Really like all the narration and film between rides. Not a rail fan really, more so enjoy watching the trainhopping adventure/lifestyle. First video of yours I've seen, really enjoyed it!
I’ve always wanted to train hop, super inspiring that this showed up in my feed. You passed my house on your way out of salt lake, I’d recognize the Spanish Fork canyon windmills anywhere. Thanks for recording your adventures and sharing 🤙🏼
Great video! Never seen someone take a bike before, but it makes a lot of sense. Beyond the beautiful scenery, I enjoy seeing your gear, where you sleep, and the people you bump into. For me, those elements help to make it feel more real. ✌️
I have so many questions: how do you change your phone and camera? How do you determine the train or it's destination? How did you pack the bike (and conceal it when hopping)? How many other hoppers do you see and are you hopping the same train?
Awesome trip flick 🤘😎💙. I've kinda always wanted to hop trains but I've pissed around here and gotten to old to go tripping. Thank you for video documentation. I can now like see what I sort of missed out on. You're awesome 💪😎.

I've always wanted to hop a southbound from Spokane or Seattle. It's way-different now. When I originally got the idea, there were no electronics (even a scanner was hard to come by). Ha ha great video! I’ve ridden that route between Casper and Greybull dozens of times and that stretch between Casper and Shoshoni is no joke. Believe it or not I’ve slept all the way through that section before.. Greybull is my favorite town to visit. Everybody is super friendly and they know what you’re up to lol. They don’t care though, they always wish you safe travels. If you ever stop and need a hotel there, go to the Antler Motel. If you don’t want to rent a room you can just pay $10 and she’ll let you shower real quick! Did you stop and see Shoestrings tag? he has quite a few on the old feed building next to the yard. Wow catching out of Oakland is hard man. Especially WITH a fuckin bike and you got a box car! Thats gotta take some patience. Roseville is definitely easier. That ride up to reno is nice too! Safe travels man.
The retarders are retarding. I used to work out of Roseville as an engineer. Many riders used to ask me what that ding da ding ding da da ding ding sound was. They're basically little air pressured pistons that the wheels of the rail cars roll over and depress. The retarders adjust to higher or lower air pressure to slow the cars in certain tracks or let cars in other tracks roll down the hill faster. It's all based on how far down the rail the other cars sit. If they're really far away, it'll set low pressure and let them roll free or near free with no resistance. If the train they're building in a rail is nearly built and the cars aren't that far from them it will apply a lot more pressure so that those cars gently roll down and just kiss knuckles with the ones sitting in the rail.
