@CARTER JOHNSON Exactly!!! I repeat this thing many years now! It seems that, since the 90's, standard tuning is considered not appropriate for Metal anymore! Just look at how few are the bands that still use it. Iron Maiden is the most important of those, and one of my absolutely favorite bands since 85, but there is almost a rule, in modern times, that Metal bands have to be downtuned, to sound heavy! Really bullshit, in my opinion: in the 80's almost all played in standard ( with a few exceptions of course like Slayer, Savatage, Armored Saint, Candlemass, Crimson Glory... but surely not so dropped down like those who came after ) and yet there were so many that did sound heavy and powerful: Metallica, Anthrax, Testament, Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, Accept, Cirith Ungol, Dio, Iron Maiden, Sanctuary, Metal Church, Dark Angel... All these bands, and many others, made masterpieces with standard tuning, and who could say that they were not heavy?!? No, I really do not understand why Metal nowadays must almost always be tuned down so low... In my opinion it does not sound better, standard tuning sounded much clearer and better; a semitone flatter is still good too... But some bands really goes too far... Too down, I should say! Probably I am too old school (born 1970, listened to HM since 85 and played bass since 86), in fact I am not a great fan of too extreme bands. An old grumpy metalhead, who knows?!? Greetings from Italy!
This is for people that can already play and know more than the very simple basics in my opinion... a straight beginner couldnt jump into this I feel. But hey what do i know.. Yes this was great for me as well.

these top down perspective videos are actually really helpful! If this was a lesson though where you slowed down and showed finger placement (for us real beginners) that would make these kinds of videos better than literally every guitar lesson on youtube. Easily.
There is an error in the intro because the first 3 power chords are played on the 10 9 and 6 frets on the sixth string with the fifth string playing the 12 11 and 10 frets and then on the part that follows are the 12 frets and 11 those that are touched and so on until you pass to the main riff But all the cover is incredible :)
This is song is actually what got me into playing guitar. Got ahold of an acoustic on a big family diner, and decided to Google a "tab" to my favorite guitar part.... After 20 minutes or so of trying to figure out how to operate the damn thing, I finally was able to "play" first three power-chords with 10 seconds between them (and I was very lucky to choose the easiest intro in Janes' career). The song is still the benchmark of my progress, and oh boy, how sweet it is sometimes to find myself to be a tad bit closer to the original...

I'm so glad someone finally came up with and put out POV camera guitar lessons, not to take away from some of the guys on UA-cam that have lesson videos, but they all show camera views from front, close up on the fret board, but not POV, and everything seemed to take longer because I would have to slow the video speed down when there was a confusing part, or I couldn't tell how it was played. This is my favorite song to play, I've got it down all the way to the clean part, and the first solo after that, I noticed on the intro you were playing with alternate picking, is that how james and kirk play it? I've tried the 01 2, 01 3, 01 4, 01 3, 01 22 with alternate picking and it just didn't sound correct to me, also can you possibly do a video on Pantera Strength Beyond Strength? This is almost note for note perfect my dude. This is an amazing idea and you've pulled it off wonderfully. Thank You for this! It's great! Question to you and the masses, the ever so popular Metallica MOP Tab book is incredibly different. This sounds correct and accurate, true to the actual song. Is the tab in the book simply wrong or just an alternative way of playing the song? I would like to hear your opinion SG if you have any experience with this subject and or anyone else's opinion too. Thanks again, great channel - New Subscriber!!!
You're welcome! Theres always different ways to play things, and each way will sound different tonally - it just comes down to how comfortable a particular way to play is for you!
@@SightlineGuitar You're plaing the chorus wrong. During the "Come crawling..."-part you're playing C notes but it should be B notes. You're playing: "CCCCCCB" but it shoule be "BBBBCB". to me it makes more sense to show a pov view since everyone plays with this view
point of view view
Suggest me some easy songs for absolute beginners..😅
Can you guess 50 Metallica riffs in 5 minutes? Check out my latest video to see how you do! ua-cam.com/video/Pz6SCpTBY6s/v-deo.html
How do you get your tone?
This is FUCKING PERFECTION I WAS ON CONCERT IN PRAG LIKE 10DAYS AGO AND THIS IS FUCKING SAME YOUR WORK IS AMAZING
@@SightlineGuitar Thanks for the Reply!
@@SightlineGuitar You're plaing the chorus wrong. During the "Come crawling..."-part you're playing C notes but it should be B notes. You're playing: "CCCCCCB" but it shoule be "BBBBCB".
And if you really can't hear it (which you should) you can just watch James Hetfield in a live video and see for yourself.
@@roaringviking5693 Ah, no. It's nothing to do with what you "see", it's quite literally a C chord, not B. You can fucking HEAR it.
The tune is so perfect goddamn
the 14 people who disliked this are unable to pull the strings, twist minds, and smash dreams
Ahahaha best comment and thanks for the sub! :)
I disliked because he played second part wrong. He didn't use downpicking
@@Pantera_Fan I know its absolute blasphemy mate isn't it
Максим Михин so?
@@Pantera_Fan ok but that's kind of a petty reason to dislike a video, and this song is rly hard. if you can downpick it, props to you, but if you can't, stfu.
This is the best lesson of all time. Thank you. I have subscribed!
Cheers mate!
Wow love this tab and your play..
I truly recognize how damn it's tough to play..especially with full down picking...keep up with it...
Mate lol
Thanks for watching mate!
With Your POV playing, Uncle Ben's (Weekend Wankshop) help with the intro, and Carl Brown's GuitarLessons365 step by step instructions- I have mastered MOP as a newbie after 4 months. Still struggling with the 2nd solo's speed, but I have learned so much.☺️🎸 THANK YOU!
Dude that's so awesome I'm so glad to have helped! Congrats man :) 🤘
Why so many people play the opening riff wrong, just look at how James plays it live
SPOON because it’s easier to play
Also the alternate picking
@@jchd9286 music od not about shortcuts
SPOON how does he play it livd
@@elidaniel5939 all on the low E string. This tutorial is damn close but not 100% studio accurate but this is almost as close you'll get without actually learning it from James and Kirk.
this pov is GENIUS thank you so much
Thanks for watching you're welcome!
@@SightlineGuitar no problem!! :))
Incrível!!
