There is no 2019 version in office 365. Nevertheless, Merge shape options will be enabled only when you select atleast 2 or more shapes. Try it that way and let me know.

It's not because of laptop, its because of Microsoft office version...Merge shape options are available in office 2016 and up versions... Which version do you use...?
Its not dependent on your laptop, it depends on your office version.. Fragment option is available only in office 2013 and later versions..I advise you to please upgrade your office version.

I understand, but you need fragment shapes feature in your office version. To run office 2016, please try to uninstall 2010 first and also make sure you install same office 2016 bit version (32 or 64 bit) as that of your computer.
Merge shape actions can be used on Images as well.... :)

Follow the same steps..Select a shape and a picture,and then use any of the shape actions..They work in same way.

Oh is it, yes office 2010 doesn't allow that while 2016 and later versions supports it..Sorry, i am not aware of any other way to convert it.

It's office 365 latest version..It's same as office 2021 as of now .
