Hey! I'm Alanna - a twenty-something documenting my life as a Canadian living in England.

Cadbury were a lot better tasting before Kraft took them over and changed the chocolate to a blander taste
Only the creme eggs were changed. Everything else still uses Dairy Milk

@@Hi-kq1vi I didn't like Gobots either, for the same reason. I only recently found out that poor old Gobots actually pre-date Transformers by about a year! Made me feel kind of sorry for them.

I once bought a 10kg bag of mini eggs from the Cadbury outlet store.. a normal human would pace themselves, but me... go hard or go home, 10kg of mini eggs disappeared in a matter of days. Pretty sure I had more chocolate than blood in me.

Cadbury’s used to be the chocolate treat of choice before the Americans got their hands on it, changed the recipe and moved production to Poland.
With an EU grant I believe. As a net contributor the UK paid for the move. We are so generous...
@@hairyairey Kraft also borrowed money from a UK bank for part of the takeover. A bank we owned via the bailout. So essentially we lent them money to take over a company to lay of staff.
@@jpw6893 it would be hilarious if it wasn't so heartbreaking. I read that Nissan is making 600 people redundant in Germany as well. Honda of course plan to pull out of Europe altogether. Neither of these things are reported by the Biased Broadcasting Corporation.

urgh I didn't know this! What absolute moron made that descition to help them do that? Why would selling one our asserts of england be good for us? Who did it benefit?! You so nearly got it right. Creme Eggs are the ultimate, followed by mini eggs. The rest you can keep, especially that peanut butter monstrosity. Great video, as entertaining as always, and thanks for making my birthday even better. Have a great Easter Alanna.

Before Kraft took over and decided to switch creme eggs from using dairy milk to a cheaper formula maybe but even with the tweaks they made after the first year the chocolate now still has a tack about it

+iankingart I think it's just what you grew up with. I'm British (Scottish and English) and have eaten peanut butter the majority of my life. The contrast of savoury and sweet with the nuttiness and slight saltiness combined with the sweet chocolate is far better and infinitely more interesting than sweet sweet sweet, sickly sweet which is the creme egg
Don't get me wrong I liked creme eggs as a child before they were corrupted by the dark side corporate monstrosity from across the pond, but too many of them would have me vomit
American chocolate is terrible, but they know how to make a variety of confections. They are good at making interesting flavour combinations, and peanut butter and chocolate is their best. I'm glad we are finally adopting it over here.

Cool, I've always had an interest in Australian fauna, I got a bit obsessed with the Tasmanian Thylacine, read all the Eric Guyler stuff. Sadly I think its extinct
When I was a kid, Nestlé was just pronounced "Nessle", as in "Nessle's Milky Bar!". Then they went all posh on us.
That makes 2 of us then . There are folks that don't believe me when I tell them that ...or is it the "Mandela Effect" ? 😁👌

I admire your dedication to entertain us. You almost fell into a chocolate sugar coma towards the end. I still prefer the old Cadbury creme eggs before they were taken over by Kraft who cheapened the recipe (and the rest of the chocolate) in favour of profit

When i’m feeling flush i like to go to Hotel Chocolat when they’re selling off the easter stuff and get their kilogram encrusted eggs, but even then they’re extravagant. They also do an ostrich sized egg which is huge and appropriately mega expensive lol

Now that I'm older I can't face the sickly sweetness of Cadbury Cream Eggs any more. For me Galaxy Mini Caramel Eggs are where it's at. I've had sooooo many of those this year.

Its a baby treat by the look of it, to make it stamd out some cookie bits like cookies and cream, maybe, for an adults palette pallet? TASTE ! Ok she would.love that then since hershys cookies and cream biscuit is one of her faves, I betcha anyway. Ive tried the block, it might have to be thicker or just solid,.but who doesnt like a solid easter egg or bunny shaped trrat, right!!? Hehe

Never found a liking for Oreo and the one time I tried Hershey's I didn't like it either. I think it's probably because we are used to our own choccy brands.

@@dismafuggerhere2753 Do you mean in the US? Really? I like dark chocolate but not all the time, it goes well with mint. No milk chocolate should be a crime.
She did specifically say cookies and creme Hershey though. That is largely considered the only one that tastes and that will be due to being white chocolate. Herseys issue is they put the milk they use through a process that breaks down the fatty acids, the problem is the side product of the process is the production of butyric acid. Butyric acid is the same acid that when you vomit gives it the rancid taste and smell so put that into chocolate and you are going to get an odd taste hidden inside the other tastes

SO 1 Crème Egg works out to about 20 minutes on a Bike (Easy slow pace - perfect for girl who is full of chocolate)Those Reese's Egg/Lindor Egg probably have the raw energy to power you for a few hours -
Alana can you do some challanges to mix it up like try not to laugh or try not to move, you can find hundreds of videos on UA-cam. Maybe even reviews you did do a couple of videos which you reviewed but i assume you have brought more games and books since. Thanks for constant and fun videos ☺

Mini eggs rock! I don't really have a favourite, don't each much chocolate anymore, I did use to always love kinder surprise eggs growing up though, I actually really like(d) their chocolate.
My go to chocolate will always be kinder bueno.
I always like to eat the ears and heads of bunnies too when it comes to Easter candy and chocolate. Just something really fun about that! I think those oreo filled eggs are the best! I love how the oreo and cream and cookies are all in the center. I couldn't eat that much chocolate in one sitting, though. I feel really sick with a stomach ache when I try to do that.

The look of dismay on your face from 6:26-6:28 was so distressing! It was like you went back to the pain of childhood when little Alanna only had plain Easter eggs. To get back into a festive mood I changed the play-back speed to 0.25 and watched "drunk on chocolate" Alanna until you "started to slow down a little bit" at 6:56. Then it was time to speed you back up to normal. Happy Easter!

Alanna...as a young kid we had a school easter egg hunt and made a cup sized easter basket for our parents.
Mini Eggs are a new product, traditionally it was big hollow eggs with more chocolate sweets inside. UK.
Ps. Cadbury creme eggs, is the original small egg. it's been about for ever, usually on sale between New Years Day to Easter.

Mind you, I totally love Reese's peanut butter cups when in the States, so that sounds like paradise.

My kids are 28, 26 and 16 and I used to hide their eggs but not cheap chocolate 🤣 Cadbury’s Easter eggs or mars in the house or if it was dry and sunny in the garden. Here in the UK the boxed eggs are more popular on Easter Sunday than the little ones. And as you’ve probably noticed Easter eggs have been on sale since Xmas 🤣

If you want to add an additional amount of awesome to mini eggs, put them on a tea spoon and then into a hot drink (pref hot chocolate cus, y'know, chocolate).... the outside stays crunchy but the inside melts! Omnomnomnomnom! Takes some practise to get the timing right but so very worth it!

I like the Cadbury caramel eggs too. The best things are the mini caramel and cream eggs that come in a dozen like real eggs. Each one is just the right size for a daily treat.
Cadbury has put out Cadbury Scream Eggs (green inside) for Halloween the last couple of years.
Lol "Canadian tries British Easter Treats" and likes the North American imports best. (Reese's and the sad Oreo Kraft domination of Cadbury.) 😜

reeses peanut butter creme eggs are better than the original because it's just sickly sugar, though i've never tried oreo one.

Hershey's chocolate contains paraffin which is to stop it melting in warmer climates, but gives it that waxy accrid taste.

Hi, Alanna, Happy Easter, you were so brave to suffer like that to keep us entertained and informed. An extremely entertaining video, I hope you've recovered. I agree I like chocolate with a crunch. It may have been less uncomfortable if you'd used water instead of milk to drink. Looking forward to your next.
Sooo those Hershey's Cookies & Cream Bars are now merged with mini eggs (Hershey's Cookies & Cream Mini Eggs) and can be purchased at Shoppers/Pharmaprix (for any Canadians watching) - and they are 11/10 delicious.
I think a good vid for you to do would be a guide to British accents!! I want to hear YOUR takes on the regional accents haha.

the best thing is how all the easter eggs taste exactly the same despite the different brands .. since they are the same. just with different "extra" chocolate bar that comes in the box.
Another brill vid! There's still a fair bit of Easter left so I wondered if it would be possible to do a savoury Easter treats eating/tasting/testing thing. That might be a bit tricky... but you might be able to do NON-CHOCOLATE ( aaaaarrrrhggghhhh! ) with hot cross buns and some cakes and rabbit shaped stuff.
Alternatively you could make some cakes like chocolate-cornflakes or rice crispies cos I think that's what some good little christian kiddies do at Easter to give them to the baby Jesus or something
Now I've just spend the last 5 minutes having a good frowning about the inferiority of cornflakes vs rice crispies. But I just had an amazing brainwave - wot about crunchy nut cornflakes. OMG! Has it ever been tried before? I must bake some immediately and send it to the Queen for her approval

Milky Bar Bunny is nice and doesn't make you feel sick for 15 minutes after eating one, like crème eggs do!

The focus in that room jumps about quite a bit but the lighting is perfect.
The USA has a lot of blocks for chocolate due to Hershey's not wanting the competition! The main difference is the storage capability. The UK chocolate does not store for a long time due to the fresh milk used, but then it doesn't stay on the shelf for long. But USA chocolate uses rancid milk to prolong the shelf life. It does give it an unusual taste, but does not make it inedible! I do like the Hershey taste, but not continuously.
Too much of a good thing all that chocolate definitely!🍳

I think I’m addicted to mini eggs. Every time I go to Asda, grab 2 packets for £2 and I finish them by the time I’ve driven home
I hope you don't feel so sick now. For me it's the mini eggs and crème egg at the top, and everything else way down at the bottom (especially that thing with peanut butter). I ate so many Cadbury Mini Eggs as a child I'm surprised I don't still feel sick as an adult :D

I remember as a very young kid liking small solid chocolate bunnies. The ones I didn't finish would have my finger prints and teeth marks all over the uneaten part.
