You can actually feel which blade is serrated and which one is regular, the serrated one has some ribs near the hinge so with a tough of the finger you know it is oriented.
I love my Wave+. Appreciate this cool video, lots of interesting ideas. I’ve thought of changing the flathead screwdriver into an Awl, but I also really like the chisel you made. As for the tweezers, I’ve used the tip of the pliers as tweezers and they’re machined precisely enough to work.
@@nunyafuckinbizniz it’s been 3 years since I commented that, and I’ve since learned exactly what you just said. They are still great, useful pliers, but they no longer work too well as tweezers.
Thank you very much for the tip of the tweezers that I will adopt on my brand new Surge, there is this free space but under the scissors on the Surge and the space is huge, hello from France
They should definitely offer the chisel rather than a second screwdriver. Also, a mod with a firesteel in place of the screwdriver bits would be great.
Already tried a ferro rod attachment for the screw driver slot. does work for a couple reasons. cant fit a rod of a usable length inside because the pliers in the way. And doesnt work as an external attachment because the rod is too thin at the connection point, when you strike it, it snaps.
The second one isn't just a big screwdriver, its also supposed to function as a pry tool. It's surprising how many people seem to miss this when reviewing or talking about the tool. That being said, I like the chisel mod, good job.
Thanks for your comment mate. With the gouge I should have just sharpened one side and tried it out first before going ahead and sharpening the other side. I imagine it would have worked better that way, but I'll never know now. I can't recall if I have done so already, but I'm sure at some point I'll use this gouge in a video.
Some people have said about removing the lanyard loop and using that space for the tweezers. I'm not keen on taking things apart but if you're up to the challenge it's a possible option.
Whatever floats your boat. I've never tried getting a small splinter or thorn from a plant out of my hand with a bobby pin. Tweezers are just an option if people are interested and something I use.
What country are you in? I just did a Google search for "Leatherman squirt tweezers" and got several results for them for sale, including eBay. I'm based in Australia.
Great ideas! That tweezer mod doesnt sacrifice anything, so there is no reason not to do this. And those flat head screwdrivers are pointless when you got that bit connector, so i really like the idea of making at least one of them into a chisel. I dont think i have used a flat head screwdriver in many years, so im surprised they added so many of them...
Robs Bushcraft and Adventures I was looking at that last night after I left the comment above. I think I may try to snip the thinner part of the hidden lanyard loop and try to sneak it out of there. My tweezers come this weekend so I will let you know if I actually try it and if it works. Thanks mate! -Nick 😃👍
I have heard from a number of people that you can remove the lanyard loop and put the tweezers on that side. (If you are using the side I did to have the pocket clip on)
@@RobsBushcraftandAdventures wow, that’s exactly what I did! Two years ago I figured out how to remove that lanyard clip, added the pocket clip, added the tweezers, and never looked back.

@@cjlane4465 Thanks mate. If it works and you can let me know how you went about it I'll add it to the video description and credit you in there as well. 👍🏻
@@RobsBushcraftandAdventures since the squirt tweezers seem to have been discontinued, do you know if the style replacement are similar dimensions? I mean worst case scenario i waste $6 which is no biggie, just wondering if you know.
Yea but if u got the clip then can't put the tweezers in. Unless u want to ditch the clip..I'd rather the clip and use scissors to get the splinters out
I've heard from people who have done so that if you're not using the lanyard loop on the Leatherman you can remove this and then put the tweezers in on that side. I've tried taking small splinters out with the pointy nose pliers and the scissors without success and ended up having the carefully scrape (cut) away at my hand until I could squeeze and scrape the splinter out. So for me and the things I build in the outdoors I'm grateful to have the tweezers.
@@gort3969 Yeah a bit too brutal for my liking, when I can and do have a pair of tweezers in my Leatherman that I don't even know are there until I need them.

Yep. I always keep my leatherman in the pouch the same way around every time so I know without feeling where my blades are in the dark.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment mate. Glade you found the information useful. Hello from Australia mate.
Genius tweezer idea

Brave man sharpening that can opener. Mine is nearly impossible to pull out. I'd lose a finger if it were sharpened.
Great tip! I put the tweezers off a Gerber Dime in that same slot!
Nice 👍🏻 Did they fit snug and low profile in the same way as in the vid?
Yes sir they fit nicely!

great idea with turning the Flathead into a chisel, grabbed my diamond stone and put an edge on it already.

Just sitting here, petting my dog after a hike and found 2 ticks. Tweezers on the wave would have been great! Ordering them now
They definitly come in handy for ticks and pulling out small wood splinters. Glade you found the video of use 👍🏽

If Leatherman had half a brain they'd sell the Wave with these tweezers....SIGH
This is Genius 👍
Or at least market them as an extra for people who want to add them without having to search for how to do it.

Unfortunately, seems no one carries the tweezers any more - not even on the leatherman site.
