    The reason she got $3 million in punitive damages is because McDonalds knew that their coffee was served hot enough to cause severe burns. They had settled several similar claims for small change, but they didn't lower the temperature because it translated into more sales due to the powerful aroma released. They calculated that it was worth burning some people to keep their profits. Similar to the cost analysis that Ford conducted when they knew the Pinto would explode and kill people when hit from behind. Also, the woman was elderly and the burn was pretty serious down her inner thighs. $3 million to McDonalds is like $100 to you and me.

      Bikes and Beards Twisted Chains can reduce the Breaking Strain of Individual Links because it can Cross Load Links in a manner they were not designed for. Their Maximum Strength is End to End on a Flat Plain. Besides it Looks Better and More Professional. Safe Working Load On Any Chain should not exceed One Ninth of the Breaking Strain Rating for that Chain.

    This might help you get an extra bike on the trailer ,, get some light 4 inch channel ,, weld 1 piece on the pipe bar at the front of your trailer making a ramp,,weld another piece extending over the drawbar for the front wheel ,, But dont go to far forward or your van will hit the wheels when you turn a corner,,,you may get enough space to get an extra bike ,,

    I’ve flipped 4 Harley’s last year and made from $2000 to $3000 each. The trick is to find an owner that needs to sell today. Divorce and new baby sales are the best. Also find bikes with lots of extras. Harley add ons sell for prime dollar. I’ve sometimes stripped $500 of aftermarket parts off one bike.. and always have cash. Cash talks and cash buys fast.

Show us some sales you guys make good or bad etc.

    If you haven't, you should check out ShockStraps. Since getting them, I couldn't be happier. But it looks like you may have a business relationship with Tank Straps so you probably won't check them out if that's the case. I get a kick out of seeing the bikes on the Tank Strap website (from your link) that show most bikes only strapped on the front forks. That's insane! The rear of the bikes could easily swing out on a turn. The front and back should definitely be strapped. In fact, on my monstrous Triumph Rocket III Touring (2300 CCs), I use five straps on each side from front to back and the front wheel in a very heavy chock. Four or the straps are Shock Straps. I wouldn't even think of trying to use just two straps on the forks. BTW, for anyone who doesn't know, ShockStraps have flexible links that keep the straps tight no matter what. And those links are backed by the strap itself so, in the extremely unlikely event that the flexible link broke, the strap itself takes over. Great design! Also, endless loop is nothing new. All of my straps are endless loop and their not Tank Straps. I don't mean to knock Tank Straps but I don't see anything special or unusual about them at all. ShockStraps, on the other hand, really are an ingenious design.
    BTW, I have absolutely no connection to ShockStraps. I'm just a very happy customer. I do have one complaint, though that anyone thinking of buying ShockStraps should know. You are supposed to crank them down so the flexible link is stretched so you can just slide your hand between the link and the strap. But, if you do that and the attachment position is above the suspension, it will put so much pressure on the suspension that it will almost completely collapse it - even with my huge Rocket III Touring. So I just don't crank them down that much. But I've almost been tempted to shave a little of the rubber-like flexible link to reduce their tension. There's plenty of videos about ShockStraps on UA-cam.

    • @BikesandBeards
      @BikesandBeards  5 років тому

      Well exactly if you were using tank straps all you would need is 2. When we transport our large bikes including rocket 3’s that’s all we use. The back is heavy enough that it will not move on a turn we have transported hundreds of bikes thousands of miles only using 2 straps. Now on smaller lighter bikes we will use a strap on the back. Or if there is nothing in front of the bike stopping it from going forward. Let’s recap Tank straps all you need is 2. Shock straps you need 10. And yes Tank Strap is my company. But I don’t love them because they are mine. I had them made to fill a void in the market. Thanks for watching the video

    The coffee that woman spilled was also extremely over regulated temp that McDonald's was supposed to have it at and had MULTIPLE complaints yet did nothing. When she was burned she asked that McDonald's ONLY pay for medical bill but when they refused and pretty much laughed in her face an attorney took over and sued McDonald's for even more

      Yeah people forget that poor woman had 3rd degree burns on a large part of her body from that spill. The reason it is looked at like a joke is that McDonalds did a massive PR campaign to discredit her story. The people who run and ran McDonalds were all terrible people - Ray Kroc especially.

    • @7thsignthenorthcoast146
      @7thsignthenorthcoast146 5 років тому

      Chris Hart that’s the question how do you rotate stock then? If I want more stock in my dealership how do you get it for cheap from another dealer and yes they make money even if it’s 500 they still make money . And Sean said they but about a half mill from the one dealership . So tell me our of a half mil they aren’t making any money .

    • @gagehowell3566
      @gagehowell3566 5 років тому +1

      No they're making money. I mean have you ever traded a bike in and had them give you the full value for it. They may initially pay full price but buying in bulk and with how many transactions they imply they've had they're getting it cheaper I'm sure. But even half price the dealership is probably making money.
      As for safer be careful with that thought process, you kind find snakes on craigslist and at a dealership. Remember, the dealership bought these bikes from someone else, so they could very well have problems that they don't know or neglect to mention. I however actually agree with you, typically I trust the dealership more, just always be careful with it. Good luck if you start a business!

      I also normally go to Philly for food about once a month. If you like Cannolis, go to Cafe Crema right near Pat's and Gino's on E Passyunk and 9th st.

    Damn, that first HD dealer looks like a shop from the 70's. Surprised corporate hasn't forced a remodel.

    Right now all HD Stealerships aren't selling bikes so it's in their best interests to sell old inventory. Even then they're STILL making big bucks...

    Do you guys buy distressed bike, that you then fix up and sell? Or is it that because you have a large internet presence that you can make a enough profit off each bike to support your business. I am left wondering how those you purchase from are not able to flip their bikes, but you can. Do you purchase them at a discount because you are purchasing in bulk as it were?

    Awesome, Hannums is the bomb and my local dealership. Did you know they also have four other locations? All in Pa. and one in North Jersey. The Chadds Ford location might be a bit closer to you. All of my friends from work in Philly used to come to Hannums for their Harleys. They told me that they always got better deals from them as opposed to the other dealers in the area and not mentioning names. Been buying from them since the early seventies.

    How do you guys make any profits buying from a dealer. Usually their mark up is already high, so your basically arbitraging like a couple hundred on each bike?

    Almost positive those are Tsubaki saddlebags. Nice that the previous owner put Japanese bags on a Harley and then drilled into the rear fender. Must have been a young guy with his first bike, doing what he could. BOL with sale

    The woman who sued McDonald's...... it was the woman mother....an elderly lady.... the burn was so bad and extensive she almost died . Now get this ... all she wanted was for McDonald's to help with the medical expenses...... They totally and completely refused. That's when she sued.and it wasn't because she spilled it it was because the coffee was so hot.. it wasn't just hot it was close to boiling and that was one of the reasons in the case.
