexpected. I loved the building bridges too. And it goes without saying, the outro.
Do tigers like bread?? They certainly don't like plastic, so Hog's safe 😏
Not his big bread loafs though, poor lad 💔
They certainly like bread! There's even a type of bread named after tigers. How many animals can claim that?

Rome still exists, you know. There's a reason it's called "the eternal city".
Besides, phone booths are much better time machines.
This is perfect timing, since I am watching this while on holiday in Rome. Love your humour and I always look forward to your videos!! 👏🏽👏🏽
That Roman numeral joke is inspired. Brilliant sketch.
I turned my computer on to watch this just so that I could see Hog's plasticky costume in full-screen glory 😂
But why does Foil look like one of those famous busts of Julius Caesar?
Love the mixture of ancient and current lore, but especially liked the "we would have accepted polanski" line
If it wasn't obvious from what I talked with you yesterday, I had so much fun at yesterday's show! I'm going to miss seeing Hogwash so soo much! Can't wait for the filmed show to come out for everyone to see!!! ❤
Hog, if you are seeing this, as someone who started learning playing bass recently, I inspire to be as good and confident and spontaneous as you when I play my bass guitar! 😍😊
As a Milanisti, that Berlusconi part is wild 💀
I laughed at the thumbnail, instantly clicked, and roared throughout! Brilliant twist on one of your greatest sketch series 😂 looking forward to more!
This is one of your best immigration videos, I think, every joke landed perfectly 🎉
I liked the 3-5-1 joke the most
I also think this is onw of the best immigration sketches yet. I hope they do immigration to stone age sometime.
After three and before five, shiiii how can someone think of that joke, simply great
I didn't get it, can someone explain?
Arms, I’m not angry, I’m disappointed
**shakes head in Anne Flanagan**
BUT just think how amazing it will be down the track when you finally DO make it here 🤩
(“They’re going to be so cross!”)
I personally, am both 🤣
Can't help but think the background noise is to cover up the plastic creaking of Hog's high quality costume! 😂
This is brillant. Well done lads. Can we expect more historical sketches in the future or is it just a one time thing. Auf jeden Fall wünsche ich euch einen schönen Donnerstag!
I didn’t expect such a mix of complete nonsense, foolish me. The silly wordplay is Your Thing.

That would be to funny 😂

I don't even know where to start! The costumes, the acting, the very bloody idea! You guys have truly outdone yourself with this one. I am in stitches 😂
Fun video! As a history geek, I would like to see more of the guys trying to get into historical places.
