Pretty much. I think Neumann secretly wants Homelander dead just as much as they do. But she doesn't want to risk placing all her bets on one team just yet. So she is playing both sides.
Yeah she doesn't want to say it out loud (plausible deniability plus you never know when Homelander's listening) but I reckon she was really hoping they'd be able to kill Homelander, and still might, given how close they got, twice. Homelander's too unstable to be a reliable ally, and he's already threatened Zoey just by walking into her house.
The contrast is an amazing scene. Homelander kills at the slightest provocation. Victoria literally gets shot point blank in the head and laughs it off.
She's only willing to let Hughie and Butcher live. Both of them matter to her and are not a real threat weirdly enough.

It feels like Neuman is doing whatever she can to avoid killing Hughie. Not just because of the leek, but because she genuinely loves him.
I think it’s a bit of both Hughie has a close relationship with both neuman and her daughter, and sparing him to also not risk her career
They’ve been building up the final showdown with Homelander for three seasons now, and there’s no indication that we’re getting it in season 4. The gang had the perfect opportunity to waste him in the last season finale, but everyone just lost their common sense and ganged up on Soldier Boy. Why couldn’t Butcher just grab Ryan while Soldier Boy kills Homelander? Why couldn’t Starlight and MM wait until Homelander was dead before knocking out Soldier Boy with nerve gas? Now we’ve gotta watch them do it all again for another season.
Yeah the ending of the last season was really quite shit. It just didnt make sense at all

Well, we get Neuman or Scion.
They heal ALWAYS.
Let’s talk video game logic.
You have 100 HP character. Their rate of regeneration is 1HP a second.
Bullet deals 20 damage.
So, the outcome of an impact would be dropping to 80 HP (visually injured), then healing back up (Kimiko).
Now, we have Neuman: Same 100 HP. Except her regeneration is 100 HP a second.
Outcome? Bullet will not visually affect her HP bar at all.
The only way to defeat hyper-regenerator is to inflict more damage than they can heal every second. Anything less and every and all damage you do is cancelled out under a millisecond (not perceivable by human eye).
This logic is not new to the Boys.
Marie in Gen V got BLASTED by Homelander’s laser and was just fine afterwards.
Laser, bullets etc…. They do not enough enough damage to matter.
Only real way for Neuman to die is if Homelander destroys ALL CELLS IN HER BODY at the same time. Essentially nuke her, akin to Omni-man fatality where he flies through a person at super-speed.
This is not inconsistency. It is 100% consistent with pseudo-science and previously established lore (Gen V).
Also, unlike super-durability, which cannot be disabled (Homelander cannot choose to be vulnerable)….
Neuman can toggle her regeneration factor at will.

For anyone that hasn't seen Gen V, there is a scene of her where she cuts her hand with a knife to show that she can control blood.
Because she's a supe she has Super Strength and it's also possible she had a special knife made in order to be able to cut herself.
Yeah super strength might do it, but I think it's just a regular knife. At least I'm pretty sure. It is Marie's knife, not Neuman's and I don't think Marie got a special one.

I really feel like Victoria may have a thing for Hughie deep down, of course it might not be romantic, but there is something there. She could take out Hughie or any of the Boys at any moment (despite the dirt that they have on her), but she doesn't. Heck, Victoria even noticed Hughie in the air vent during Episode 3, but did nothing. So, maybe she might have a thing for him.
The boys act as a safeguard for her; she can play both fields as long as they are around. Otherwise, she would have to deal with homelander and vought all by herself.
There are some genuine feelings there but ultimately I feel like selfish interest would win out with her

His lasers are just a good “fly-swatter” - very useful for destroying low-durability enemies, useless against higher durability ones.
Same with Neuman’s powers. The more durable the target is internally, the more difficult/unfeasible it is to pop them.

He cut off his own clone's arm effortlessly with them, meaning he could eradicate any supe with them. And that's despite having durability enough to eat tsar bombs in the comics.

Hughie was extraordinarily out of pocket here. Whether she was just trying to manipulate him or not, he didn’t need to act out and throw acid at her. She was trying to find a middle ground with him and to hold a truce, but he acted out of character and attacked. That’s a move I’d expect from Frenchie or Butcher, but not Hughie.

I really feel like they are gaslighting us into thinking she's super durable. At first I thought this scene was pretty cool but that was something weird about it, then I remembered:
1. In here they establish that Victoria Neumann's skin, muscles and bones are super durable. So durable that SULFURIC ACID and a PISTOL GUNSHOT at POINT BLANK can't pierce through her skin molecular bonds nor can the gunshot again, AT POINT BLANK give her internal bleeding or shatter her skull from the bullet's kinetic force.

2. On the Gen V tv show we're shown a scene where Neumann is talking to Marie, it's either in the finale or the episode before that. Neumann shows Marie that they have the same blood bending powers. HOW DOES SHE DO THAT?
She cuts her hand with a knife. Let me repeat myself. SHE CUTS HER HAND WITH A NORMAL ASS KNIFE!
If Sulfuric Acid can't destroy her skin cells nor can a bullet shot at point blank to her head do shit to her, the bullet even ricochets damn it. How is it that a KNIFE can cut through her skin? Even if she got super strengh she wouldn't be able to pull it off as the knife would break on her hands.

Sorta kinda. She can be cut with a knife but blunt force trauma and bullets don't seem to affect her. Makes sense cause sharpness and blunt force are extremely different.

I love how Neuman basically acts like this is a "no hard, no foul" situation and is just annoyed she has to change. She definitely still needs them alive for her future plans.

It started as a show about a revenge driven feud, to find the weak spots of mister invincible and his degenerate friends. Now the woke cancer ate the most interesting parts.

I like how chill all the interactions are in this show. Everyone's always trying to legit kill each other but they'll also be like "Okay I'll catch you guys next week," which I guess when you think about it isn't all that different from comic book stories. It's the funniest with Homelander, everything literally just depends on if he's in a good mood or not.

Space is VERY unforgiving. Temperature fluctuations between being left in -200 degrees enviroment from one side and +200 degrees burn from another. Cosmic radiation. Decompression (internal pressure would explode a person from within).
Also, since there is no atmospheric pressure in space, boiling temperature of fluids would be around 30 degrees… Temperature of blood is 36 degrees.
Human blood would instantly turn into gas within stranded human being. All arteries and veins would burst and human body would explode from within, literally.
If you send villains to real IRL space…. You would not have a story in 99% of cases.
Space is just THAT unforgiving.
That is akin to nuking every enemy ever and winning trivially. Would not make a fun story.

Not really they have dirt on her that would kill all her ambitions and when she loses her status Homelander can just kill her. In episode 3 though Hughes plot armor in the vents was stupid.

@@kingol4801 I'm referring to Hughie and Butcher. They both should have been blown up by her, but...she can't kill them because they can't die otherwise there's no show so it's almost like this scene probably shouldn't have happened at all.
@@SpikerMan No she needs them to keep Homelander off her and her daughters back. It has some issues with stale story that doesn't really progress but this is not that.
@@ArchieZeroOne This is just my opinion, so it's ok to disagree of course, but I'm not buying the "She needs them." or "They need them." thing anymore mostly because The Boys are gathering more and more info on them, so the longer they keep them alive, the worse it is for The Seven. After all the time that's passed, this is never going to end until something leaks, so they really are better off killing each other now and dealing with the consequences after. Vought's been pretty good at covering up things and twisting the truth, so even if things leaked about them...yeah...I just don't think it makes sense anymore. But that's just me.
I actually paused it to get a drink like like right after Billy shot her and thought that they did all that build up just to kill her off like that, I was laughing so hard.
