I went with Maxpedition 12X5 bottle pouch. I have 2 of them they are insulated and very well made. The Condor version is good but a little small in my opinion. I wanted to create a scout kit that covered the 5 C’s without the need of a large pack.
This definitely makes me feel like I made the right choice in bottle bags. Thought about the Orca for the extra pocket on the bottom, but wanted the drain hole.
Do you have a pack list for your bags?
I'm trying to get gear to rely on for a smaller kit to keep in my truck/take hunting. (other than the dispersed gear throughout my truck)
Currently packed:
UST Survival Tarp (looking at replacements due to durability)
UCO Stormproof Matches
BiC Butane Lighter
Off brand Ferro rod (bought to practice, since I hadn't used one since Boyscouts, looking at Uberleben)
Cotton from old T-shirt, square and strips
1" Gorilla Tape
3-Single use Gorilla Superglue tubes
Bacitracin Ointment
Alcohol Wipes
Buck 715 Ascend LT (daily carried for over 3 years, so I trust it, but need to look at fixed blades)
RTIC 32oz (my daily waterbottle, looking for something better than the Pathfinder Set)
This is all things I use daily/when I am an idiot, but would be useful to have if something happened.
Little update to this. I should really do a video. I have found another bottle bag that has a great feature...It can hold a 2 liter bottle. Will be doing some side by side vids once it's arrived.
Regarding the SRO kit, take the two cups, store the big one in the bottom of the bag like normal (with the twig stove) and put the little one over the top of the bottle, now you have one for boiling water and cooking and the other for drinking and eating.
You can also with this setup take two 8 oz round screw top metal containers, fro SRO, one goes in the bottom the other goes in the top flap, one for coffee one for dehydrated soup.
And to round out the kit, a firebox nano X-box and wind screen, ferro rod, pot hanger, inferno, and utensils all fit in the pocket.
That is my kit. works great.
Thanks for posting, doing some research on these atm and this has been a great help
I got one of those Pathfinder kits back in June. I like the roominess of the bottle bag. Everything is easy to put in and take out. I also have a couple bags like the Condor. The insulation is a nice touch over the Pathfinder bag. My solution to the tight fit of the cup in the non-Pathfinder bags is to put the bottle in first then put the cup on top of the bottle. It is still a tight fit and you have to work the lip of the bag over the Wal Mart cup handles but it beats having to work the cup out of the bag from the bottom.
I agree on the insulation. Wish Pathfinder would have made the bag with insulation but the same size.
man been looking for a cylinder bag , just look good on the back
Thin closed cell foam sheet around your bottle in the Pathfinder can be used double duty.
Condor rocks!! 💪
I like their stuff, have a large order in with them right now as a matter of fact lol
looks like a nice set, I wonder how well its working out for you if you've had a chance to field test this
Have you tried the Orca bottle bag? I only found out about it recently, but it looks pretty good, bigger than the Condor with an extra pocket on the bottom.
I have one in my cart! Glad to hear from someone who has one already. Thanks!
@@AtwoodThreads No, I don’t have one yet, but will likely get one. I’m hoping it will also be a little wider as I have a Walmart collapsible cup that is just barely too wide to fit in the Condor. If those would fit, there would be the option to remove the plastic cups from my Stanley two cup cook set and use the collapsible ones instead allowing me to keep more stuff inside the cook set.
@@AtwoodThreads I’d love to see a comparison with the two in this video when you get yours.
@@SDWNJ I actually do have the Orca. Totally slipped my mind that it was that brand for some reason. Did a vid almost a year ago. ua-cam.com/video/6xhVtDhyuEo/v-deo.html
I got the 32 oz bottle and cup today and tried ordering the stove ans the 32 oz stove isn't popping up on ebay just the 64 oz is
The condor h2o bag works better the pathfinder bag is for a 64oz bottle
Very nice for $80.
