- We have had stacks of questions about how we got here and the processes that we had to go through, the visas, working, house sale…the job lot!
We used an amazing solicitors here in Spain called www.legalservicesinspain.com - Melanie and Monica were outstanding and highly recommend their service from start to finish!
So follow our year long vlog from start to finish

What a great watch, and a real eye opener into what you need to do!
It’ll all be worth it when you look back and realise what an amazing, positive, life changing decision you’ve all made. Many congratulations.
Wow 🤩 Thank you so much …And totally 💯 agree!
Apparently it was just a long holiday.
I admire the trouble that they went through, I didn’t realise you had to do that to stay in Ibiza for 3 months. We’ve never had to do that.
Enjoying their trip home to the UK. They’ve had a lovely long Summer/ Autumn break.
I loved that vlog the information you gave was amazing can't waite for you're nex one ibiza is oure favorite place I think it's amazing what youse have done 😀
Thank you Karen…We’re itching to get started tbh 🤣
Such a great vlog. So much information! My Dad is Spanish and even for him to deal with the Spanish embassy etc is hard 😩 looking forward to more Vlogs
Tell us about it 🤪 Looking forward to making more vlogs
Shame it didn’t last, the amount of work you did was mind blowing. We didn’t realise that you had to do all that to stay on Ibiza for a few months.
I'm going to Ibiza for the first time next year, I'm past clubbing until the sun comes up, where do you suggest would be good to visit on the island?

@@TheMarsdens thank you so much 💖
Delighted for you all mate. Best of luck for the future. Keep in touch 🤘🤘
Thanks so much…Won’t stop ✋ with keeping in touch!
Ive just got it !!!! who you remind me of !! ( you’re obviously younger ), the caretaker in the Royal ! He had a daughter called Lizzie and a mate called Alan. Mr Hopkirk !!
Why thank you 😊 Charming looking fellow 🤣
@@TheMarsdens like I said, you look definitely a lot younger than him ! the forms are a nightmare but after a while it all falls in to place.. i went through about 4 reams and so much ink !
Very brave moving with 2 teenagers! Hope it all goes well, love es cana!
Thank you 😊
Fascinating video of your journey. Got hundreds of questions for you, but they can wait until September over a cold glass or two!
Hundreds? Have to get a jug of sangria in then!
@@TheMarsdens That’s more like it!
Oh I meant to have asked, did they ask for any house deeds either UK property or Spanish when you had the consulate appointment? and if so, did you need them translated and apostillad? So many people are saying if you do this it really helps push your application through but if you have the funds surely thats enough! Also another quick one, my sister does not have the full IPREM but will be getting enough, ample in fact as she is renting out her property in the uk and will be living on the rental income from that. Will she need like a rental agreement? Im not sure if they will even accept it ? Like shouldn’t you have the money before you apply ? This is for a NLV by the way.. sorry for all the questions. I cannot find anything any of the suggested sites. We just went with the amount in the bank but apparently you can have it from different sources.. honestly I get how you feel.. !!!! I used to wake with cold chills and mumble stuff like EX-01 in my sleep 😂
PS My sister cannot rent her property out till she gets her visa is what I was wondering about.
It’s all better to have an amazing legal expert to guide you, as Spanish laws change EVERY WEEK!
Just depends the way the winds blow 🥴
I told her to borrow a nice lump sum then return it. By next year she will easily have the required 7 million euro ! IPREM.. thanks for sharing. I get what you feel like, I was 36 years in my old cornish farmhouse, despite wanting to move for years I did feel sad. At least i still own it. I hope you are all ok.. thanks again x
When my son and family moved to Europe 6 years ago, he was fortunate that the company that he worked for did a lot of the sorting out for them, but it was still a stressful time for them. They kept their house on in the UK and rent it out, so if ever they or one of the kids wants to live back here they have somewhere to live......plus it's extra income for them.
Thank you for your time to view our vlog
True, that’s the fortunate circumstances many don’t find themselves in with a great company
But look at it this way, a house/mortgage is the biggest weight and debt that any person can hold on their shoulders
When you’re free of that, you can breathe again
You only live once the saying goes, so we intend to spend our time together and wisely!
They only went for a long holiday as I asked why they were coming back, I asked what had gone wrong but Chris said nothing had gone wrong they were never staying there, just part of an adventure.
@@jeanetteswift1 ah ok.........they made it appear to viewers that they were moving there permanently
@@anniescolourfullife Yes, maybe they just had a change of mind, I’m glad it wasn’t just me who thought they had moved to Ibiza. Chris went to a lot of trouble with paperwork and meetings and finding a school for Ben on the island. But I’m glad they are having a nice adventure as things are so unsettled at the moment for people aren’t they?
I also miss Teaser bounding around happily around his house. Hopefully he’ll get his mojo back when they get back to the UK.
What a lot of work involved, I had no idea just how much had to be done. You must have really wanted to have a life style change. But I know that Kirstys mum and dad are in Ibiza and probably not ever wanting to return to England.
Parents are in mainland Spain 🇪🇸 And it’s called chasing your dreams and not regretting doing it!
@@TheMarsdens Good luck with your new life. Luckily for us we are living our dream here in the UK. Looking forward to your adventures over in Ibiza
It looks like you are all having a great time.
We looked at moving to Spain about 17 years ago when it was cheaper. Now you can’t buy a decent house in the Balearics for under 500k. It’s way over priced like most places at the moment. But renting is a good option but costly too. We are going to retire to beautiful Devon.
@@jeanetteswift1 ….Devon? The most expensive place in the UK?
Many happy memories holidays in Devon with parents, especially around all the seaside resorts
We have some friends that retired there too
Anyway you look at it, the world is an expensive place these days, just depends how you SPEND your TIME on earth
X
@@TheMarsdens Your are absolutely right. We spend quite a bit of time down in Devon, you can get more for your money there than in the Balearics.
We prefer the UK to Spain as we don’t like high temperatures for a long period of time. Devon is more comfortable for us.But we are going to Spain next year as Holly will be studying part of her Spanish degree in Galicia.
Cool vlog. Congratulations on your big move. And all the best for you and your family. I love ibiza just as much. And one day hope to do the same. But sadly I can’t run my business from over there.
Mad that Tiffany and Matt found you your place. I chat to them via insta. I run the Ibiza Through My Eyes account.
Keep up the vlogs. 👏🏽👏🏽
Cheers sir - It’s all fabulous, but in the words of Joni Mitchell ‘You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone!”
