If Jones smothers him, I don't believe it would be as fast as Jones submitting Ciryl, but he'd eventually get tired and Jones would submit him then. Ngannou is a different specimen genetically. Jones keeps saying it's not about bodybuilding but Ngannous physique and athleticism is all from training and literally moving earth with a shovel for hours on end.

Francis is genuinely a great human being. Dude cares for his colleagues and stood up for them, when most would never even have than thought process let alone do it. Francis is pure class

(You cannot make unionized, collectivist demands at a personal contract negotiation and expect to be taken seriously. If increasing fighter benefits was truly his goal, then he would have had to organize first w/ the other athletes.)
@@jamorains no he wanted many things like sponsors wearing, boxing w Tyson fury and insurance for medical care. If ufc would accept then it have been a first for ufc fighter and next champions contract and other fighter would have ask for the same. Even if he failed to get it, he stood up for himselft and rather lost his he's belt than bend over ufc for lot of cash. We can't never know how much he took that decision to help other fighters get same he was demanding but the fact that he tried he pretty honorable.
@@jamorains organizing with other fighters has been proven impossible his option was really to leave unless UFC made massive changes which they didn't. He can make more money elsewhere so he did. This is a normal business decision for most people but for some reason UFC fans take this shit super personally.

I think you'll be able to see it. Even if Francis takes a year and a half away from the UFC Jones will continue to trash talk and taunt Francis which is good because it keeps the interest in the fight going. In the end, Francis and Jones fighting is THE money fight to make, with no disrespect to the man himself Stipe.

Also, Cyril in the Francis fight fought way better than in the Jones fight, it looked like he wasn't even trying to get out from the bad position Jones had him in. Francis to me seems like a much better fighter NOW than Stipe. Also, concluding this, I would like to state that whether Cyril was off or not, Jones put on a spectacular performance coming off a 3 year break & a controversial last fight win. Truly a great fighter!!

The difference between Francis and Jones. When Jones refused to fight Francis back then. Francis was on Jones side and supported that they needed more pay.

They both wanted big fight money and I don’t blame them. After Francis beat Stipe, Jon was the one peeved at Dana and the UFC. And he went on to say it wasn’t right that Deontae Wilder was making big money for a big fight and he would just give up his belt and not fight.
Then once the UFC loses Ngannou, they were obligated to go back to Jones to give him a new contract. They knew their HW division was in shambles as Francis beat their #1, #2 and #4 contender. Anyone of them winning the belt takes away from legitimacy. Jones beating Gane in the way he did was the best thing to ever happen to the UFC’s HW division.
