This cover hits different.
The lyrics fit perfectly. I don't know why other fandubs try to translate it themselves. This is just better and it has stood the test of time.
I guess they want to try their own interpretation and do something different but most of the time they end up just awkwardly paraphrasing the direct japanese to english translation so... why even bother then? It sounds so awkward!

For having to follow up Tommy, this is ESPECIALLY amazing. It's great, but whatever name she goes by, she's a pop master. I'm glad you didn't try and emulate her and made it your own. She's really distinctive, and your own voice is very good. I've been raised with music my entire life and mad respect.

it was just a preference, I like low-keys better usually, but the higher voice was engraved in my mind from watching the show so much that it felt off. And i'm sure you're great too ^u^ I'm a guy so I can't do high pitch's to save my life.
The00Devils00Seraph I don't think it's dumb. I think you rightfully respect one of the better female singers in Japan. She's not an ordinary musician to have doing an opening. If she attempted to mimic Tommy February, she'd be a mess. The lyrics, as well, sometimes need to be changed to maintain the right feel. This IS in English, after all. I despise dubs because I understand enough Japanese to tell it's wrong. This is just nice to listen to. As a song, it's solid. It's Paper Moon if it wasn't sang by Tommy February, or whatever alias she is going by now. She is an impossible act to follow on all accounts.
***** well it is really hard to perfectly translate Japanese to English you would have to do it multiple times to get it perfect but being imperfect is human right? So if you are perfect your not human everyone has there own imperfections :P

The only way I see it happening now is if they pull a Fullmetal Alchemist and reboot the series to follow the manga stupidly closely. But then it'd become even more older audience focused than now, if that's even possible.
