We've never had a problem, they are sandwiched tightly in between pieces of glass so that may be why it doesn't warp. We are careful not to get liquid in between the glass.

It looks great and saves a lot of effort with good results!
For straight edges, I always found it easier to secure the foil on the table and lay the glass edge on the foil.
That can work, but my experience has been that the foil may veer off and not pull straight, but if it works for you, thats excellent
David, any problems with the acetate becoming wavy or warping? Great idea, by the way.
