    The softer the foam the quicker it gets flat. A shop clerk advised me to get gaviota instead of Bondi. According to him, they are not as soft as Bondi but they will last longer or something. Thank you for the review. But Bondi is second to none for those with heel spurs.

    The 7's were the best shoes ever. I was HIGHLY disappointed with the 8's. They look like bulbous clown shoes (seriously, not kidding), and the sole is hard as a rock! They went straight back. I have switched to Asics Nimbus 25 gel, for my new max cushioning shoes. I really wish Hoka hadn't messed up a great shoe, but thankfully Asics came out with one better than Hoka 7. They run a bit short, so sized up, but felt like I had springs under my feet. Speed enhanced just because of comfort.

    That slow clip was epic.
    I wasn't even looking at the shoes.
    Great looking legs!

    I loved the detailed review, I’m really getting into running now but unfortunately at the moment have shin splint and want to invest in a good pair of runners.

      You probably know already but the best thing I did for shin splints was shorten my stride and increase my cadence. Keeping my knee bent when my foot hits the ground.

    Great review! I had an acl tear a couple years back playing basketball, and at age 40 now, am starting to slow down (just mainly want casual comfort shoes for walking/standing). A friend recommended the Bondi 8’s and when I went to try them on they felt great, but they looked pretty clunky to me, specifically the width (they looked almost like clown shoes). That being said, do you think the Bondi 7s would solve that clown shoe concern for me?? Thanks for your time and hope to hear back.

      Thanks for the comment James. One of the most common things I hear about “Hoka” in general is that they appear to look like clown shoes. Personally, I don’t think they do…I think people just have a weird perception about it for whatever reason..nevertheless I think the Bondis in general are bigger shoes and as a result they might appear to be “clown shoes” but I don’t think they are. The comfortability out weighs the awkwardness

    I just tried them today and my feet were not fans. The Bondi 8 felt to tight, like they curved up and pushed against my feet. Back to Brooks for me.

      Kevin, let’s set the record straight.
      I have paid for ever pair of shoes that I review. Hoka has never given me 1 single thing.
      Regarding reading a script….nope.
      Every thing I said was from memory and ad lib. 🙏
      Thank you for insight and positivity.

    Would you recommend them for Hill Repeats and good for very hilly courses like Minnekahda(Chattanooga Chase) route? Of course only for workouts trainers not racing use at all. I have ran in Bondi shoes for many years and the shoes seem to work well for me at least the previous iterations of Bondi. I appreciate any feedback you can give me.🙂🏃🏻‍♂️👟

    • @JoelLong
      @JoelLong  2 роки тому +1

      Hey David! I suppose you could use them for workouts if you desired to. I do believe this version is better than the 7, and does provide more energy return. However, because of the weight of the shoe I believe that a small more responsive shoe would be better for the tempo workouts and hilly courses such as the Chatt Chase.

    How does the Bondi 8 compare to the Clifton 9?

    • @JoelLong
      @JoelLong  Рік тому +1

      The Bondi 8 is significantly heavier and more bulky than the Clifton 9. Not a bad shoe, but if I had to pick one it would be the Clifton 9.

    You said it's 33 heel 29 forefoot. But some websites stated it's 39, 35... which is right?

    • @JoelLong
      @JoelLong  Рік тому

      It’s definitely not 39/35, it has the same drop as the Bondi 7 which is 33/29 for men’s.
