I understand and agree 100% with you on the concept that trials and tribulations in one's life is what causes spiritual maturity. I'm 26 years old now, and have had over 100 brain operations since the age of 2 for Hydrocephalus. I've had a stroke and have nearly died many times, but I know that had it not been for all of that, I wouldn't have the relationship with Christ as I do now, nor would I be the man I am today. I pray for his congregation that they find another church and find it quickly. The way they hooped and hollered over every little word Furtick uttered shows just how mentally and spiritually captured they are. Furtick is about his own glory, not the glory of God.
I really appreciate that you are doing a firm, clear and loving critique of the preaching not the person. Your primary concern is that it is a correct biblical interpretation of the text and done effectively. Everyday I see so many self appointed 'watch dogs' on UA-cam tearing down pastors. This is refreshing.
I once heard a pastor say “It’s possible for your talent to take you to a place where your character will not sustain you.” I think that describes the perilous place where he is positioned. Furtick is clever, and that’s the problem.
“It’s possible for your talent to take you to a place where your character will not sustain you.”.. Best observation I've heard yet on UA-cam.. and I know it to be true! Thanks for sharing!
And driven for numbers that bring fame and wealth. He might even be sincere in his drive to preach what he thinks is truth but he’s fooling himself and that’s easy to do when so many are telling you yes and amen.
Thank you so much, Mr. Nate Sala. I truly appreciate you. the Lord has used you in such a great and impactful way. I am blessed to have come across this channel. He has convicted me in so many ways through your content. The level of maturity you display in everything you do is encouraging and inspiring. The scriptures you use in your videos are highly relevant and cut deep into the heart. God bless you, sir. I will be praying for you and your ministry!
Yes I consider both legit. However I’m not sure if Voddie believes in the rapture. It looks like there’s a lot on UA-cam regarding Voddie and the rapture that you could research.
Washer, Voddie, Lawson, MacArthur are all legit. Most Reformed Pastors have not been sucked into Dispensationalism and hence are NOT Pre-Mil in their Eschatology. This is not an issue that should divide but I believe in a Hopeful Eschatology where we are the means whereby the Gospel is preached throughout the World. And no, there is no rapture. When Jesus returns to the earth we will rise in the air to meet Him and then return to the Earth for the final judgement

21:10 "There's nothing wrong with you" Voddie Baucham would like to have a word with you.
I watched Steve Furtick a few years ago when I was going through some things. Some of his feel-good sermons, pretty much help me, you know FEEL GOOD. 😁 I have since moved on thank God.
I think every church has a reason - a church like this, especially with their worship team can be a good introduction. Maybe when people are more spiritually mature they can move on to other messages that have a little more meat on the bone.
Your last point about this being a recipe for deconstruction resonated loudly. We need to be responsible with how we handle the word of God. Thank you Wise Disciple!
Subscribed to your Patreon! I asked my husband (who is not saved) if he would watch your channel with me and he really likes it. He was captivated. He also went to church with me. So - thank you for doing what you are doing. I appreciate this channel because you are helping us learn for ourselves as Christians through the word.
Stuck in a moment one started out good. Then he turned stuck into stick and I went……whaaaaat? It was pretty cringe. The very idea was cringe.😬 like a teacher trying to convince the kids that he’s a cool adult, not one of those squares.
It's cultist teaching for those with itching ears. The "follower" falls away quickly. God has taught me beyond the "bless me gospel". God is good. Read the Word. All of it, because we have trouble in life. Ultimately, we know He is God, because He never leaves anyone who truly seeks Him and His way. Love the reaction, Super Sala.
So happy I found this channel, and the way you talked about a false hope and trials. I am right in that place right now. Wow. so good, thanks for posting

Furtick is a gateway drug for abandoning the faith.
You have pulled back the curtain on the Wizard of Elevation! This was an infomercial for his upcoming series...which is probably based on his latest book.
Furtick can do what he does because it’s the same formula: motivating people. The guy is man centered. If preaching is easy, you are doing something wrong.
Furtick has famously admitted that Jakes is his mentor. That aside, this IS the way SF formulates his messages. He finds a catch phrase and builds an entire series around the phrase. What is most striking is that the people never seem to notice that one message is the same as the other. No matter what text is enlisted to lend credence to his message, it's the same word: you can improve your life by reorienting your thinking.
that's the same thing Moses said. He was a stutterer, and God provided Aaron to be his spokesman. let the Holy Spirit be your spokesman. watch Ray Comforts street sermons, it will help you get started
I'm really thankful for this. I recently came back to Christ and started listening to worship music. I fell in love with Elevation Worship songs. I subscribed to the church for the music. Last Sunday, I saw Furtick was live preaching when i got home from church, so i decided to watch. In less than 5 mins, I heard him speaking about Moses and he said "or Mosetta...i want to be inclusive to all genders and people" and my jaw completely dropped. I clicked off the live stream immediately. Now im struggling bc i am realizing how many wolves are really among the sheep. Now im questioning all those songs i love! Im having to be very cautious about any new pastors i listen to online. Im questioning if the church im attending is following the right path. Its a little overwhelming for a new Christian. Thankful for channels like this that explain things and call out the wolves. If anyone in the comments has advice on how to keep my family and myself in the right path and not get fooled by woke churches, pastors, and gospel music id greatly appreciate it!
If Furtick is a preaching genius, then I'm a supermodel worth $500,000,000,000.000 🤔😋 No backlash, please.... im sensitive 🤣 He said he was God almighty.... that says it all. 😮 he knows worldly songs and what to preach off the cuff. Rubbish. He's using a teleprompter and has practised. Deceit.. 101...😮
Just remember, when God parts the water of your current circumstances it’s possible he’ll lead you from there into a desert where an entire generation will die.
@@forreview6878supermodels? I’m not sure about that one. Are you trying to say that He thinks we are beautiful? I would still disagree. God says we are fallen, corrupted creations, worthy of death. He loves us so much that He’s willing to save us, but save us from what? Save us from ourselves. We are not beautiful, not yet.
I never heard this guy preach but when I was in a halfway house there was a lady there who was obsessed with him. Any time she shared about God or spirituality in groups or NA meetings, she would have to bring up Stephen Furtick by name. I found it creepy
Just to be clear here, this was a Sunday service that they held during their normal church meeting hours to promote his new book instead of preaching a sermon. This was not an event that was held that they recorded but an actual “sermon”
No. I’m pointing out that this was a Sunday sermon. Meaning instead of preaching God’s word they decided to preach Furtick’s word. I’m not only disagreeing with the message but additionally pointing out the blasphemy of doing this on a Sunday instead of preaching an actual sermon. Furtick is a great communicator, and having attended Elevation I am thankful for his evangelical heart. I personally came back to the faith because of Elevation. However, we need to pray for their church because I feel they’ve lost touch with God’s word.
I think the scariest part was when he said, "I hear the Lord saying..." How can we not assume that he said something similar in an 'actual sermon' keeping in mind that this is a game, and he is supposed to think on his feet. So even in this game he hears from the Lord. I don't know about that...
What’s scary about this is that he clearly knows the Bible extremely well! In fact, I don’t doubt he’s more familiar with it than most genuinely born again Christians. That knowledge either allows a man to handle the Word truly and powerfully or to twist it into a doctrinal pretzel. Satan too knows scripture inside and out and twists it to his own ends. Scary when a false teacher has the same knowledge and scripture-mangling skills as the devil.
With all of the theologians out there and Bible scholars, preparing heavily for messages, this just feels Taudrey, and like showing off. And I agree… There is a lot of danger in this. We need the truth and it doesn't need to flow out of popular culture. And needs to direct it.
A lot of modern media preachers forget the 'now, but not yet' aspect of the gospel. (Perhaps they are appeasing a particular market niche.) In this age, the world is in the hands of the wicked one and we are guaranteed in scripture to face trials, no matter the grace we also receive. Glory isn't until Jesus returns.
Thank you for this video. Many lesions to learn here, including was the truth of the scripture actually is rather than great sound bites that are actually inaccurate. A dangerous place to riff spiritual truths that don’t align with Gods word. Blessings!!!
Living in Charlotte and watching how much damage elevation has done/continues to do here is insanity and all of my fave UA-camrs talking about him and he’s down the street from me is so surreal
It seems like Pastors are starting to walk in their own kingdoms, listening to themselves deliver a service as it echoes throughout their hall of pride. I am scared for them and the people they slave. God bless the weak and just to the powerful. The days are short, and the pain is lasting. What am I to do as a Christian. My heart cries out for the lord. Is his spirit upon me? I feel sadness for strangers.
Thank you for exposing that stuff in such a loving and hey truthful way! May the LORD bless you for that! By the way, I watched a video you posted earlier on about a sermon from Voddie Baucham on homosexuality and you asked whether we would be one to encourage others to listen to him - oh YES I would! I find him to be one of very few preachers who cuts scripture rightly. But even then always counts: “but prove all things, hold fast the right;„ 1 Thessalonians 5:21 Greetings from Germany!
I went to seminary and received two degrees. One was in Psychology and the other in Pastoral Ministries. In my honest opinion you can’t have the study of God without studying humanity and the need for God. Ever since I graduated from seminary and lived my entire life in the home of a pastor and in a church even to today, what bothers me is how so many pastors deny the need for the OT and the stories of how God brought Israel back to Him when they went astray. You can’t have the NT without the OT. The NT references the OT constantly. Another thing that bothers me is how loose preachers have become with misrepresenting on the verge and doing open slandering of God and Yeshua as well as their relationship to us. It angers me on so many levels how people clap like trained seals over every word the minister says. All of these twisters of Scripture will be held to a higher standard when they stand before the judgement of God. 😢
As someone who used to think Furtick was just the best, I asked any who still look up to him as a Bible teacher, how is this behavior not just worship of a pastor’s intellect and speech? We must all check our hearts and go to the word, God Bless
When Furtick stays on script, he’s actually not the worst pastor out there. In fact, I find myself (at the very least) not completely disagreeing with him. His problem however is when he goes off script (which is far more often than not) and starts preaching off the cuff. He and many pastors like him have this weird misconception that high emotions and excitement is a necessary sign of the Holy Spirit working in them, but ironically fail to realize that it’s in those times of spontaneity and going off script that they end up fumbling the Word of God the most.
These types of preachers and practices exist because of itching ears in the last days. They have large crowds who feed on this kind of "preaching" because the crowd is in on it. The crowd wants to hear it. God gives leaders based on the people's heart.
Here's what came up with my thinking and that is that it is self edifying. Meaning look how good I can do this thing called preaching. I know my bible that well and good with words. Forgive me Lord if my comment seems judgemental.
I’d like to see what you think of Eagle Brook church services… you should look up some of their messages and let us know what you think… They are a Minnesota based mega church, I went there for a bit but stopped going because i felt like they needed more scripture and less motivational speaking.
Are you Jewish? If so why are you commenting on a channel with Christian content? BTW any representation or support of Israel a mainly atheist country is not what God calls Christians to do! Read it know it! Disobedience then & now results in God's wrath when will they learn? Jeremiah 7 says it all! Praying for all who misrepresent Christ to repent and those who are lost to follow Jesus! 🙏
There is little doubt in my mind that this was all worked out ahead of time. I have serious doubts that he is coming up with this crap off the top of his head. He's a performer. That's what performers do.
I like how he got started with each set, but not where he ended. 1) I love how he turned to the story of the Parting of the Red Sea, but the lifting up the Prophet's staff was a bit cliche' and cheezy sounding. Instead I would've turning to the word of God in prayer as Moses turned to God in prayer for those times when we have armies of troubles bearing down upon us and we have no where to go. As Paul says in Phil 4:19, "My God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus." 2) I didn't like how he started with Ahab, but when he got to David and Goliath, it got better. That's where I would've started, David and Goliath, and how David showed confidence through his faith in God that he can take down the giant he was facing, and how God will give us the strength we need in times when our problems are at our worst, and we shouldn't back down because we have Christ on our side. If God be for us, who can stand against us? 3) It sounded like he was mumbling here to me. I didn't get a word about what he was trying to say. I don't know the song that was referenced either. So .... *shrugs*
That whole scene smacks of idolatry. Give me that old time religion of truth where people had no concern about how clever a preacher was and people didn't act like they were at a rock concert. The term rock idol comes to mind.
I USED to follow Steven Furtick. I flew (in a plane) to North Carolina 2 times and attended Elevation Church. Thank God I now see he is a showman. It’s all about Steven Furtick and not at all the Gospel. He is on my “Do Not Follow” list.
Throughout this whole video, there is a crowd of crane seals , laughing and applauding, waiting for their handler to give them the fish for the trick they just did. With your excitement around the word of God is directed towards human being, and not the Lord you have become idolatrous. Because the thing that is to make you excited to bring you joy and bring you to a sense of fulfillment, God. This is what happens when people raise up for themselves teachers to preach what they want to hear
Ommmg I feel like this is reaching and very dramatic. I am leaving this comment after hearing the first commentary on stuck in the moment. First of all… Paul literally did this when he was spending the gospel. He actually went to a town that had not heard of Jesus and quoted a line from one of their poems/sayings saying it was actually true, and using it to plant them to the true and living God. He found what was relatable in their own culture and built a bridge to connect to Jesus… And concerning the stuck/stick comment… Dude that was bars! Any person with common sense no, it’s a metaphor. The reason that story is in the Bible is not just to educate us on the history of Moses, but to give us a lesson in our own lives to stop complaining comment down and, and wondering how God‘s going to keep his promise, and listen to the instruction of the Lord. Often the instruction of the Lord is to take what is in our own hand… A.k.a. use what he has already given us so that he can bless it. Moses, lifting the staff to the heavens, is symbolic of us offering what we have in our own hands, back to the Lord that he can do wonders that we never could. People think it’s literal might be missing a few brain cells. The reason it’s clever is because it’s a metaphor, and it’s a cool plan on words… Believe it or not God is actually fun and there’s literally nothing wrong with what he is doing here. Just like we appreciate the story of Jesus walking on water and helping Peter when he took his eyes off, Jesus, and focus more on the storm… it’s a true story that is also a message to us to trust the Lord during the storms of life, because Jesus can do the impossible and help us do the same only as we are holding him… It’s not an actual instruction for us to go walk on literal water just because someone preaches that sermon. I feel like you’re pretending not to get the point to make content, sir. 😒
TD Jakes in his church shows that he embraces all the beliefs of Jakes theology which is contrary to the christian faith. What happened to the JD Jakes exposing his alleged homosexuality and did Furtick address it ? This is the problem with super preachers and mega churches that people sometimes become cult followers .
God by his word shows us how small we really are. We need to see the sin that is in our lives, for the heart is desperately wicked who can know it only God. Steve he is only building himself up to look good. He just needs to preach the truth and sometimes the truth hurts. Thank you God for the redeeming grace through you Son
Many pastors just have a great personality and people just naturally like them. I guess that’s not a bad thing, but it sure does give cover to stir the emotions without giving the bread of the Word. Is your pastor dull and not all that exciting? Praise the Lord! Was he never the “popular guy” that’s great!
this is a good lesson for furtick and all of us to learn from. Playing a very dangerous game with the word of God and making a fool of ourselves. Furtick probably meant no harm by this exercise I think he let his wife talk him into this against his better judgment. Furtick and all of us can look back on this situation and learn from it. Just because he is a pastor doesn't mean that he can't make mistakes. What matters is that he learns and repents so God may bless him with better judgment and ways of leading his congregation in a more proactive way that glorifies God over him and his wife.
Well, this text is exhorting the Israelites to walk in obedience, through obedience God delivers them, to reveal Himself as the Redeemer and one who delivers even through trials, hardships and times of suffering. Verse 31 closes chapter 14 with this, “When Israel saw the great power that the Lord used against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and believed in him and in his servant Moses.” I suppose I could walk around with a giant stick and hold it out at whatever trial or issue I am facing, but at some point I may get Baker acted and sent for an evaluation.
“The idea that you can pull a topic out of thin air and then find a Bible verse to support that topic is just crazy…” No it’s topical preaching, which is a very effective method to reaching the lost and with enough preparation and consideration through prayer can be a very effective way to partner with the Lord to communicate the word of God with a body of believers… Jesus does this in Matthew 10:35 quoting Micah 7:6 from a topical perspective…
I’m a pastor in the audience… no… i wouldn’t preach Ex. 14 that way. We aren’t Moses. IF we are to assign roles (not a big fan) we are those who are of little faith wishing to be back in bondage.
David didn't say he would k1ll the giant through his own power, he said GOD would aid him ! He literally said "The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear shall deliver me from the hand of this Philistine" Furtick is always about what YOU can do and what you must do to "activate" God's favour. It is quite subtle twisting because he does say it is about what God will do in your life and people who do not read scripture and do not have a sound preacher, would almost definitely fall for it
How sad our world has become judge and jury! Pastor Furtick deserves respect. No one is ever perfect! He admits his weaknesses and I can see real humilty and love for God in his teachings. Please remember, God chooses, God corrects, and God blesses.... Not you.... your opinion doesn't matter at all! Dangerous to criticize people whom God has chosen. Who are you that you can even give an opinion. Its Gods business not anyone elses!!!!!
I think we should ALL be playing this game. Not to write sermons or even evangelize others, but as a way to practice our on-the-spot ability to reference the Word of God. It IS the Sword of the Spirit, is it not? I think that means we need to be able to wield it well enough that we can parry impromptu attacks from the enemy. Especially since the enemy himself knows the Bible. However, I think some important parts of this game are 1) it is done amongst other believers who are aware this is a game and not an actual sermon and 2) the other players are allowed to challenge your in-game 'sermon' to make sure it is scripturally sound.
I actually have recently started to feel physical discomfort when watching pastors or preachers spewing things that are inaccurate. Especially the very popular ones. The fact that thousands of people cheer for a man or woman who says random christian buzzwords is crazy to me. Not even mentioning that they state these random buzzwords in the first place with so much confidence.
Subbed! Sad thing about this game is this ... He probably designs messages much the same way ... topical messages are very subjective without context ... as a a pastor/minister since the early 80's (as a young man) and before some basic biblical training (eventually Bible College/Seminary) I used to "come up with a theme" and then build a sermon around it - the exact "wrong way" to build a message! In fact, I would come up with a "great title" for the message and THEN find scripture to align with my premise - the exact "wrong way" to build a message. It is very easy to find and use scripture to say whatever you want it to say without understanding or (worse yet) ignoring the context of the passage. SF is just a toy in the sandbox of baby Christians wanting teachers to scratch their itchy ears - "For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths." 2 Timothy 4:3. Someone needs to say it - SF does not need to be in the pulpit. " ... there's nothing wrong with you" statement by SF at the end, explains why I said this, as SF does not understand even a "basic" doctrine of scripture relative to the fallen state of mankind. A preacher/teacher stating that mankind is basically "good" has no concept of the truth of God's word. We are all sinful, in need of remedy for that sin (Jesus Christ and His sacrifice) because without it, we are lost and heading for hell. SF does not want to make people feel "the icky" so he gives them "the itchy" ( I'm gonna use that as a sermon! Haha) It makes perfect sense that SF claims TDJ is his mentor. CHRISTIANITY TRULY IS IN CRISIS.
IDK, I didn't perceive the stick message he said the same way you did. I saw it as even when we feel surrounded by darkness God has already given us the light, strength and way we just need faith in God through his son Jesus Christ
I wonder if this challenge would work with Christian songs. I know the bible comes first in the writing of sermons, but if you picked a Christian song and actually took some time to find verses along with that of which are biblical I think you would have a pretty decent message.
Forget about whether he knew the songs ahead of time...He's an intelligent person, musically talented, and probably does think quickly on his feet. The real issue aside from being out of context, TD Jakes, and everything else is that this sort of "stunt" brings attention and glory upon himself and not the Lord. God will not share His glory. Pray for Steven. Pray for your pastor. Pray--it's the best thing we can do.

Yep! Also the first time that happened to me as well haha
Yep. 🙄
Wait, now I kinda wanna see the the commercial…
I seen Jonathan roumie praying in the advert before the video
Thank you so much, Mr. Nate Sala. I truly appreciate you. the Lord has used you in such a great and impactful way. I am blessed to have come across this channel. He has convicted me in so many ways through your content. The level of maturity you display in everything you do is encouraging and inspiring. The scriptures you use in your videos are highly relevant and cut deep into the heart. God bless you, sir. I will be praying for you and your ministry!
Christians refer to each other as Bro's and Sis. so it should be "Bro. Nate Sala"
Steven Furtick's gift is finding new brilliant ways to give the same speech every week using a different Bible passage
Steven Fur-tick, TD Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Todd White, Creflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis all teach similar doctrine.
IE, a false doctrine
You got it man.
Yes I consider both legit. However I’m not sure if Voddie believes in the rapture. It looks like there’s a lot on UA-cam regarding Voddie and the rapture that you could research.
Haven’t heard of him.
21:10 "There's nothing wrong with you"
Voddie Baucham would like to have a word with you.
“Vipers in diapers” lol Paul Washer is even more of a doomer 😂 The truth is somewhere in between.
'What's wrong with you people ?!'

I watched Steve Furtick a few years ago when I was going through some things.
Some of his feel-good sermons, pretty much help me, you know FEEL GOOD. 😁
I have since moved on thank God.
If there were truly nothing wrong with us, what exactly was Jesus telling us to turn away from (repent)
what’s so funny is the ad that i got is a book by steven furtick in the middle of the video lol
So happy I found this channel, and the way you talked about a false hope and trials. I am right in that place right now. Wow. so good, thanks for posting
Furtick is a gateway drug for abandoning the faith.
Mic drop💯
Wow! Truth!!! Accept for me. I just moved on, away from Furtick. Thank you Jesus!!!
Once he released that book I could tell he’s like a motivational speaker for himself.
He might be somewhat quick on his feet, but I don’t buy the “he had no idea what the songs would be” bit.
You have pulled back the curtain on the Wizard of Elevation! This was an infomercial for his upcoming series...which is probably based on his latest book.
The word is living, active sharper than a two edged sword
Be able to cut between bone and marrow in the same way soul from spirit.
That is what is so mind blowing to me.
I am scared to tell people about certain things in the bible in case i am wrong and have duch reverance for the word
that's the same thing Moses said.
If Furtick is a preaching genius, then I'm a supermodel worth $500,000,000,000.000 🤔😋
No backlash, please.... im sensitive 🤣
He said he was God almighty.... that says it all.
Furtick may not be a preaching genius, but Jesus thinks you are a supermodel, made in His image and loves you very much :)
I believe the title here ended in a question mark for a reason.
Preach, sis.
Well, maybe not 'preach', but go hard in the paint. 😊
I never heard this guy preach but when I was in a halfway house there was a lady there who was obsessed with him. Any time she shared about God or spirituality in groups or NA meetings, she would have to bring up Stephen Furtick by name. I found it creepy
😂😂😂😂
Got a Steven Furtick ad. He said, you’re not stuck” 😂😂😂 I can’t even.
Scripture: Be still and know... Still small voice... Etc.
Pastors: YOU'RE NOT STUCK!!!!!!!!!
What an actor that Furtick is.
Just to be clear here, this was a Sunday service that they held during their normal church meeting hours to promote his new book instead of preaching a sermon. This was not an event that was held that they recorded but an actual “sermon”
So? Because it's not a church service be can make things up ..
I will never forget or get over that “I am God Almighty” statement Furtick made a while back.
It wouldn't look like showing off if people read their Bible like they're supposed to. Then they would know he was a fake.
A lot of modern media preachers forget the 'now, but not yet' aspect of the gospel. (Perhaps they are appeasing a particular market niche.)
In this age, the world is in the hands of the wicked one and we are guaranteed in scripture to face trials, no matter the grace we also receive.
Glory isn't until Jesus returns.
Thank you for this video. Many lesions to learn here, including was the truth of the scripture actually is rather than great sound bites that are actually inaccurate. A dangerous place to riff spiritual truths that don’t align with Gods word. Blessings!!!
If Paul Washer played this game his message would be called “Repent” no matter what song it was.

What’s crazy is a Steven Furtick ad literally played right before this video.
Yo same!
I love how I got a Steven do the new you advertisement while watching this video😂👌
huh!?
Thank you for exposing that stuff in such a loving and hey truthful way! May the LORD bless you for that!
By the way, I watched a video you posted earlier on about a sermon from Voddie Baucham on homosexuality and you asked whether we would be one to encourage others to listen to him - oh YES I would! I find him to be one of very few preachers who cuts scripture rightly. But even then always counts: “but prove all things, hold fast the right;„
1 Thessalonians 5:21
Greetings from Germany!
Can you do a video on Christians going astray to synchratism (forgive my spelling). Can you expand on this.
I’m a PAT member, keep rolling brother!!!
Definitely felt that "Ayayay!"😂
Jentezen Franklin is probably the worst megachurch preacher 🤔
That reminds me of the grownup version of the Swords in Hand game we used to play in Bible camp. But a sermon is much more serious…
He got there because of the double meaning of stick… or the thing you stick on. 😂

These types of preachers and practices exist because of itching ears in the last days. They have large crowds who feed on this kind of "preaching" because the crowd is in on it. The crowd wants to hear it. God gives leaders based on the people's heart.
I got an ad for his new book while watching this! 😂
Here's what came up with my thinking and that is that it is self edifying. Meaning look how good I can do this thing called preaching. I know my bible that well and good with words.
Forgive me Lord if my comment seems judgemental.
I feel like that’s most of social media these days. Look how good I can do “this.”
I’d like to see what you think of Eagle Brook church services… you should look up some of their messages and let us know what you think… They are a Minnesota based mega church, I went there for a bit but stopped going because i felt like they needed more scripture and less motivational speaking.
What the furtick?! Is going on here!!!
You pushed that comment to the brink.... 😂
I thought the same thing
I like how he got started with each set, but not where he ended.
1) I love how he turned to the story of the Parting of the Red Sea, but the lifting up the Prophet's staff was a bit cliche' and cheezy sounding. Instead I would've turning to the word of God in prayer as Moses turned to God in prayer for those times when we have armies of troubles bearing down upon us and we have no where to go. As Paul says in Phil 4:19, "My God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus."
2) I didn't like how he started with Ahab, but when he got to David and Goliath, it got better.
The term rock idol comes to mind.
go find the "sold their souls for rock and roll" documentaries. there are dark forces, and using these songs as sermon topics is wrong
He’s makes stuff up every week Right out of the Bible. this is normal for him. He does not preach the Word as he knows it does not sell
So ist this jay dyer vs trent horn debate still coming?
I USED to follow Steven Furtick. I flew (in a plane) to North Carolina 2 times and attended Elevation Church. Thank God I now see he is a showman. It’s all about Steven Furtick and not at all the Gospel. He is on my “Do Not Follow” list.
I’m so happy you saw the truth. I try to tell people but most don’t listen. I can only hope it plants a seed.
Now That's What I Call Itching Ears vol. I'm not sure at this point
All you judges! Judge not ! Or you'll be judged!
I’m learning that the meek shall really inherit the earth with the way things are going.
this is a good lesson for furtick and all of us to learn from.
Verse 31 closes chapter 14 with this, “When Israel saw the great power that the Lord used against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and believed in him and in his servant Moses.”
I suppose I could walk around with a giant stick and hold it out at whatever trial or issue I am facing, but at some point I may get Baker acted and sent for an evaluation.
“The idea that you can pull a topic out of thin air and then find a Bible verse to support that topic is just crazy…”
No it’s topical preaching, which is a very effective method to reaching the lost and with enough preparation and consideration through prayer can be a very effective way to partner with the Lord to communicate the word of God with a body of believers…
Jesus does this in Matthew 10:35 quoting Micah 7:6 from a topical perspective…
Furtick ad selling me "the new me" after clicking the vid 😂
I’m a pastor in the audience… no… i wouldn’t preach Ex. 14 that way. We aren’t Moses. IF we are to assign roles (not a big fan) we are those who are of little faith wishing to be back in bondage.
You could skip the batter. Score and fry the whites and get a better crispy crust without the wasted ingredients.
It's called tiger skin eggs.
😉
David didn't say he would k1ll the giant through his own power, he said GOD would aid him ! He literally said "The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear shall deliver me from the hand of this Philistine"
Furtick is always about what YOU can do and what you must do to "activate" God's favour. It is quite subtle twisting because he does say it is about what God will do in your life and people who do not read scripture and do not have a sound preacher, would almost definitely fall for it
Love the contrast that you put up between the error that Furtick and the Bible.

I think he knew what songs were selected!😮 maybe
There is no way he didn’t. There is less than a 0% chance that this wasn’t heavily rehearsed ahead of time.
Furtick should not be praised for genius or cleverness, he preaches another gospel. He should be roundly rejected and condemned until he repents.
You are so right.
Furtick is one of the most dangerous false teachers I’ve ever seen.
Fine.....I'll finally subscribe
IDK, I didn't perceive the stick message he said the same way you did. I saw it as even when we feel surrounded by darkness God has already given us the light, strength and way we just need faith in God through his son Jesus Christ
They have their reward
The Lord says in Isaiah .. i refine you in the furnace of affliction...
I wonder if this challenge would work with Christian songs. I know the bible comes first in the writing of sermons, but if you picked a Christian song and actually took some time to find verses along with that of which are biblical I think you would have a pretty decent message.
15:23 so good!
