In this video, we kick off a project we've been looking forward to a LONG time...a 2006 Mercedes CLS55 AMG. This rare (1 year only) beast has a Supercharged 5.4 liter V8 that makes some serious power and torque. We are going to make it look the part, and unleash about 100WHP more putting the power over 550HP! The exhaust was just step 1. Stay tuned for more!

Interesting that you did this rather than the secondary cat delete and X-pipe mod that seems to be the most popular option. Was it because of strict California emissions regulations?
Do a detail and get the headlights defogged and it should look pretty nice
After owning plenty of the m113k the best setup for the exhaust is primary / secondary cat delete (or headers), resonator delete, and replace the mufflers with c63 mufflers.

Jesse has mad skills just eyeball the Y pipe and it is perfect, the sound of that car now is sweet it sounds closer to the growel of the AMG-GT.

to make the pipes fit together alot better and reduce chance of eaust leaks it would be to use 2&1%8 inch pipe
Man the w219 is becoming affordable to buy best bang for your buck and make beast hp just by pulley and tune good stuff i think cls 55 u can make more power and its cheaper compared to the cls 63 ,the good about the 63 is the transmission is really good on those. But 63 is more expensive to maintain im sure.
So much for this mod now due to the new CA State Exhaust Law

About to do the same on my CLS500, so many people people have said to do a resonator delete & keep the stock mufflers but my exhaust guy said to go the route you've gone as well. So a muffler delete it is.

I wish someone made a valved exhaust for these cars. Unfortunately, the market is pretty small... I have RENNtech headers + Meisterschaft exhaust and I got some drone. I'd buy a professionally made valved exhaust for CLS55...

Hang on. Yes, maybe the sound has improved (although a better mic would help). But the way the car drives would not be improved. The power gain and feel would be negligible at best. Given that the steering rattles at 70 and there's no traction under high accel, a less restrictive exhaust probably doesn't do much for feel. Just sound.
