This exactly what i been looking for! I play modern worship, and i got recruited by a Black church, because they liked the way I played, but it’s completely a diff ball game playing gospel! Thank you!!!

Tis really helpful, very happy I found this! Do you also have tutorials for like talking guitar during preaching or prayers coz in my case I'm a worship leader and a guitarist, I just know basics of keys so I'm more fond of leading with guitar. I hope you alsp have tutorials for talkong guitar. Thanks. GOD BLESS U ALL.
I didnt get everything but I learned a few things to help me.... no one shows how to go through a major or minor chord scale without using bar chords but this was helpful to help me try to peace it together myself.... the problem is that there is more than one way to voice a chord and you can invert the chord and you can make substitutions etc.... but this video helped me what the dim 7 and 4 without using G on the bas and.... playing minor 6 and 5 without bar ing the root..... thank you. and another thing that Ive noticed is many of these chords have multiple names depending on what the root and position is....
Sounds great. Would love to have some more info on the 7 and 3 chords. I'm a little confused about how to build them and exactly where the notes are in the scales. When I put the notes in a chord finder, it came up with C#m7#5 & F#7 add(#5). I love the sound of the chords, but want to understand what I'm playing also. Thanks!
If you look around for some videos on ii-V-I progressions that should clear it up. In the first example, he's basically 'setting up' each of the original chords with a 'ii-V', so E - C#m - A - B becomes E - (D#m7b5-G#7) -C#m - (Bm7-E7) - A - B, with the bits in brackets being the ii-V of the chord that comes next. Try thinking of the chord progression as I - vi - IV - V, but with a 'ii-V' in C#m before the vi chord, and a 'ii-V' in A before the IV chord. To work out the ii and V chords in the first case, you have to think in the key of C# minor, rather than in E, and to get the second ii-V, you have to think in A major. Basically, any time you do a ii-V-I progression, you're briefly changing to a new key. It happens all over the place in gospel and in jazz - you can pretty much precede any chord with a ii-V and you'll get this kind of decoration.
I got a Sid bishops bebop introduction, it’s very simple and lead me thru a lot of passing and alternate chords, Sid also said listening to bebop will get it in your head .great video
Professional vs volunteer... ugh. "Simple chord progression" he says. Even the simple bit is complicated. Plays "the 1" @1:22 i.e. 7 different chords THEN goes to "the 6" at 1:29, does some stuff then plays "the 4" at 1:34.... you get my point. Even the plot lines have plot lines.
Bonjour je guitariste apprenant et j'aimerais mieux apprendre et me spécialisé dans le gospel. Pour se faire j'ai de votre expertise. Merci de bien vouloir me répondre.
This guitar player, is very accomplished, knows the chords and the fret board very well. However, for those of us who haven't acheived this level of understanding, this lesson is not much use. He talks of the chords numbers, like we are supposed to know what chords he's playing.
Its not really the 7, its a II V to the VI chord. C#m7 F#7#5 to Bm7. Then a II V to the IV chord. Am7 D to G. Make sense? Hes throwing in II V progressions to spice the changes up.
So due to the fact that you're making reference to 7 3 6 m5 1 4 chord progression I'm assuming one needs knowledge of the Nashville numbers system and can't just jump into this video with basic knowledge. Thus being said, perhaps it would be a great idea to mention this in the heading so no one goes as far as to dive right in. Other than that, nicely done ...
I like what you are trying to show but couldn't watch all of it due to the inability to play a chord without vibrato. I assume that is from nerves from being on camera. Just play the chords. Less is more with the trem arm.
Its basically throwing in a II V to the VI chord and the IV chord. Very cool, really nice playing
Yep secondary dominants are a good way to spice up any chord progression
Nice chops with added flavor

Thank you for this lesson
nice lesson
I wish you had tabs on this. So good
this sounds awesome
So beautiful, I wanted to literally cry🤧❤ God bless
Nice! Idk why I can’t make my strat sounds like that sparkly clean yet still full. I always end up sounding thin.
Maybe an overdrive to boost the mids and play softly to still get the clean tone. Compressor could help too
Or grab an EQ pedal
Its your amp

That's awesome. Thx bro.

What are all the skills I need to learn in music or what theory specifically to play like that?
avito lourenco Definitely Jazz and some R & B
Check out Kerry Marshall's stuff. Lots of pull offs and hammerons in this style.
Cage system and a bit of chord/harmony theory which you can learn from studying some jazz and RnB guitar
Prayer is the key let God play through you .
@@landofold where do I study jazz and r&b any recommendations?
👌🏿
when i saw this video, i literally remember Mateus Asato
wHAT AMP YOU USING?
This would be much more clear... If the numbers were visible on the screen as he played...

I like his instructions because he does not talk more than necessary .
Mount ararat?
Can we possible teach these for the ukulele community please?
Please I need someone who teach guitar in solfa
Get with a keyboard player they play the same chords and just transfer or transpose them to your instruments of choice.
Can we say mozee biters? Real guitar players know who I'm talking about
Jarius Mozee?

Learn the number system because then it will not matter what key you are in. I say this respectfully. God bless
Will this work ok if the other musicians are playing the basic chord pregressions?
Phillip Doshier Yes, however you would be the only passing chords in between the chord changes.
Worship leader slow for begginers
If you only have 150€ for an eguitar which one would you recommend? Genre RnB, jazz , Neo soul.
Thanks.
If you haven't found anything yet, Harley Benton, seriously, the best budget guitars ever, I don't know how they do it.
A bit confusing because in the key of D, 7 would be C#dim, but he played C#m7(b13). It would help if he explained why...
Yeah, he’s not in a position to be giving tutorials.
Its not really the 7, its a II V to the VI chord. C#m7 F#7#5 to Bm7. Then a II V to the IV chord. Am7 D to G. Make sense? Hes throwing in II V progressions to spice the changes up.
Ai the camera angle needs to stay tight on his hand I can read his hand from that bottom facing up angle
Can you make tabs
The tab would be better to understand, if your know familiar with the 12345
tl,dr: Channel your inner John Mayer
Key word CCM
What’s the proper name for the B minor chord he did
Bm9
I bet he is from a South state xP
Yep 😎
Would someone help out,
Is he playing using the number system
