Thanks for your hands on review and spending time to dive into the latest AZOTH we spent a considerable amount of time and effort on the design and development of this keyboard. We look forward to continuing to design, develop and offer exciting premium, performant gaming grade peripherals. As noted in our guide online users can easily tune sound and feel not only via toggle switch but by removing one layer of internal foam providing users more "bounce" if this is what you prefer. On a side not the cost of the keyboard was not heavily influenced by the display, our perspective was to further add additional value as it was a small cost to offer touch. The more important focus for us was resolution which is notably better than other implementations alongside being color, compared to our prior gasket mount Azoth which also had a standard ( non touch ) black OLED display. The majority of the cost is in the high end multi step machining and finishing which is evident in the body as well as binned lubricated switches and a carbon fiber plate compared to much lower cost plate. For those not aware the bottom chassis is manufactured via 12 steps, including sandblasting, anodizing, and CNC machining. In addition items like the metal weighted silicone wrist rest which is much more durable and premium and easy to clean as well as machined conical feet. We already offer a lower cost Azoth but with this being the EXTREME our intent was to offer a comprehensive upgrade compared to our already performant, well built and good sounding keyboard. For those of you looking for a great option that is at a lower price point check out our ROG AZOTH or if you want analog check out the ROG FALCHION ACE HFX. For AC, all other functions are working normally but we will reach out to confirm if you had other issues rest assure we will ensure the newly implemented tap functionality works with an update and will also be releasing a new milestone V6 release in late this year or early next year. With this noted users have comprehensive hardware level controls via media keys and FN+ X keys on the keyboard and can also leverage ACG for a purely only peripheral based utility. For those checking out the comment this keyboard also supports our ROG OMNI receiver meaning it can pair with our mice like KERIS II ACE, HARPE ACE, HARPE ACE Extreme, Harper ACE Mini with a single adapter while maintaining low latency and polling rate stability. Our wireless tech is also outstanding and in our testing superior latency and polling rate stability compared to Razer. For those wondering the 2.4GHz operates at sub 1ms latency. One last point with customs you often have no return policy or have group buys with lengthy delays in shipping. We offer a market available option but it a high standard that easy to purchase and also equally easy to return should you note like it. We feel this is a compelling point in a premium product like the ROG AZOTH EXTREME. If anyone has thoughts on what you would like to see in the next AZOTH let us know.
If you are gonna be spending that much on a keyboard, you should just get a premium keyboard kit from someone like Mode and build it yourself. Can customize it exactly how you want it and will probably sound better.
I modded my Azoth Extreme, happy with it and love the oled screen. I don't see why a premium custom would sound better. That thing sounds great out of the box already .
@ sound is admittedly subjective and everyone prefers specific sound signatures (see clack vs thock debates). Azoth Extreme definitely sounds better than almost every other gaming brand keyboard but to me it’s not anything impressive. If you want some good examples Hipyo Tech has a video called Thock vs Clack which has a plethora of great sounding keyboards for less than half the price of the Azoth Extreme. I just don’t think the $500 price tag is worth it when you can find comparable and potentially even better boards for less than $250
The hype is dead because COVID people are money are gone. People wanting that era of pricing for their gmk sets are sitting on them for months. You can get a lot of gmk sets for $50-100 now with relative ease. Which is still expensive, but good AliExpress clones are $30-40ish so the jump isn't as big as it once was. RIP people sitting on darling at $400-500 trying to scalp. That set just got reran for $110.
@@samuelstewart7339 I agree that they are significant down from their absurd peak, but they're not $50 for a new, limited run set. Base set for a limited run is usually $80 if using standard two colors, and goes up quickly if you start adding more than two colors, and move away from their standard colors. A relative colorful kit usually starts around $120, and if you any add-ons at all, you're up to $150-180 + shipping.
Great video man👍🏽 I got the Azoth (non extreme) on prime day for $180 and it’s completely replaced my wooting. Sounds great, better typing experience and doubles well with a seamless work/gaming setup since it has the Bluetooth option.
I main the regular azoth. 2000 hr battery life charge it once a year. Gasket is ok but with steel plate there’s no bounce. Exposed keycaps and plastic bottom are a turnoff. They should both release a wireless version with no RGB or OLED, for $149
I have the regular azoth, 250$ + mods + akko switches. All I will tell you is, the wireless mode on the azoth is revolutionary. No difference to wired mode in gaming. No latency, fortnite and Warzone. 2 months+ on 1 charge - gaming, lots of typing 25% RGB brightness, OLED off. This kb is worth it for the wifi mode alone folks.
If the Azoth Extreme had HE switches, it would be worth considering. But it's hard to justify as a "gaming" keyboard without that. On the flip side, it's hard to justify it as a "luxury" keyboard without nicer/more restrained caps and overall aesthetic. The Azoth Extreme is pretty much for ROG fans with deep pockets and nobody else.
Hall effect switches have had generally poor reception regarding typing feel free to see users feedback on Wooting switches and their scratchiness and overall typing experience. In the last few months this has finally been resolved due to a new wave of switches coming to market and notably improving on this. This was further complicated by the poor real world user typing experience where you need to toggle from game activation to normal typing actuation. We resolve this on our HFX keyboard with a dedicated toggle switch making it very easy but prior to this it was tedious and not great for those looking to daily drive an analog keyboard. The AZOTH was designed as a premium gaming and general use keyboard on a overall Venn diagram the goal would be very good in multiple categories not printing "purely game" where for HFX the only benefit over the switch implementation in the AZOTH is actuation not latency, acoustics, feel or even input latency. If this is what matters to you then we have the FALCHION ACE HFX but the majority of users prefer superior feel and acoustics while also still having a high priority on gaming including 8K polling which has benefit for ultra high refresh rate displays Sub 1ms latency for 2.4GHz Binned switches for gram force deviation Lubrication for smooth alongside with optimized switch housing and internal design for consistent and good feeling actuation ( which has also been tuned for great debounce delay ) These items alongside the activation tuning and performance of the switch is already high grade for gaming. Consider the overall input latency is not superior on a analog switch it is purely that it can be customized and for many they prefer to not have go back and forth in customizing their switch they just want a out of the box great experience. We also we developing the AZOTH EXTREME before the development and big push of HFX and also felt for the ultra focus of a gaming that 65% was a superior option so push for the implementation on the Falchion series ( we also notably kept the price point much lower ) while still offering best in class feel and acoustics. It also is the first Gasket Mount HFX keyboard offering notably superior sound and feel to Razer, Wooting, Steel Series and others. As to design there are many ultra premium keyboards that are same or even high cost that have highly stylized aesthetics that will not align with the aesthetic preference of all users, as is the nature with a more premium niche offering it can be at times devisee but we do feel we have balanced the design to a degree to not make it as overtly styled as some other keyboards. We are also looking at new tooling for a future generation of keycaps but this is something that can easily be resolved and change just like any keyboard should you not like the "look" of the font.
What's with that dumbass design of switches/caps floating above the the edge of the case? We moved on from that like 7 years ago with the budget gmmk keyboards. How are these companies still struggling with a height mismatch in 2024 😂
Just out of curiosity because I’m planning to get a new keyboard. If I play mostly MMORPGs and Looter Shooter games do I really need the HE or will these do? Does HE really give that much advantage? I’m not really yet familiar with the HE and I kinda wanna know if I should get custom instead of the Azoth Extreme
@@Chemicgen1 short answer, you don't need HE. HE stands for hall effect. We are basically talking about one tech with 2 features. The tech is magnetic switches. A magnet is in each switch and communicates more precisely with the board about the distance the key travels. The 2 features are key travel and/or key press. Rapid trigger/socd is one, the other is snap tap as called by razer and usually used for fps shooters on A and D key. What you want is the rapid trigger part. Snap tap is banned in some games. Also, you can use snap tap on any kb via a simple no gap script. Anyway... Your focus should be on rapid trigger more, the key travel part. As you know, it allows you to react faster in game. Its an advantage, but trust me, it won't make you a superior player This is not necessary, but a good feature to have. I'm a good fps shooter player and I have no need for it. And don't buy any Asus kb. Not just azoth but others have double press issue for years. I should know. I have the regular azoth. And it's not the software, nor the switches. It's the pcb.
What keyboard won the sound test? Lemme know.

According to the Razer website their keycaps are double-shot PBT and not ABS.
Yes, they’re double-shot PBT
7:25 ABS will always wear down. This is why so many people are so critical of GMK keycaps costing $200+ (for some colorways).

Azoth looks much better than most of these custom boxes.

gmmk sucks
none of them are HE keyboard so don´t buy them
Thats bs. The only reason to not buy them is the price.
HE HE HE man shut up, this is gimmick anyways…
People hear other people talking BS, they have no clue and just repeat what they heard. HaLl EfFeCt is just a gimmicky BS, not more, not less.

Got it bro
These been out for a while, thought i clicked on an old video.
Both of them are still years behind compared to many custom boards
lol no. But maybe you can explain why?
got my nuphy 60air HE for 120€ (after tax and shipping) in a couple days... why do these exist again? why 2.5x - 4x the price? do not buy these
Goat has returned
Synapse winning in anything... oh, God!

next nerd that has no clue just talking because he heard something from someone.. HalL EfFeCt completely gimmick

@@RathOX optical destroys HE
@ thats incorrect. optical has latency issues.
Any keyboard without HE is obselete for gaming in 2025
$500. Hahahahahahaha just buy a geon board and slap a venom hall effect pcb in it for that price.
ok, good for you.
