I saw him back in 1977 in a 400 seat theater on highway 30(about 35 south east of chicago.( A pal of mine was the stage manager so In got in free and sat at a table right in front of the stage). Tom was doing the Blue Valintine tour. This changed my taste in music in a BIG way! Tom is the MAN!!!
I first got into Tom Waits pre-internet and it's been such an absolute joy to rediscover him again lately and find all the lyrics online etc. Plus find a whole bunch of great albums post Black Rider, which is pretty much where I stopped the first time round. Happy days!
Grew up on Tom. Ma had Closing Time- Heart of Saturday Night & Nighthawks. Truly an asset to the list of American Greats. When the musicians know & love you that is the true rewards. Saw him @ the Paramount Theater in Denver w/ my Ma around 2000
One I remember, as I might all on the cassette, buried in the drivers seat of a Toyota Carola fastback until 3 or 4am before I wanted to drive the next mile home without Haddon on my mind.
Tom Waits did 2 Movie Soundtracks: for Francis Coppola’s “One from the Heart” (1982) and for Jim Jarmusch’s “Night on Earth” (1992) - both Excellent!!!
I got one for him....there's a black cloud on my arm reminding me of what's never gonna happen again the triangle on my for head and the ring around eye my cold done nose my filtrim numb and my two front teeth just hanging. Fancy dinner with me haha
Who did these lyrics? LMAO. Shartruse?! It's even spelled right on his website. Also on his website the guy says "I know a good jailhouse out in west hollywood" not a good "hotel", but I've always thought he was saying hotel too. Whoever is doing the lyrics on these, bro, try harder.

My neighbors listen to good music, whether they want to or not! 😀❤️
No one tells a tale in song better than Tom Waits. No one.
Ni Bob Dylan?
Absolutely one of the best songs to slow dance to.
Now that you've said it, yes.
How is this not considered one of the greatest songs ever?
Tom Waits, the king of kings.

Unashamedly a weird guy. Tom Waits is my musical idol.
Such a tragic story, told so beautifully.
Only Tom Waits can do this so easily.
He's a bit dark isn't he?
His music can be, yes. He’s also not a bad stand up comedian. Watch his late night talk show interviews.
@annalisavajda252 , he's Bukowski and Kerouac- and dark. That's why we love him!🎉🎉🎶🎶🌟
Can’t. Get. Enough.
This man is a genius. Tell your friends.
Smokey bar blues just doesn’t get any better than this….
