GCN did this with road bikes, and without suspension they were more expensive on average than these Enduro bikes! Between £8999 and £15000! Top end MTB tech is crazy but still more affordable than road. If only proper entry level full sus bikes (new) were available for less than a grand.
@@adventuresona700dollarhard5 just buy a 5-10 year old roadbike. They're all nice, but if you're chasing the aero style you can pay for it. Until you can ride above 32kph all the aero frames/deep rims do nothing. A 10kg bike does the same speed as a 7kg bike
Really interesting content, it'd be cool if you did a round-up of purely racing-focused Enduro bikes including more budget stuff like the Privateer 161 and other brands which don't have racing teams
What a great episode!!! I would get a yeti In a heartbeat if I had the coin! I’d love to see an episode with the winningest drivetrains, wheel sets, suspension, etc.
I just got a great deal on a Rocky Mountain Altitude, Carbon 70 build (Fox 38 Elite, X2, full XT drivetrain and brakes) for like 40% off. In the nice black/dark red colorway too.
Can I just mention that I recently had top of the line BC Racing suspension put on my Subaru...for $1,500. Forks kill me in this industry I can't lie 🤔
BC Racing are pretty cheap and good value for the money, i have some on my JDM Subaru B4 RSK, i have Ohlins shocks on my Renault Megane RS they are pretty expensive but best FWD of the era. Drove an Alpine A110 and Citroen Xsara on BOS suspension it was pretty amazing too.
Any chance we can see a DH comparison video. Oldest and cheapest progressing up to newest and most expensive. This would help us decide on which one I could buy and try first. Progressing through better bikes as your riding improves is very expensive. 😮
I just wanna know why good saddles are so expensive! I bought a pair of good Ergon grips at an excellent price and I was like, ok, lets get a saddle as well (since my original Bontrager saddle is hard as a table, no kidding), but I thought it twice after seeing the prices...Man, MTB is expensive. 😢
Where on earth did the polygon pricing come from? You can buy the very same Colossus N9 for £3000. Add on another couple of grand for top line suspension etc and it's still probably the cheapest bike out of all the pro's.
Good show as always. Whats a good way of getting into downhill and or enduro racing in the UK?? A show on this would be good. What organisations run these types of races??
I've looked at canyons and they seem great, but then I read about awful experiences with the components and company. I then wonder how much of that is user error during assembly.
Does this bikes are really harder to make than a car? Or motorcycle? The prices looks insane in comparison with the tech which additionally have an engine and more complicated transmission.
Nope. Some bikes can be pretty advanced technology-wise, but they're nowhere near cars or even motorcycles. Unfortunately bikers nowadays are used to extremely high prices so a £15000 bike is no surprise for someone who's been into biking for a long time. And price depends on the company as well, you want a bike with "TREK" written on it? = Prepare to pay extra.
Even the most expensive bikes here are cheaper than a set of wheels for a McLaren or a Bugatti (if you are talking premium bikes then it's only fair to compare them to premium cars)
@@mgxc233 F1, Maclaren, Bugatti, what else, guys? - All this is made by hand or by using tools that cost like these bikes, which is the reason why you cannot order them online or buy one from "stock" because there is no "stock", which at the same time adds to their price. With all these outrageous pricing. I'm curious as to why Santa Cruz is not investing on a proper Enduro team? I mean their Megatower aint cheap either.
Main reason I assume is SRAM being a sponsor and wanted their teams to switch to new Transmission which does not fit into current Enduro frame - new upcoming yes. It will be interesting to see if guys will race Stumpy still next year when new Enduro is released.
One thing is for sure, the prices went crazy! Wtf a 10K E bike does so special ?! you can buy a car with the same money and I'm not a hater, I'm just realistic
they usually go for 100k but the only way to sell is through a black market dealer. Because of transportation fees and other things you’re unlikely to walk away with any more than 10k in profit and probably closer to 3-5k
Can someone tell Anna to pick a currency and stick with it, instead of one bike being in euros, next one pounds, next one dollars, makes no sense and is hard to keep track of.

Vitus Mythique VR is £999.99 on CRC right now.
Amen to that. The S-works Stumpjumper is around 9K, the S-Works Tarmac? Around 14K. I’m shopping for a nice road bike and it’s so discouraging.

The Polygon's prototype actually is already in sell. Polygon Collosus N series (similar name like iteration before Xquare Ones)
Pretty sure Polygon’s been running the production model for awhile now, which would almost certainly come in near the cheapest option.
Maybe on a frame set basis but when all said and done it wouldn’t be as cheap as sticker price.
I own a 2023 Strive CFR, Fox Factory 38 and shock. i just love it. i gave my son 2021 Strive, it was a great bike as well.
Wow, thats actually an awesome price for the cheapest bike, didn't realize that was world cup level. Aiming for a YT in the future.

Watching this makes me feel like a peasant with my bike, about a third the price of those Öhlins forks mentioned. 😁
Unless your racing and winning the cheapest will be a great bike all the same, only spend out if your winning and on the up. Bikes are so good now.
